  1. Ahh, thanks for watching my back opaque! Thanks!but I'm still wondering if we need to request to get another subdomain like something.trap17.com
  2. Thanks. Well this sounds like it'll get some members. I'll register a subdomain now, and work on it, and then when I get it developed in a month or so I'll get the top level domain.---------------------------------------------edit.just a quick question, if we want to get register another subdomain for our account do we need to get a request approved or can we just go ahead and do it through the cpanel?-------------------------what, like the third or fourth edit? after opaque's post.
  3. Thanks so much for the feedback!Well I was thinking more of people registering as current real countries to make it more realistic, but I might allow made up countries to join, too. The thing I like about registering as real countries is that we could realistically tackle world problems... and although I'm quite a dreamer, maybe, if we really had a good solution, then we could submit it to a UN delegate, or to some government, and maybe just MAYBE we could make a difference. :)Anyway, would you all still want to join if registration was limited to a real country?
  4. Thanks! I'll get on that!Yeah, the link bit has been a problem for me, google usually can't find me .. but we're gonna change all that
  5. I've been thinking.... I'm an active member of my town/states model un and I'm truly in love with the organization. It's the most fun I've ever had.Anyway, I was wondering if I made a site that would have forums that would model the UN where members could join as a country, and there would be a secretary general and the forum directories would be the different UN committees (there would be off topic discussion too), and issues that arise are posted in the corresponding forum. Then countries debate away and propose resolutions and what not, and we'll have voting procedures and whatnot go on, just like model UN and just like the real UN.If I made a site like this would anyone be interested in joining?
  6. My forums still lack the number of active members that would be desirable. I've advertised my site in all my forum sigs, but I need more.I need suggestions for where to advertise, or how to advertise, and get more traffic and more members. Anyone have any ideas? Besides tell your friends to tell their friends to tell their friends..? becuase that hasn't been working lately.thanks!
  7. Just be considerate, be nice and being fun doesn't hurt either, have a sense of humor! Also, the hygeine is a must... please....don't fake anything though, just be yourself, if the girl is not impressed, then you know she's not right for you
  8. Thanks so much! It's getting close to when I finally get my own domain! I'm pretty excited. I think I'll write an announcement a week or so before, but I'll still use the subdomain to domain redirecting.
  9. In the future for when I get a top level domain, is it possible to keep my current Xisto subdomain and have it forward to the new domain, just in case visitors do not know that the domain has changed?
  10. Well, I'm not sure guys would deny that. Most guys actually aren't for the strong alpha male image, and most guys aren't for denial. Actually, most men I know are very simple people, they tell you how they feel and they mean it.
  11. Ah, thanks CarlU, I feel special for being quoted .Also you've got to keep in mind that when playing those online rpg's people who "fall in love" in those games don't see the actual person, they see the character. And it's pretty obvious that the characters in the game were created to be appealing to the eye, or else not as many people would want to play it. So really players get attracted to the character graphics, and combine that with what the character says, so you're mixing aspects of the game with aspects of the real person playing the game, if that makes any sense. Anyway, keeping that in mind, it's not real love.
  12. Well, most of those people that are playing those games are adolescents, which means all those hormones are acting up, even when playing online! So, I guess marrying online and all that jazz is more like a fantasy than anything; I guess it's a more advanced form of playing pretend. If that makes sense at all. They know that it will (probably) never be all it is is just pretend, so it doesn't really matter if they know the person or have seen the person or not, it's not all that serious, or I've never seen those online marriage things as too serious, I guess there might be people out there who really get into it..
  13. I'm not quite sure if this is what you want, but the cpanel to your account is yourdomain/cpanel. (ex. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) but I'm not sure if that's what you want.. hope I could help.
  14. Haha, nice topic. I don't read many weird books but I've read a couple. I remember DEAR, my school had it, too... so glad all that is over.Anyway, the most messed up book I've probably read is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Which is quickly followed by probably a Kurt Vonnegut book. I've read a couple of them (Cat's Cradle and Slaughter House Five) those are pretty messed up, too, but so good! Kurt Vonnegut is seriously one of the best weird authors I know. And Fear and Loathing was, well, pretty funny, I'm not sure if it was supposed to be
  15. Meat Eaters - I'm sorry if people eat meat, perhaps vegitarians are brainwashed because they think they just don't need all that meat, or they are brainwashed into thinking that animals have a consciousness that matches humans. There's a reason we eat animals, and animals don't drive cars, we evolved into a higher life form Religious Followers (any religion) - I agree, not the cult part though; children are taught at a young age, before they can think for themselves, so even if they wanted to choose what they would want to follow, it's difficult, given that their parents forced them to go to church every sunday as a child, or something along those lines Republicans - I'm sorry, I'm not republican, but I'm not a democrat either, there are two parties, with different ideas. If republicans are brainwashed, then so are democrats. a balance is what we need White Men - are you kidding me? SUV drivers - I think SUV's are ugly, that's all I have to say to that. Capitalists - why don't you head on over to a third world country or a communist one. If you don't like capitalism, it's not our fault. How do you think the US and Western Europe got so advanced? Why do you think Russia's economy is crumbling while the US, UK, and German economies are booming? Why do you think you can afford a computer to post this on? CAPITALISM. If you don't like it, go to a developing nation and stop complaining. ---- My opinion, is Brian you need to be a bit more optimistic. You complain about too many things, sounds like you're a spoiled brat to be honest... sorry to break it to you so bluntly.
  16. Well, one restaurant owner can barely represent all of a religion's followers. Just like there are ignorant Muslims there are ignorant Christians, ignorant Jews, ignorant Agnostics, there are ignorant everythings. I think it is unfair to base your opinion of muslims on one person, maybe you're being the ignorant one. If the restaurant owner is truly much lower than you, then you should be able to ignore his ignorant remarks. It as simple as that, his ignorance is his own shortcoming, or maybe it's his blessing (according to the quote "ignorance is bliss"), but either way it's his fault.
  17. I was wondering if it is possible to have two domains for one hosting account, top level domains. Like http://www.something.com/ and http://ww2.something2.com/?folio=9POR7JU99 for the same hosting account. And my other question is what are parked domains?thanks.
  18. Well I guess that would seem the logical sequence of events. It's really too bad people cheat on their boyfriends or girlfriends... I don't see why they would, I guess greed is just human nature.
  19. Well I guess the truth does hurt sometimes. He seems like a reasonable kid. I'm glad things kind of worked out and you two are still friends. That's always a good thing.I guess there's nothing to do, just don't think about the ordeal much, put it behind you, but don't forget it completely. It's kind of like a lesson learned that you can watch out for later in life.
  20. Wow, that's quite a series of events. I think you should make it clear to him that what he did is not very nice, and indeed it is disrespectful, tell him that he cannot escape reality like that forever. This happened me kind of, too. Except I knew the person and I met with him/her everyday. They told me that a friend of theirs died in a car accident, then months later they told me their friend was actually in a coma, and that he/she had memory loss. Then my friend lied about some other things, and I just didn't know what to believe. I'm not even sure if there was a car crash. These things happen, people want to pretend, people want attention. This is a very sticky situation, I think you two should still talk, but let him now how it made you feel, let him know what he did was not right.
  21. This happened to me once, where I couldn't do get in on one computer, but then on the other computer the same password works, and then I came back later and my password worked again. But I'm sure I had some weird setting turned on or something, everything works fine for me now.
  22. Wow, I thought the opposite of them and was apprehensive about buying a domain from them, but I guess it turns out that big companies can have good customer service. That's a pretty good story, very enlightening, thanks, Lucas. And you've done godaddy.com a favor by saying this, too, I might think about buying my domain from them now, instead.
  23. You're not giving people much of an incentive. Would you build my website for free if I asked you to? Try offering us something, for the knowledge of PHP these days is very valuable. The ones who can make this website for you are worth a lot more than you're offering them, so keep that in mind.
  24. Very interesting piece there, I didn't read through all of them, but I agree with the ones I did.
  25. I agree, it's a cycle. Our alternatives also don't look so great either, why don't we all just stop burning fossil feuls, and why don't we all just stop our lives while we're at it, too. If we start slowly however, like with hybrid cars, then I think we can control the problem. And anyway, how long will humans stay on the earth anyway? 95% of all species have died out, aren't we next?I'm not worrying much about global warming, I'll be long dead before anyone feels any of the effects, and as just a mere citizen there is really nothing I can do and nothing I have time to do. As simple as that.
