I need to transfer it to a computer that doesn't have Internet access. If I download the IE6SP1 installer, I cannot install it on the other computer because it doesn't have internet access. I need the full installer. Anyone know where to find it. Thanks.

FirefoxRocks replied to itsmyard's topic in Software
IE rendering? Not sure if I want it. It looks neat though.I could never make a browser, so: Good Job! :)Maybe you should join the browser committee, there's enough browsers going around and we are all trying to standardize the browsers. -
Help With Webhosting index.html?
FirefoxRocks replied to FirefoxRocks's topic in Web Hosting Support
Please read my edit. I just figured that out!Could someone answer the question now? -
I need help with my webhosting. Whenever I access http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/, this comes up: I have logged into cPanel, changed the Email address and password. Uploading the index.html and other files to the server, I have replaced the old page. I have cleared the cache, forms, etc and it still says the above message. Can I get some help here? My files are on the server. EDIT: Problem now detected. index.html file is in the public_html directory. Does every file need to be in that directory?

Cracking programs...I hate it.Using P2P...yesCopying a few pages from books...yesDownloading MP3's...yesStolen a chocolate bar...noMy point is, running into a shop and stealing the software isn't much different than cracking. Cracked software can be spyware, viruses, trojan, etc. Nearly all seraill, cracking, warez, etc sites are rated DANGEROUS on the McAfee SiteAdvisor rating extension.I admit it, I've cracked 2 programs before. I don't use them anymore, but I have still done it. They only costed about $20 CAD.

NO problem. I wouldn't pay to search the FREE internet. There's eXcite, Lycos, Yahoo!, MSN, Ask Jeeves, LookSmart and not to mention GahooYoogle. These search engines should find what I'm looking for.

Increasing Traffic To My Site any suggestions how
FirefoxRocks replied to Estupido's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Ok, make sure it attracts visitors. No blinking ads, animated ads, popups and popunders, etc.Add some free services such as crosswords, etc. You can find most of these services on Google. Free web content is a good way to start. Make sure they are ad free. A small text ad is okay, nothing bright and flashing though.Ensure your site has good navigation. Don't make users click 10 links down to find pieces of info.Include a feedback form. Users can give suggestions to your site.Make non-animated ads so that other websites can display YOUR ad on thier pages.Advertise (but don't spam) on Usenet, Google Groups, forums, etc. Make sure your message gets through to people in a nice and firm manner.Sign up for Traffic Exchanges that don't utilize pop-unders or popups. These can be helpful sometimes. That's all I can think about for now. -
I used to use WinZip. I sometimes still install it to make Self-Extracting EXE files. I have tried WinRAR, I think that program is awesome. However, it is only Shareware. If you are comparing WinRAR to WinZip, WinRAR is better. However, it needs to be paid for. WinZip is nagware, waiting for xx seconds and click Continue.I prefer ZipGenius. You can download it from Download.com. It is freeware and it can perform functions somewhat between WinRAR and WinZip. Give it a try.

I personally use FireFTP, the tab that loads in Firefox. I use it to access one of my other web hosting providers. Now I use AceFTP 3 along with AceHTML 6. You can download the freeware from Download.com or thier own website. AceFTP says that it is Shareware, however once you register your email address it becomes Freeware.Hope this helps.

Incorrect forum notice:This is not the correct method for these types of posts. If you want to post something like this, please go to a RuneScape forum or another forum within the runescape website. In the meantime, why don't you give away some free gold?

Phishing: A method of identity theft carried out through the creation of a website that seems to represent a legitimate company. The visitors to the site, thinking they are buying something from a real business, submit their personal information to the site. The criminals then use the personal information for their own purposes, or sell the information to other criminal parties.Phishing (my definition): A person, group or organization creating a website that represents a very popular company or business. Unsuspecting people visit the site and enter personal information, therefore allowing the info to be sent to the certain criminal (group). This info can be used to develop adware, spam your address or resold to other criminal organizations or groups.

Google Desktop 4 has been released. It is featured on the Download.com front page at time of writing.I think that Google Desktop Search is an excellent internal search tool for your computer. Have you tried the plug-ins? They are GREAT!Anyways, I use the Google Desktop Search to show my RSS Feeds. Good idea?

Recommended POP3 clients:1. Mozilla Thunderbird2. Opera (included with browser)3. SeaMonkey (incl. w/ browser and composer)4. Eudora5. Outlook Express (yuck!)If you have Yahoo! Mail or Google Mail, using the web interface is much like a POP3 client, and is actually much better. It provides more features, and I think it looks really nice.

You actually don't need a web server port open. That will open up an oppertunity for MANY hackers too. Yikes! If you are willing to pay for $69.95 a year, you can get LogMeIn Pro to remotely access your computer and also the following features:File Sharing, File Transfer, Secure Access, Remote Control and also Remote Printing. However, you can try LogMeIn Pro for 30 days and then either buy it or use LogMeIn Free, which only allows Remote Control.

That's not very helpful advice. My computer did do that once. Unplugging it didn't work. Turns out I had to turn off all electricity for the computer circuit from the fuse box.It was a complete power drainage from the PowerBar that caused it to restart.Anyways, thanks for the tip. It might help others.

FirefoxRocks replied to mayank's topic in Software
In my opinion, Firefox is the best. However, when Internet Explorer 7 comes out, my website will have to made to be quadruple IE Engine compatible.Best browsers in order:Firefox, Opera, Netscape, Mozilla/SeaMonkey, Flock (not out yet), Avant Browser, Maxthon, Internet Explorer, MSN ExplorerI try to make my site the most compatible, but it is taking too much time. -
I really don't believe in eBay. Anyways, I don't use eBay anyways. It is an auction. There is a risk of no bids.I'd rather sign up for Mail-In money services (which I don't really like) than this eBay thing.

Yahoo Mailbox Skin New Yahoo MailBox
FirefoxRocks replied to farsiscript's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Yahoo! Mail BETA is the new Webmail service.I prefer the BETA version because personally, I think it looks a bit like Mozilla Thunderbird. THe BETA version behaves like a POP3 client such as Mozilla Thunderbird and Outlook Express.Having this capability is very useful becuase you can access the mail anywhere. The interface navigation has got smoother and faster. However, I still prefer Yahoo! Mail and GMail over MSN Hotmal and ShinyFeet. The functionality, interface and overall quality is much better in GMail and Yahoo! Mail. -
Toolbars can be good, can be spyware.Check with the site and Secunia before downloading anything. McAfee SiteAdvisor for Firefox will also help. The Google Toolbar, well it is helpful. Not only to webmasters but to everyone. It gives me a quick access search box, gmail, desktop search, word highlighting and shows the popularity of a page.It even gives me an RSS subscribe feature to the Google Personalized page.My Home Page isn't Google, it is SpreadFirefox.com therefore the Google Toolbar is useful.
