I use WinRAR because it has many types of extensions that it can decompress unlike WinZip. Most of the files I download anyways are RAR files for which I need the correct decompresser. Also, the verison of WinZip I have (I believe it is 7.0) doesn't have that many features compared to WinRAR.

Yeah I didnt even know they have already released a SP3 for Windows XP. I thought it was going to come out in late fall around November right before Windows Vista comes out. Thanks for the information, I will make sure I don't download it now because if there were no beta tests done, it can be full of bugs like the beta SP2 for XP was. I remember that, I was like this is great a service pack, and then I was like shi*, I can't even start up my computer normally. Thanks for the info again man....

Yep, I downloaded the same exact thing. Its a really good program until 2 weeks or so when the trial time runs out. I used it to keep my noisy family out of my private files except it just stopped working so I had to find a new software. I couldn't find anything better so now I just create archives by using WinRAR and put a password on the archive so when you try to unRAR it, it asks for a password. This is an alright tecnique until your file size reaches above a gigabyte because it will take about 2 minutes to unRAR the entire archive unless you only want to unRAR one file at a time.

I use my computer for everything in my life. I play games even though I have 360, I check my mail, browse the internet, go to funny sites (ebaumsworld, break, miniclip), go to gaming sites, go to sports sites to check scores and stuff. I also use it for school. I use almost all of the Microsoft Office programs. I always use Microsoft Word and Publisher and Powerpoint, and sometimes I use Access and Excel. I have just started using Microsoft Frontpage 2003 and I have made a website in my free time (the reason I am here at this website because I am just finishing it and I need a place to host it, hopefully I will be getting an approval soon!) I also use computers for other school thngs on the internet such as using sparknotes and checking my homework on my school website. In my free time I just fool around with all sorts of stuff. I make some cool designs in Adobe Photoshop CS2 and design graphics for sigs and other stuff like that. I also download all kinds of things from P2P servers (my favorites are Bearshare and Shareaza, of course I do all of this leagally ) I also use the computer for chatting with my friends on AOL instant messager and sometimes to use AIM to upload files and transfer them between my friends and I. Well that is basically my entire life other than XBOX 360 and some time in between that to play sports and watch television. I don't know what I would do without a computer!!!

Nintendo Wii Your opinion about nintendos new console?
brautigam replied to scab_dog's topic in Computer Gaming
I agree with most of you guys. The interactive controller is probably the selling feature of the console. Although there has been no other information on the graphics system of the console or what is actually in it meaning the hardware. Also, nobody really knows how good the online play will be.Is it going to be like PS2 where the online sucks or will it be like XBOX 360 in which the online community is amazing with Marketplace and all of the demos and downloadable content. If the online environment is set up the way Microsoft set up the XBOX Live, I wiill (that was a typo, weird huh?) probably give it a chance and buy the console but XBOX 360 will still be my primary gaming device.... -
Well this may be a pretty long story but............Basically the way I got mine is because my dad owns his own business and office. It is a small business so he only needs about 6 computers. The good thing is every year or so, he upgrades to the newest computers to keep his work updated with the most compatible software. So one day he gets about 4 new computers in and that happens to be the day that I go into his office. And guess what, I’m just like, “Dad, what are you going to do with that computer, and that one too?” And he was just like, “Well, I don’t use them anymore, so I guess you can have them.”So he brings two computers home. One of them was crap. It was like an old Pentium III HP Pavilion but I took that apart a long time ago and made a better one with extra parts. But the other one was a pretty nice HP Pavilion a250n. That happens to be the one I am working on right now. I recently upgraded from the single master 120GB hard drive and added in a slave 40GB hard drive that I had sitting around. It has a 64MB nVidea video card which works good enough for me. I can play Call of Duty 2 on it as well as Need For Speed: Most Wanted.I am just getting ready to buy a new 20.1” monitor and a new computer that is compatible with Windows Vista in the next year or so. The monitor I am looking at is the LG L203WTX Black-Silver 20.1 8ms Widescreen LCD Monitor. It is very nice according to the reviews and is on sale for a price of $499. I just wish I had enough money to buy it right now and a new Vista compatible computer as well. Well, now you all know my story of how I attained my computer. My laptop is a whole other story. Maybe I will tell you guys another day.

The load on your site is very slow. Maybe try making the quality of all of the images a lot less since it is not very noticable anyways. Although, the design does look very professional.I haven't had time to check out the entire site yet, but it looks pretty good and it looks like you put a lot of time into it. Nice job!

What program do all you guys use to make all of those cool sigs. I am very familiar with Adobe Photoshop CS2 so is there any animation program kind of like that. You know, with layers and the same looking tools palate. If so, what is it because I am really interested. Whatever program you guys use, where can I find tutorials for it so I can learn how to make animated pictures like sigs and avatars.Thanks....

I really like the picture, the background, and especially the way you put the text in there and how whatever it is almost drips down the picture. The only thing I don?t get, along with the rest of the people that already replied is the blackness in the middle. Is it supposed to be a shadow? If it is, I recommend making the color of it a little bit lighter so you can still see the background. Maybe try putting the opacity meter on that layer down to around 50% or so. The last thing, is what are those two white lines to the left of the blackness? They are pretty annoying since they are probably pure white. You should make them a light grey or lighter tan to go along with the background. Overall though, you did a good job for one of your first graphics projects.

The first one and the second ones really caught my eye. Although, the third one definitely wasn?t my style. The first one has a good use of the different shades of green and I like how it is all condensed in the middle. It draws my eye right to the middle which I think is good. It kind of makes you follow the ?spider web? to the edge to read your name on the left hand side. The second one almost looks like a reflection in a dark room. It looks very good, but if I were you, I would remove the lens flare. Not using the lens flare is like the #1 rule for me when I am using photoshop. It looks good in games when you are running around and the sun is pointing at you in different angles but in my opinion, it doesn?t look very good for still pictures. But overall, excluding the lens flare, the second one is the best one out of the three. No offense but the third sig you made isn?t for my liking. The light ?cool blue? is kind of good looking but whatever the thing in the middle is, I don?t really like. The design of the edges are awesome though, especially the icy effect as well as all of those thick darker blue lines. I guess I would say you did a good job on it, seeing it took you 15 minutes while the others only took 5 but its just not my style for some reason.

Well, in my opinion, depending on whatever the issue is, number 1 on the list should be to enable system restore and to create restore points using Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. These points are automatically created at certain times such as system checkpoints and installations of software. But I create my own whenever my computer seems to be running flawlessly. By doing this, if there is any problem in the future it is easy to just restore your computer.Number 2 on your list should be: Download and install some type of antispyware and antivirus software. Good suggestions are AdAware, Spybot: Search and Destroy, Zone Labs ? Zone Alarm, Microsoft Antispyware. Most computer issues are due to some Trojan that started up with a program. Sometimes the best thing to do is to just open up task manager on a regular basis and check out the normal things that run under the processes tab. If you just give it a look every once in a while, when there is a problem you can just go to task manager and end whatever process isn?t one of the regular ones that is running. If this method works, you will know that whatever process that is, you should search for that application and quarantine it. (With either an antispyware or antivirus software, or just ?zip? the file with Winzip and delete the original which stops it from running. If you are sure that the file is not important, you can just delete it.

siotoxin, how did you view his sig, when I click on the imageshack link it just brings me to the main page. It wont let me view the actual sig that he created. I would like to see because I am working on a sig for myself for this site and I want to see the competition I have, lol. Thanks?

I have heard of GIMP and Paint Shop Pro, but I am a Adobe Photoshop CS2 user. Once you learn it, it is a very functional program that has a tool for any need (or combinations of tools and filters). Basically, in my opinion, it is the best photo editing software. The best part I think, is the quickness while working on a project, it is easy to change layers, do what you need, use filters, and create a masterpiece. Its the best.

I use CoolEditPro 2.0. I think it is the all around best audio editing software. You can easily change file types, just open the file and save-as. And it has a very simple interface to learn. If you are a beginner use this.

Well here's a snippet from an article from https://www.cnet.com/topics/home-entertainment/ This guys right, Microsoft is probably just waiting for another time to release all of these new 360 compatable things which will cost a "small fortune." vvvvvv That's a bunch of bs, I didn't know how to make the indented quotes thing so I just put quotes around it. Yeah, I copied and pasted it but I didn't say it was my own, I put normal quotes around it as I would in a essay for school, it's not wrong. Notice from KuBi: Copied from https://www.cnet.com/topics/home-entertainment/, warning issued.

From http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Just another $50 cable that will come out. But I think it is pretty cool that HDMI almost doubles the amount of colors as normal HD has. So basically, Sony already has this on their minds and may rethink their connections, although I think they are using HDMI for the PS3 already. vvvvvv That's a bunch of bs, I was warned and suspended because I didn't know how to make the indented quotes tags thing so I just put quotes around it. Yeah, I copied and pasted it but I didn't say it was my own, I put normal quotes around it as I would in a essay for school, it's not wrong. Well I was going to write all that out, but what you said sums up what I think, exept I'm kinda a half and half Microsoft/Sony person.
-
I think they will sometime in 2007 or 2008. Once the sales on the 360's begin to decrease they are going to need another big gaming console to keep their income high. Especially since Bill is leaving, well sort of, they are probably planning this now.
-
Yeah, I couldn't believe how real COD2 looked and especially PRG3 when the 360 first came out.
-
Well some PC's can destroy the 360, but that's not the point. It's a gamer's dream until PS3 which will by OK...But I'm still gonna play my 360
-
I read about this a couple days ago. If I could be there when some kid opens the box, the look on his face would be a kodak moment, lol
-
Dude, that's awsome, lol, only $400.

Mine has frozen up alot but its only with certain games and it depends on the resolution you set it at. Anybody that doesnt use a HDTV, it wont crash.

Online Gameing? online gameing witha consoles
brautigam replied to truman69's topic in Computer Gaming
I have XBOX 360 Live and its so much better than PS2 in my opinion. I play PS2 online at his house and it sucks, I think, no customizable friends list....etc....
