  1. Agreed. It is simply the blindness of mankind today that causes this sort of discrimination. It's terrible. We, the "most intelligent" creatures on the planet, hate that which is different, and why? Because we can't control People like Bush are angered by the fact that they can't stop people from being gay, so in turn they bring it upon themselves to hate. Pethetic creatures, we humans are....
  2. I made a post about this, with some very detailed facts, a short while ago. Perhaps any who are worried should take a look at it. -------Nitefell's Bird Flu Post http://forums.xisto.com/topic/37539-pandemic-on-the-rise-long-will-bird-flu-become-the-pandemic-scientists-believe-it-will/
  3. I've found the effects smoking has upon the body, though real, are exagerrated in the media. For example, relating to the topic. Though, with many cigarettes and many years, it has proven smoking can cause the skin to loosen, causing wrinkles, it is not as drastric as seen in the media. You see an anti-smoking commercial, and the smoker is this, old rinkled guy with sun spots and pale yellow skin. In reality, it's not so profound. I myself, am a smoke and do not deny the negative health effects it causes upon the body, but being underage, I'm more concerened by the fine given to those caught.Though I have a question for you. I can't understand why you would go out of your way to name yourself 'nonsmoker' then create a thread about it. It seems as if your showing off the fact that you do not smoke.
  4. Your views in particular are very interesting. Thank you all for replying. It's such an infinate topic, so the amount of posts were to be expected.
  5. Thank you all for your comments. I was surprised so many people responded, and it sounds a if you all have different views upon the meaning of it, which is as I intended. Thank you all.
  6. I mean, what if someone sees you differently than what you see in your reflection? I know it's against common logic, but really? It can't be proven. What if the color pink looks like what you think black is? Everytime I think about this, I get headaches, but it is a crazy possibility. I honestly wonder about these things. Imagine, for a second, if people did see things differently, and you had the opportunity to see through their eyes? I can't even concieve what that would be like. Would you be shocked? Amused? Would you see colors you never thought could exist, animals you thought you knew? What about the people you knew? Would it totally change your opinion on someone your attracted to? That makes me think the mos, for you may find someone attractive, but your friend thinks less than that of them. What are your opinions on this? Do you think this is a possibility?
  7. My favorite of the four had to have been The Goblet of fire. I found it a refreshing new take on harry potter. There was much more action, and it didn't have that lame mystery feeling. Like, harry potter and the philosophers stone, the mystery and magic in that was amazing, but the problem was they pretty much used it all up. In the second and third movies, they attempting to awe you, but in my opinion they simply fell on their asses. Harry potter four was a total success, in my eyes. Especially the scenes in which harry fights the dragon, the photography there was near unbeatable. I especially liked the fact Harry, Ron, and Hermoine don't immediately jump to the conclusion that the villian is malfoy. Honestly, in the previous films, they always blamed him, even when there wa no evidence at all. The fact that he was slitheran and mean to harry automatically mad him the prime suspect everytime. Though he is an annoying character to say the least.
  8. By now, we have all heard of the bird flu. At first, I chalked it up as another disaster wannabe, like Y2K, and sars. Y2k was suppose to make defesive missles explode, and computer systems to crash, while Sars was suppose to sweep across Canada after it popped up in toronto. Thinking back o these, I convinced myself tgis was just a false alarm. But if you think about, it, it's a frightening possibility. Sars was proven by scientists to lack the ability that is mutation. Bird flu, they say, has the possibilty of carrying this ability, and the more the disease comes in contact with humans, the more it has a chance of mutatiing from bird --> human to human --> human. And you may think "Well, contact with humans is pretty limited right now. Wrong. Infected chickens are being slaughtered in the middle east, which is good, but peasants are stealing the dead chickens and eating them before the corpse can be burned. Well. That isn't to bright, now is it? I know they are hungry nd ll, but these chickens threaten millions of human lives. So, why would they take that risk. Again, because they are hungry. So what are we gonna do about it? Sadly, we can't do anything right now. They are making a vaccine to combat this didease, but since the disease hasn't mutated yet, we are not sure if the vaccine works. The only way to get a guaranteed cure is for the disease to mutate from human to huamn, and then to harvest infected cells from a human victim. But it takes usually nine months to design a cure for such a disease. Nine months is plenty of time to wipe out millions of people. And it doesn't end their. There is another mutation that is a scary possibility. Right now, the disease is passed through cells, but what if it become air borne? You cough, and everyone in that room is infected. one cough equals a group of people. How many times to you cough or sneeze a day? Millions would die within weeks, rather than the nine months I mentioned earlier. Of course, this is worse case scenario, and I personally don't take it to seriously. But it really is something to think about. Any one have any views on this matter?
  9. This is just a neat little poem I thought up one day in attempt to make social class go by faster. ^_0I hope you like it!Fallen HeroesFallen Heroes never die They simply vanish within the skyThey fall to earth and there they lieTill darkness gathers in their eyesThey rise as demons as night drifts byFor fallen heroes never die.So...... 10. I've had this game for ages, but never really played it. I had a go at it and had so much fun, I thought I'd write a review on it.Metroid Fusion is an older game now, realeased a few years back for the brand new Game Boy Advance. But PSP and DS got nothing on this highly original, almost intoxicating gameAssigned to watch over the Biologic's research team, Samus Aran once again finds herself on the planet SR388. On the surface, she is attacked by the parasitic life form known as X, a creature which multiplies inside the nervous system of the host creature (in this case, Samus). The X copies the DNA of it's host, and also gains the memories and knowledge of the victim. The victim dies, and the jelly like X morph into the form of it's latest host using it's DNA. I Samus' case, they had to remove large non-organic portions of her powersuit. Just as she was about to die, a cure was made using a cell from the last metroid, which was the X's main predator. Like most Metroid games, samus loses pretty much all her abilities besides the basic beam function, and is left in a new "fusion suit". Samus' cellular make up now includes many aspects of the metroids, including the ability to absorb X to regenerate health. Of course, she is now sensitive to the cold like the metroids. An explosion soon rocks the B.S.L. Space Station, and Samus is sent to investigate. The X that had infested parts of her powersuit were now free aboard the station, incudiing the SA-X, a powerful "core x" micking samus at full power! Working under a new computer CO, Samus learns not all is as it seems and is soon caught up in a conspiracy within the government which she serves. With detailed pixel graphics and side scrolling game play, you can't shake the nostalgic feeling that pulsates as you play it. An awesome, exciting game that you won't want to miss.
  11. What a Hero Means to MeNitefell A hero. Someone of admirable traits or qualities. All of us have a hero. To some, a hero might be their favorite actor or musician. To others, someone closer to home, like a father or uncle. But what is hero? It means different things to different people. Many find people of fame or importance their heroes. A patriotic American supporting the war in Iraq may think George Bush is a hero, while others believe he every decision he makes is wrong. On the flip side, Muslims may find Osama Bin Ladin hero for fighting for their for their religious beliefs, while some despise him for getting them involved in war. Actors are often portrayed as the heroes of many younger people. You may watch ?Pirates of the Caribbean? and find Johnny Depp your hero. Many people ignore the reality and praise actors for their fictional deeds. Fictional character have, too, sown their way into the hearts of people everywhere. Fictional characters are easy to respect, for they can never prove themselves wrong unless they are meant to within their stories. They do only as intended by their creators, and the creators includes heroic traits in these characters based upon their views on what hero is. In movies, they often become heroes based on appearance or strength, while in books they are valued for their heroic deeds, such as killing great beasts or surviving impossible feats against nature. In the media, what a hero is differs greatly. Lastly, we come to the heroes of myth and legend. They are admired for many of the same things found in media. Strength, impossible feats etc. In the story of Peach boy, an old Japanese legend, a boy born from a giant peach is found in the forest by an elderly couple and raised as a normal child. He ends up undertaking a great quest, in which he sails the a far off island and kills the trouble making demon that resides there. He returns home with the treasure the demon had stolen and lives happily ever after. Not all heroes, however, live ?happily ever after?. In the story of Jason and the Argonauts, Jason takes on a perilous quest in order to regain his country. Along the way, he conquers many dangers, and marries a witch named Media. He ends up being banished from his kingdom and throne by those who feared his wife. He lived a weary life as a trouble man, and ends up being killed when a part of his ship, that had rotted through the ages, falls and kills him. Either way, they are admired for their heroic deeds. In conclusion, heroes are seen everywhere, and are kept in the hearts of those who admire hem. Whether the heroes ends justify his means, that is left up to those who hear of their tales. A hero differs greatly to many people, and it has always been that way. Admire them for their traits and model yourself after them and you may become someone?s hero one day as well.
  12. I agree with your friends. A human beings we have the right to choose for our selves, freedom of hoice, right? Well if you force something, whether it is religion, or anything else, it almost brakes that right.
  13. I would most likely have to say the Yu-gi-oh! Card game. A fad that sure died quick, eh? The strategy only involved flipping traps. That's all. No planning, no 'one-step-ahead' thinking, nothing. You just set a trap on your turn and waited to see if your opponent would fall for it on his turn. Bleh.
  14. I personally found a very good game to be Alien vs. Predator: Extinction. The game is gripping, and almost intoxicationg. The graphics may not be the best out there, but then again, why does it matter? The game is amazing. It is very much like command and conquer games, in the manor in which you command tropps to fulfill desired objectives. You've got to be fast, strong, and witty to survive this game. I personally feel all who read this should give this game a try. It truly is amazing. Notice from BuffaloHELP: Title modified.
