can anyone from england please tell me from what store to get a good php book and also which in your opinion is the best book. I know many have said its not that good learning from books but i just want a good solid one for reference while im maybe browsing other sites or working on my own site. Thanks.

but what is phpBBFM? an no my copy has no options in admin/styles to edit this only colours it seems unless im being dumb. I manually edited the simple_footer file but it still seems to show the old footer without the ranking advert i placed there? Maybe its my phone being strange but i don't think so. After editing this file do i need to reinstall the theme or should it just work? Mmm now i remember why i don't like using other peoples scripts.---eurika!Ok you can upload the custom rank images ANYWHERE.I uploaded mine to templates/mytemplate/rank/Then you must go into the admin panel and add the ranks, when you install the script the only rank is "site admin", edit that one and put the url for the special admin rank image in the box, then create a special moderator rank and add the url for that rank image.Then install the other ranks as standard ranks with a minimum posts for each rank like Rank 1 i set at 25 posts, and Rank 2 i set at 50 posts. Ah ha

well did you forget they have predictive text on most phones now. I can type extremly fast on my SYMBIAN NOKIA, as you can probably see from the length of many of my posts here. My wap site has been designed taking into account that you may not have a great phone. It will work on almost any phone even real old ones. If for any reason it don't then simply turn the images off and it will for sure.Orange offer unlimited access to wap for one pound a day, and if you search wap or web for more underground forums you MAY find tricks. Im paying a pound a day for it right now which i don't mind as for about 2.5 of 3 years i have managed to obtain it completly free lol

is it me or is this going way off topic? This is an ftp script not a chat script or a post for learning to build wap sites. Maybe Xisto with the arrival of me and the others coming through the Xisto advert on my site should add somewhere a wap forum. Also you should all read my sig it says clearly many of the questions you ask and RIGHT AT THE TOP has a link to my wap coding forums that noone uses. So use it. Or create a topic here asking about wap but i don't think asking these questions is right in my ftp script post. I was hoping people would maybe comment on my wappyFTP script here. Thanks.

i don't want to use the stolen one toddy its seems wrong to me. I i think you should release one as i liked that. Also the guestbook SERVICE but maybe not distribute on wap so much. Im working on an official copy of my chat to release soon but gotta make it better first.

no comment on our stolen scripts i had enough of it OK.My WEB site is a WEB forum, my WAP site is a WAP site, there is a big mobile site scene im already after 24 days of opening getting around 1000 hits a day now. And yes LOTS of people send emails with phones. You don't have to be on the move to operate one eh? Infact im using a nokia6630 with a copy of opera mobile to write this very post. Take a look at my sig for instructions on how to view WAP sites with your PC. Or google win-wap, or simply visit http://www.opera.com/ this browser is ok for wap. Maybe toddy can tell you more about wap on pc as i mostly use my phone

how strange. Maybe it might be worth putting your headers in the next update as maybe others have problems too but i can tell you it works as they fill my mail every day with it lol

this is real strange an i think one of us should report it as a bug to phpbb. I got that error after installing my army theme and trying to delete subsilver. But i checked my installation and the file WAS there. Mmm im confused. I would like to see this resolved as i have a style i will never use just sitting on my space and i like to try and keep things as tidy as possible and NOT waste my storage space :-)

i like your ip code :-)i use similar for my wap chat so i can ban really nasty users he he.But i have one suggestion:if you use this alot send the data to a text file or database as your email will fill pretty fast if your using it heavily lol v nice though :-) o but i do use a combo of browser and ip to can nasty people. On wap its better as lots of different phones/browsers but if i just banned ip alone it would ban many people lol almost whole networks or countrys sometimes he he, its not really a great method but is good for stopping really nasty users in the short term. If anyone knows of a better ban method please tell me

no you miss understand. I have installed my style, and my smiles but i have from phpbb.com also downloaded rank images that match my theme but cant work out where to place them./but thanks for your suggestion about the footer pages i will look later :-)

yes i think it would be a good service but what would you gain by doing this with no adverts? Also i think it would be very popular due to the fact it has no adverts therefore many would register and it would use much space and bandwidth. How will you manage this? / and yes ipb is much nicer than phpBB but ipb is not free and many of us simply don't have the spare cash to buy a forum thats probably just used for fun/hobby/clan :-)

ok i feel a little silly posting this as im sure the answers are simple but im really not used to working with pre-made web scripts that have so many files:Q1. I have added a real cool army theme to my phpBB with a matching smiley set and its looking good, i also have the matching rank icons but where on earth do i upload them in the script?Q2. Which file in my template/style/script do i need to edit to place some extra links at the bottom of my index page, for example a link back to my main site or some link exchange links/web partners?

Dj.dance is my little stalker. Has hacked a few of my previous sites and goes round following me copying/and trying to out do my work all the time. You will notice i didn't bite at any of this here so he went away. And as juice says it looks messy, take a look with your mobile not a pc. Screen layout and fitting is very important when working with wap sites. My standard is to make sure it looks tidy on a series 40 nokia and it will look fine then on most phones. To me it looks like my little friend used a bigger nokia s60 screen as standard resulting in it looking messy on many phones ok :-)---infact i will tell you who wrote it first: toddy (a good friend) from toddywap.net (wap) wrote it for me a long time ago as back then it confused me.
