Good news guys!I looked at Vikella (The venus trap) the other day, and it IS growing! There are two small sprout leaves/stems/whatever poking out... Through all the odds of bad water, cold weather and some sort of white moss, a small sprout has emerged! I'll take some new pictures and upload them soon :PAnd, as I type this, I have just spotted another sprout poking it (slightly away from the others)! Lucky i didn't dig it up, then ^_^I'm going to collect some rain water, boil the stones in it to clean them, wash the pot and the plastic tub out, then replace the water with warm rain water. I'm not suprised that moss has grown, its a warm damp place which is ideal for it, I'm just suprised it doesn't seem to be affecting Vikella...for now....So I'll take some pics and put them on my PC and then share them all with you during the next day or so

I woke up hearing a very loud VROOOM kind of noise. I’m not sure what time it was, I didn’t check, but when it was all over (about 5 minutes later) it was 3:52 although I didn’t look immediately afterwards as I was still a bit disorientated. I bolted out of bed and scrambled to the window where I opened up the blind quickly and my eyes darted around the street below. Thinking of past events such as the car bomb, a while ago, I assumed the worst. My breath was quick and heavy drawing fog on the window impaired my gaze with every drop of oxygen I drew. Then I saw the car. I didn’t know at first that it was my car, as I said I impaired my own vision my breathing so hard all I knew was that a tall reasonably well built man was driving and the car was stuck. Our drive is apparently reasonably difficult to manoeuvre in and out of and he had obviously been reversing out of the drive in such haste that he fell down the ditch between us and out next-door neighbour. The man was around about 6”2-6”3 but it was pretty difficult to tell. Judging my dress style it was obvious (after the incident of course for some reason by brain was switched into “watching mode”) that he was a chav. I thought that it was possibly my sister’s boyfriend bringing the car home, which I know of course is absurd, she’s spending a few days in Scarborough with him and he has his own car, and he would have just knocked on the door and asked for my assistance being that the only other people in the car would have been a girl around my age and my sister. Not exactly car-moving type people a 14 and 17-year-old girl. Then the other two emerged, it was getting pretty hard to see. One of them was about 5”10ish perhaps. I don’t know it was of course dark out and the window was still thick in mist. There was a third male but I have trouble recalling what he looked like. It was all kind of a shock. He must have been about 6”0 because he was taller than the other but not as tall as the driver. They both got out and went to the back, accompanied by the driver of course. They all started to push the back of the vehicle in an attempt to free it. Then realising of course this is much more difficult with no one pressing the pedals. The driver then realises this and confirms it with his accomplices. They nod in agreement and he returns to his car. This perhaps shows the intelligence of the culprits or lack thereof. He then tries to free the car and here is the reasonably remarkable bit the two of the smaller ones with the largest inside start pushing the car incredibly thoroughly. The whole car is moving at least a foot and they don’t seem to be exuding any energy. Until that moment I was contemplating putting some jeans on in a hurry and going down, armed with two knives from my kitchen. A few years ago, I took kickboxing classes for about 36 months and they proved very useful in both self-defence and weapons combat. Then I thought, no, the time it takes to get my jeans on get a belt on, run down stairs, find two adequate knives *which are probably in the dishwasher where I’d never think to look* get outside after locking the door, they’d be long gone. What are they going to do? Three 17-20 year old chavs vs. a dangerously underweight 14 year old in a f*cking Zelda t-shirt? I don’t think that will end well… I also thought maybe I should get my phone and try recording it. I can barely see the bastards I don’t think a 1.7 mega pixel camera is going to see through this mist. Then a strange thing happened. The driver stopped with the others following suit and he looked up at me. For a crystal 3 seconds, which felt like 30, our gazes had met. I thought. He’s seen me however he isn’t advancing. I think he may have pointed my out to his friends but it was only till after that they’d have an even harder time seeing me than I would seeing them. They then returned to pushing and pressing the pedals and after about 15 seconds drove down my drive and out of sight. Were they remained for at least 2 seconds that felt of course like 200. Then reversing out they made their way up and back down after reversing at the top of the hill and coming back down it, passing me by and driving up the other hill. Then it hit me. They had stolen my car right before my very eyes and I could do nothing other than sit and watch. Really puts you in your place doesn’t it?Anyway it turns out they did what was called a hannoy burglary. This is where you take a stick or coathanger of some kind and turn the keys til the front door is opened then take the keys and go. Of course it wasnt a very quiet getaway..Anyway the car was put in an impoundment centre on saturday and noone was allowed to see it or go near it. Anyway sunday comes up and the forensics go to see the car, they fingerprint it all the other stuff they do, pretty standard stuff. Then my mum recieves a call. It's from the local police. It's about the car.. She listens intently as the cop speaks down her ear... I was awoken by the ringing it's a sharp and loud noise that pierces the very fabric of your ear. Of course I only got half the conversation."No.""Wait, WHAT?!""This HAS to be a joke!""April's fools was last week""Alright alright""Thankyou""Good bye"I inquired about what it was.. she told me to go downstairs and we'd all get told together. A bizarre feeling occured in my stomach, a feeling of dread worry and fear. I quickly wrapped myself in the housecoat that hangs from my door and raced downstairs, my sister bounding along beside me asking me what this was about, like I knew. Mum had already put the kettle on and looked in a state of shock, she told us how they had just started the inspection and that as soon as they opened the boot of the car one of the forensics had been attacked. A five foot long python had been stowed away in the boot when the thieves had dumped it. Apparently one of the guys that the thieves were in assosiation with had been trying to flog a snake. They had bought it and used our car to transport it as well as commit other crimes. *In our car not the snake XD*Of course everyone was in disbelief until we saw the case photos. They called in the RSPCA and thought that they could get rid of it but then had to get in a specialist from sheffield to handle it cos it was dangerous!tl;drCar got knicked snake was found in the boot and its lolIN ADDITIONWe had to have all the locks changed on EVERYTHING and new keys to the carTotal cost600+ quid D:

1) Protesters. Right activists. Those types of people. Coz they tend to try and getter things like better treatment for criminals, stop letting us test on animals (call me cruel. id rather them die than me), stop letting us use fun words that "might be offensive to some people", not letting us do things coz its "not fair on someone/somethings rights". Most of these people (criminals, not activists...although they shouldnt have any rights) shouldnt have rights. If you murder someone, you shouldn't be put in a place where you get free food, free tv, heating, stuff like that...for a few year. They should be killed themselves!! Like people who are GIVEN drugs in jail coz its "unfair on their rights" to go cold turkey. ITS ILLEGAL! they shouldnt be doing it in the first place! And now "softer" sentences for people who commit crimes coz of drugs!!! Its all coz of tree-hugging p---y hippies. 2) I can't really think of much else. Coz im too mad at hippies now. Hmmm...The lack of justice, I guess. For example, you kill someone, you get a few years in prison. You molest an under age girl. She comes forward some years later. Molester is put on bail, and obviously runs away. I guess "hate crimes" could come under this too. But not like "omg, your having a go at me coz im black!" stupid stuff. Coz generally its not like that. I mean like a group of chavs kicking in a goths head, then kicking in the head of his girlfriend trying to help him. What will they get? A couple of years. Someone should be able to kick their ----ing heads and see how the hell they like it! An eye for an eye in the corparel (sp? XD) system....You beat someone up on the street, the police kick the crap outta ya....Molest someone? You get ya weiner chopped off (or hole plugged...coz women molest too)...then get heavily sodomized See how the hell you like it! 3) Feminazis. A bunch of aging, nagging hypocrits with nothing better to do. Dont get me wrong, I agree women should have the same rights as men. But there's a line between "same rights" and "nagging just coz ya can". Having a go at someone for holding a door open, or buying you dinner? Its a cool website Tbh, i'd give it a 9 out of 10. It's clear, and straight to the point. No faffing around, no havign to look for stuff. Which I love in websites the colour schemes cool, and I like the use of the interactive charts and stuff.Two things however:Logo - Its a cool logo, but it should flash on for longer...and maybe add some lightning forks to it :DThe Auto Play on the radio/song/whatever - I only dislike this, because it played over my music :POther than that though, very cool website

Interesting little bit of information you got there, but what is the actual definition of a super food? When is the line placed at just good food and SUPER food? I heard a super food is a food that has no negative things in it. Like porridge. Apparently there is nothing bad at all in porridge...

Milk might not be fantastically good for you but there is no way that it could possibly be bad for you if we have been feeding it to our infant for so many years. At that young age a small change or bad thing to happen will result in major consequences. There could be manny negative side effects to it but if there are it could only possibly be in small doses. If you drink nothing but milk for a long time Im sure it will have very negative effects. There is quite alot of fat in it obviously as stated multiple times above, its bad to have a very high fat content in the body. There are few other bad things in milk but I'm certain there is no terrible things. If there was there would be much more deaths and illnesses and things.

Sony sucks. You all know it. The lowest quality electronics production company on earth. Okay, maybe I exxagerate slightly but there are many many bad products that come from them. Playstation 1/2? All audio products? Rubbish. Headphones should be of the highest imagineable quality. They are not something you will wanna cheap out on. You want the whole sensation of listening to music. You want more quality than you can actually expirience live. If your made of gold you can buy some Ultrasone Edition 9. Of course they are 1500 dollars and noone in the world owes them I'm sure... But your best bet, from my personal opinion is that you should by some iPod earphones. They are very very expensive for just some earphones but it's impeccable value for money! They hardly break after a long while and the sound quality is immensely high. If you want a big bulky thing though for the real quality and shut out of sound. Be prepared to spend about 50 quid for it.

Yeah, I was really upset too I'm not too suprised though, coming to think of it. I used (boiled) still water, dirty stones and it's in cold, cold, uk But I think, since they're not used to the bacteria/moss/etc there is over here, the moss that's growing has/will kill it. And, yeah, thats why I don't want to dig it up, incase it is still growing. I did put about 2-4mm of soil on top of it, so maybe I went abit overboard, so it'll take longer to "pop out". I'm going to give it another 2 or 3 weeks, then dig it up.

Sorry to bump, but update the weeks

These films are idiotic and you all know it. Scary movie one and two were very meh. Yes that is the correct technical terminology. Scary movie three was at the point where it was just retarded. One or two good jokes the rest just purely unfunny. Like the jokes are the kinda things where youd be like. Wow, that was not funny why is that guy laughing? Oh that's right, his sister and mother are the same person.

I was just ponderings of the universe today and I thought to myself. If we have never seen an atom because it's far too small to see. How do we know that they are even real. I mean there could be this theory that is completely fool proof. The periodic table of elements might work perfectly and all the groups and rows and stuff might work perfectly but what if the atom is nothing like what we originally thought. It could change the idea of physics. To my understanding quantum physics (or something like that) depends primarily on the eratic movements of the electron. What if there isnt an electron? Protons are positively charges and neutrons are negative. Just laying it on the table. I do not believe that the idea of the atom is incorrect, just saying if it was wrong what would we be left with?

OK here's a few freestlye tips I use when it comes to trying to get a good night sleep. They work trust me : DDon't drink alcohol, under any circumstances. After you get drunk you pass out for a few hours but then when you wake up youll be wide awake for ages. This is not what we want XDAs Mr Hanky says in south park. Wear socks to bed. Feet have bad circulation seen as they're the furthest appendige from the heart they get very cold. Insulate them or youll be able to feel it in your sleep. This doesn't help you get off really but it's the best strategy.Don't watch TV before bed. If you can help it try to watch it as little as possible. TV makes your brain go at like 100000 miles a second. This is not what you want.If your feeling really whacky record some white noise and play it on your iPod or something. Actually it's probably better to have it on a CD and have it playing. I started playing it on my iPod but then I started getting incomfortable with them in my ear and m head on my pillow. Just very quiet on a CD can be immensely relaxing.Even if you closed your eyes you can still get some kind of light seen kinda. Make the room as dark as is physically possible. Get some black out blinds and shut out the harsh sun. It is not your friend.Get a job. I am convinced the root of you problem is the psychological aspect of not having a job. With your head racing with all these thoughts no wonder you can't get off.If this still doesn't work here's some more things.Caffeine is VERY bad. I find if i have a cup of coffee in the afternoon it will affect my sleeping at night. It's THAT bad.Go to the loo before you go to sleep to minimize probablility of needing the loo. If you lie in bed thinking "..... I need the loo but can't be bothered getting up" that's not gonna go down well at all. Try not to drink too much before bed for the same reason.Get into a routine. Bathe before bed =D nice hot bathe is a great way to get wound down before bed and have a set bed time and wake up time.If these don't help I'm sorry I'm useless xD

I'd say most of the time things like that are calculated guesses, based on the person, the enivornment, etc. But get it right enough times, and people think it's less of a coincidence.Like at one point, I could guess what a friend was wearing (pink bikini) because it was a hot day, she said she'd been sunbathing, and I assumed it was pink 'coz it's generally a popular colour with girls.Nothing that big :DI think whats cool is when you're thinking of a song, and it plays next on your playlist Same thing though, it's just a coincidence. Hmm...yeah, a bulb might be easier...if this doesnt work (and im having doubts having used still water. It was boiled slightly though to make it warm, so it might not be too bad) i'm going to try a different kind, or just maybe buy a fully grown one for now...

Hello Xisto Members, mods and admins I've always loved venus fly traps, and for my birthday, my girlfriend bought me a "grow your own venus fly trap". The reviews on the websites says it works, so hopefully it will! I've read several websites on it, saying that they like warm weather, some sunlight, and not to use tap water! I also read that using a fish bowl is a good idea to keep it steamy, and also using rocks/pebbles to keep it elevated from the water (but obviously still touching it). So, I went down to a local(ish ) pet shop and bought a plastic fish bowl, got some pebbles from the garden (is that ok? There was very little mud (just little smidges) on them) and I've set it up so hopefully something will grow! The instructions said to use warm (I didn't use tap!) water to mix with the compost tablet, then put it in the pot, put the seeds in, put a little bit more on top. However, I also put warm water in the bottom, to keep it "steamy, swampy" and hopefully warmer. I can see condensation on the bowl, so thats a good thing, right? So, whats the point of the topic? Well, I'm going to be doing weekly updates to see what grows, but also asking for peoples help! I don't have a thermometer, so I'm not sure what temp my room is at. However, I know it's a few C's above normal, as I've got the water boiler in here. I have it on my desk next to me, where sunlight shines onto it. Sadly, my window gets sunlight on it pretty much whenever the sun is out (I'm in rainy old UK btw). However, I have got quite a wide spawn figure shadowing it, so it will get sunlight, but it wont be direct sunlight all the time. I do have some questions though: 1) How can I tell if its at the right temp? Would I really need a thermometer, or would just guessing be ok? 2) How often should I refill the water in the bottom? Whenever the pots not touching it would be my guess, but am I right? 3) Should I use warm water, to keep it swampy/steamy? should it even be steamy or swampy? 4) Is my "rig" that I set up good enough? 5) If it grows (and I hope it does), what can I feed it, and how often? 6) It says I can use "distilled" water, is "still water" bought from shops the same? 7) Would it be a good idea to spray warm water onto/into the bowl, instead of pouring loads into the bottom? 8) The instructions say "cover loosely with a bag"? Is this a good idea? 9) A friend suggested using a lamp light facing down on it to act as the sun (and shading it more) and also give it heat. Would this be a good or bad idea? Obviously I couldn't have it on 24/7, but maybe an hour or so a day? 10) Is "Vikkela" the Finnish word for "Snappy"? If not, what is it? 11) Will the questions stop?! I know thats alot of questions, but I'm hoping that I can get it to work So I wish to know as much as I can, thank you to anyone that can help! Also, I'll be taking one or two photos every sunday, and updating this post with progress The first several weeks will most probably not have much, but then if all goes well, it should hopefully sprout and then if the snappers grow, I'll be able to take pics of it eating things So here we go! Week One - 20th of Feb The set up, kinda hard to see As you can see, it's close to the window, but the Spawn figure should hopefully shade it. Hopefully not too much. Top down view of the pot and compost! I hope all goes well! Week Two - 27th of Feb Nothing new. Not suprised to be honest. But i've not taken any pictures, since there's nothing to see. Week Three - 3th of March Still nothing. But it takes 4 - 8 weeks to grow, so I'm still hoping Week Four - 10th of March Guess what? Nothing new still. I'm starting to think it might not be growing at all. Week Five - 17th of March Nothing at all. I think I didn't do it right I might just buy a fully grown one, anyways, so that the plastic fishbowl wasn't a waste. I'll remember to NOT use still water this time Week Six - 24th of March The only thing that has grown is some kind of white moss. Well, I think it's moss. It's along the sides of the terracotter (spell?) pot. I'm not suprised, really. Damp and warm place. And I think it came from the stones I used, I probably should of properly cleaned them. I'm going to just buy an already grown one, and use all the same stuff. However, I'm going to completely boil the stones to try and get all the crap and what-ever it is that's on them. I'm half tempted to dig up the mud, to see if anything actually grew. However, I might just leave it another few week. Since it said 4 - 8. Any suggestions people? Week Seven - 31st of March Stopped paying attention tbh xD Week Eight - 7th of April Can't really remember...probably same as above... Week Nine - 14th of April Yup, still didn't look... Week Ten - 21st of April See posts: Number 21 and Number 23 for pictures. Week Eleven - 28th of April Well, the venus fly trap had a big boost, but now it seems to of stopped and slowed down... Week Twelve - 5th of May Previously, the venus fly trap was sucking up alot of water. However, when I cleaned off all the white moss/fungus/whatever, it stopped "sucking it up" so fast. Which makes me think that the moss and venus fly trap may be fighting for the resources (in the composty mud mixture, the water, etc). So I went and did something that I probably shouldn't of done. I've flooded the bowl I used very warm/almost boiling water, and filled up the bowl to just under the rim (not right at the top, just the larger rim bit at the top of the terracotta pot) to try and give it plenty of water, but also make it very arm, as I also "trapped" in the heat by loosely placing a plastic sandwhich bag over the top. That was at the start of the week, and we're now coming upto to the end of it, and there doesn't seem to of been much progress. The shoots have grown a small bit, I think, but they're curling inwards...so I'm not sure what's going on

First of all, I would like to clarify specifically what you mean when you say "dragon". If you are referring to a huge fire breathing lizard with enormous wings that flies through the sky and does other cool stuff. Then I believe the answer is no. My interpretation of the whole incident is that there were a very large amount of enormous lizards all across the earth not long ago. These could have been seen by travellers and men being the people that they are, will have over exaggerated all of the beasts features to make themselves sound much more manly. I doubt that any animal has ever or would ever have the ability to breathe fire. That is just silly. Flying lizards however are pretty possible. Considering that both the west and the east have reasonably similar depictions of the beasts (by similar I mean as similar as two breeds of dog from opposite sides of the world look) I think it's very possible that there was a species that was what we think of as a dragon.

Well, your implying that as I have already stated because I do firmly believe, that the universe is infinite. In fairness our versions differ from one another because I believe there is an infinite number of universes but its the same principle.Anyway. If there is an infinite number, and I mean a TRULY infinite number of universes then the chances are that there is an infinite number of us doing the exact same thing having had the past be exactly the same. But that's only saying the chances are. It is almost 100% probable but in fairness it's possible that there are none exactly like this. Think about it it would have to be infinitely specific for this to have happened. And I know what your saying and statistically it is completely intact and you are utterly correct. But there are so many, an infinite number even, of variables that it's just too hard to say. Maybe one day we'll find out.
