  1. Can You Please Tell Me What Bugs Did You Found In Windows XP Service Pack 2 ??

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I've read something about Div-x codec won't work with XP service pack 2, but mine works fine.. Some other bugs that i found:

    - when i've pushed reset button once, computer rebooted, windows was attempting to make scandisk, and erased all my desktop and user date, blanking it to empty acount, like i've created new account.

    - no other bugs found...

  2. Unfortunately, I'm not entire clear about what you're asking.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Im asking for a program that will measure audio file and output variables to a TEXT file in form of numbers from 0 to 100, like when it's silent on audio file nubers would be 0, if it's at maximum power then it's above 100... something like lever meter outputed to text file for every specified milisecond of song... ;)

now where can i get that? ;)

  3. Anyone here know maybe some audio software which can analyze wav sound and then output to txt file level of sound, in number format, from 0 to 100.??? I need it for some application, so far i found just SpectrumAnalyser but it's too complex to use, and not giving correct output...

  4. developers for Windows should really stop copying works of other Operating System

Ok, first of all let me explain by quoting what this "BartPE" is actualy:

Bart's PE Builder helps you build a "BartPE" (Bart Preinstalled Environment) bootable Windows CD-Rom or DVD from the original Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 installation/setup CD, very suitable for PC maintenance tasks.

It will give you a complete Win32 environment with network support, a graphical user interface (800x600) and FAT/NTFS/CDFS filesystem support. Very handy for burn-in testing systems with no OS, rescuing files to a network share, virus scan and so on.

This will replace any Dos bootdisk in no time!

    That's quoted from here.

    Only some part's are copycuted:

    Used tools/information

    PE Builder uses the following:

Mkisofs.exe by Joerg Schilling (GNU-GPL license) for building the ISO image.

I've patched the mkisofs.c source file so that filenames in iso level 4 are stored in uppercase.

    Source file: cdrtools-2.01a18-bart.zip (3.2MB)

For latest version check Joerg's FTP site.

The Cygwin DLL (cygwin1.dll) by The Cygwin group at Red Hat, Inc. (GNU-GPL license).

    Source file: cygwin-1.5.2-1-src.tar.bz2 (6.42MB)

Bst5 (free edition) by Bart Lagerweij (Nu2 license)

Nu2Menu by Henk de Jong (Nu2 license) (included with PE Builder with permission from author).

Any i'm very good with linux, using it now for 7-8 years...but still im supporting thablkpanda on this debate, coz he's right on that. windows users may want to have same possibilites like linux users...

  5. Ok,here's the deal. Every time when I try to make a search if it's set to search on mycomputer, or only C:\ disk, after few secund of searching it crashes coputer, causing a massive processor & memory usage, and simply halts and block the whole system. then i must reboot.I'm suspecting it's a virus maybe, but sophos v.3.87 founds nothing.Any ideas on how to solve that? Btw. it's my computer from work, it has been about 2 years from last reinstall of winxp. I'm starting to believe that winxp can degrade itself after few years...

  6. Does anyone know of any decent/good freeware(or cheap software ~$10) that will allow me to edit mp3's or wav's and drag/drop in new peices so i can add stuff to songs or just edit stuff out i dont want? any help will be much appreciated.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

and why not try to give professionals to take care of audio remixing, and do not waste time do to hard work yourself if you don't know how or with what to do it?

...and by the way, Cool Edit is good software for your needs. and if you get some plugins for it, you will have nice recording/remixing simple-home-program.

  7. Yesterday i tried some software for watching TV with my tv card. It's name is Borg. (a.k.a. "you will be asimilated..." and so on... i try it for few minutes... and then whoooops - blue screen! in windows xp! i've never seen it before ever... So, I've cooled down, slightly put my finger on reset button, and pressed it. Ok it boots now. but what the f. is this now? again windows notifys me to check the disks for errors... ok so i'm waiting while damn win. is checking disks... so, windows finds some errors and repair them... Login screen comes up, I click my user name, inputed my password, and whoila! no icons, no my documents, no data, no NOTHING!. Damn, "smart" windows somekindofstupidrecovery wipes out my whole account. Ok, im not pissed off jet... Im rebooting again, and again... nothing. still the same... so finaly im recoverying my disk with some undelete software, and again nothing.. few minutes later i found my files and data from desktop in hidden system folder on c:\found.000. Yes! my data is back again... but then like the storm from the blue sky, it happens again - blue screen.. rebooting. again few seconds after login, blue scr. now some different error type... so im again in endless loop... After few hours, in 3:30 am i've discovered that my memory freq. is set too high and i've put it down on 266mhz. (how did it work before dunno...)... but still getting that blue screens, and winexplorer shuts down ever 6 secunds... im suspecting for a virus now in later installed program (borg tv)... Scanning whole discs... Nothing found. Ok. Im pisssed now. Formating disc. Installing windows. Getting some copy errors while installing...?? Im kicking my head on the wall, and thinking - maybe it's because of sp2??... hm.. using old win2k cd with only sp1 on it.. getting the same copy errors but different files while installing... Ok. Formatting disc again. And again... And after 3 disc formats... finaly windows was able to comply and install properly... So you ask do I consider switching to linux?DAMN YES.I've got Fedora Core 2, and tomorow I'll go out and buy an DVD reader/writter and install it... and fancy windows will go on second disc, just for backup needs... :D:D:D

  8. I'm using GeForce4 MX440, 64M DDR, on 4x AGP (it's 8x, but my mb only supports upto 4x), and all games I play run smoothly... As with all brands, it's about what you like more, GeForce, or Radeon... And, ofcourse, depends on types of games you'll play... I play mostly strategies, MiG-29 (it's like 5 years old), and NFSU2... and it all works for me... And gfx card only costs about 50 euros :D

Check out benchmark sites to see wich card is best for your needs... :D

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Is there much diference in performance from 8x to 4x?. My motherboard also runs at 4x. I have feeling that it will crash performance at least by 30% if 8x card is in 4x slot.

  9. Just go out on boxing day or go to some cheap store that builds clone computers and check there. You should try to get something that is 128-256 mb and 8x or more if they have them.  You should try to get a radeon not a gforce. Radeons are said to be better. I don't see much difference though.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

thanks man. but I still think that geforce are better. Many software aplications suport them as well...

  10.
