  1. I love this word, so I thought I'd share it with all of you.'Niggling' refers to being petty--especially when arguing about things. For instance, arguing about how long someone took to get ready to leave the house would fall into this catagory. As well as most other squables between siblings, or people flaming eachother on the internet.
  2. Ok, I'll spare you all of the pro firefox propaganda. You all know it is the best browser out there--else you wouldn't be reading this page. Here are a few of my favorite extentions (plugins): 1) Adblock An absolute essential for me. Are you sick of all those obnoxious banner ads? Of popups? Of flash ads? Well adblock lets you remove all of them. The interface is great, and it is encredibly customisable. I'm so used to using it that when I use a different computer I and shocked at how much visual polution exists on the web. For those of you with fast computers, you can download adblock lists which will remove 99% of the ads from the web without you having to do anything. Unforunatly, this may cause lag if you're using an older computer. But, no worries, you can just make your own custom rules to block ads on the pages that you visit. 2) Faster Fox This extention has many options that you can tweak to make firefox even faster. It also has an option to fix the flaw exploited by some advertisers to make popups using flash. -------- EDIT: -------- 3) Forgot one other great extention: Stumble Upon. When you first download it you are asked to select your interests. The options range from Cats, to Islam, to online games, and everything in between. Then, whenever you are bored you select a catagory off your list and click the stumble button. It will then take you to a webpage about that subject. From there you decide if you like the page or not and then you rate it. Stumbleupon then compares these ratings to other people's, and then tries to show you pages that it thinks you'd like based on your previous ratings. It contains absolutely no spyware or ads, and they don't (to my knowledge) collect any personal information. What extentions can't you live without?
  3. Tribes remains, in my humble opinion, one of the absolute best online first person shooters ever. Despite the fact that it was created over six years ago (a life time in computer land) it still retains a descent size player base. In fact, it has more active players than the two sequels (tribes 2, and tribes: Vengance) combiened! Further more, it is now %100 free ware. Download a copy here: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ If you want something with a high learning curve play base or the HaVoC mod--but be warned that there are lots of vetrans around. If you want something more fast paced (more action...e.g. killing etc) try the annihilation mod, or renagades. If you have any questions feel free to stop in any pushbiscuit server (denoated by the <!> tag), and we'll try to help you. You can also talk to us on our forum at: http://ww2.pushbiscuit.com/?folio=9POR7JU99 Hope to see some new players, as this game is a hell of alot of fun.
  4. I'm largely against supporting "trendy" culture (e.g. rampid consumerism brought on by heavy advertising to create fashion trends)--so it took me a while to try out the Ipod.A few months back my RioVolt SP250 (a cd/mp3 player) died, and so i was in the market for a new one. I had concidered buying a mp3 player, but they all seemed rather expencive. Then one of my friends offered to sell me her old Ipod mini for $20. As it was cheaper than even cd/mp3 players I happily agreed.I've had an ipod for about two months now, and I'm pretty satified. My only complaints are: 1) The battery is buggy--it sometimes dies and won't allow me to recharge it. 2) It isn't capible of reading the track number off of the ID3 tag, which is rather obnoxious because you need to make a playlist for each album that you want to hear in the correct order. 3) Itunes sucks (atleast for the PC)...but that is easily remided if you use another program, like Winamp with a plugin. 4) Only 3.5gb of space...but it's a mini...Conclusion: Not a bad buy for $20, but i certainly wouldn't pay the $150 it was retailing for.
