also, i hear lord of the flies is a good one? has anyone read that? and if so is it something you would reccommend? im really looking for good books to read, and any recomendations would be awesome thanks

id actually have to say that this is one of my favorite "political sci-fi's" I absolutely love how it shows what happens when society gets controlled and thinking, free though, and originality is removed from society.

yeah, i just started a new job this week (which gives me 2 full timers, 60+ hrs a week now) and im def. worried i wont be able to keep up, so im posting an aweful lot of long posts whenver im on, but thats ok because i have alot of questions still. Im looking to get a domain for my website, and im really clueless as to what i might need to actually get. I see all sorts of different packages with hosting or forwarding etc and im really not sure what all would be neccessary to get a domain for my Xisto site. Would i need the forwarding or hosting? or can i somehow set it up through cpanel that all the people looking for domain.com are taken to my site.. also, can i have subdirectories and such (domain.com/something) when im paying for a domain if i keep the same Xisto hosting?Thanks very much

First of all, I was wondering how i could go about creating a log-in section, and using the phpbb logins (forum names and passwords) and making it protect a certain area of my site, as i would hate to have 2 different logins for the forum and the site... basically, im looking for something that allows you to log into the forum without going to the forum, and when ur logged in on the forum, it also allows you to go to a different area, outside of the forum.Secondly, is it possible to create a .zip file with php directly on the hosting server?

firstly, id like to show you what im looking for.id like a site where it is something like this http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and where 10 is, it specifies a specific page, and then something.php adds that page as its content using an include. I know it has something to do with GET, but i have no idea how to do this, so any help would be awesome

im seeing alot about Joomla around the forums, so i figured i would check it out in the cpanel and see what all the hype was about. im attempting to use a php hit counter, and i have everything uploaded and configured as the directions say, however it doesnt show up on the sitei have it on, and when i go directly to the page (counter.php) i get this error this is line 66 $file = fopen($logfile,"w+") or die("Can't open/write the log file, please CHMOD logs folder to 777 (rwx-rwx-rwx)!");

if youre looking to be a doctor or something of that sort, the marines isnt for you. i was thinking about it at one time (recruiter still tries calling me) until i found out i was having a kid. anyways, marines doesnt do any medical believe it or not, all that is handledby the other branches for them (mainly the navy) and if youre thinking about the air force, keep in mind that they do credit checks lol

im making a script library of sorts i guess... im not exactly sure of what you would call it, but yes something like that. i will have scripts available for downloads, but i would like for users of the site to be able to submit them to me so that i could add them to the site, without them having to go through the hassle of emailing me them or something like that.basically, just a simple upload script would do the trick i think, the rest i could do through forums i believe

nah i wish it was college, i just graduated highschool but still, i dont care to sleep anymore, i dont have any freetime otherwiselife is all busy busy busy ( im working full time, and i have a kid on the way ) so giving up sleep is the only way that im able to go online or anything :S

i think its a great idea, if i wasnt so hard pressed for a mysql host, i dont think i would have looked around for some of the stuff here... although i dont think i should be the one to design it, ive seen some amazing templates on the web and im sure at least a few ppl here could make something like that

over the past week or so (since ive graduated) ive been getting about 2-4 hrs of sleep, and strangely i have even MORE energy than when i was getting 7-9 hrs each night. granted, im not really doing much besides siting on the comp from midnight-6/7am, but still it strikes me a bit weird that i can be awake all night and all day withoug getting tired :\ maybe theres something wrong with me :'(
