  1. I don't know for sure if every 360 X-Box has that defect. What I heard is almost the same thing you wrote, that they were gettign hot fast. Here in Mexico, some say that the manufacturers have already changed the cooling system, so it works now just fine. I hope someone around could tell us the truth, however, I am willing to wait until the next version of the X-Box, wich I really hope will have fixed problems the 360 has now.
  2. I got as a ringtone that song the very-rich-basketball-player likes in the "White chicks" movie, I just don't really remember the name, what I like is that I can remember a couple funny things of the movie. Also, sometimes I use the Rugrats theme.
  3. Hey guys, I love thats game, UT, and I have heard there are more maps int the internet. I have found some files, but I have no idea of what to do with those. Some one has a clue? Where could I get some of them and how to use 'em???Thanks in advance.
  4. This problem is not uncommon at all. I can see the most logical solutions have been posted. A couple more things to try are taking the HDD to another computer, wich could even give the chance to back up files, if needed, and some times using the right application, you could fix the HDD. In some cases, tha computer turns out to be a lap top, and it's not very easy to take the HDD and install it in a nother computer, you would need a cable converter or something like an adapter. I would suggest using Knoppix, wich detects many of the main components of computers and enables you to use network cards, that way you can back up. Of course, as has already been said, the most straight and quick solution is to boot using the CD ROM, eliminate partitions and format. To me that's the last resource, but if you don't mind deleting stuff, it's ok.
  5. I don't know much about the very first games of FPS or RPGs or wathever, I just would like to say that I enjoyed Unreal Tournamenta lot, it has good effects, is not that demanding about hardware and offers good on line options to bust your budys' b***s , yet, when alone I really loved Quake II and Half Life series. I'm waiting for a chance to get Quake 4, I like games with a story also.
  6. Well, I got a 128MB for my Zire Palm, mostly used for multimedia stuff and a 32MB SD for a digital camera. I have been loking forward to get a flash memory stick, but so far my camera has solved every need. Total: 2
  7. Thanks illdevilinc.I always try to fix specific problems, without big actions, yet, that thing of recovering is for sure. Now I don't need the modem, so I'll take my time to keep trying. If I find the solution I'll let you know.
  8. One million thanks!!! I had heard of it, but usually I Netbeans, even a simple notepad or a simple editor, but I guess it's time to try something different.I'll try it!!! I'll start downloading it right away!!Thanks again!
  9. believer I've been using microcontrollers for a short time, but as far as I can tell, they can be used in any way you want. As some say, the sky is the limit, but I would doubt that. Microcontrolers, as any other technology, get more advanced and get new features with time. As a brief description, they are small computers, wich lack of some high level interfaces, but they have ports, RAM, ROM, need power supply, calculate things, etc., and some include Analog-Digital and Digital-Analog converters wich make them powerful computers able to work with sensors. Ah, for using 'em, you need a computer to write the program, an IDE for testing, if possible, and a programmer- a little box connected to your PC. In that box you put your MC to write to it your program. What could you do? A simple calculator, a countdown counter, a clock, a simple robot that follows lines or light. a light dimmer... You could control an enire house's electrical system (lights, doors, etc.). Using sensors, you could have the MC tell if someone is around, so it can turn the lights on, or off if there's no one in a certain room. Among my personal projects, I want to make a complex robot able to navigate around my house, like a pet, and something more serious, a system to sense and give lectures of everything that's going on in my car. After that, I'd love to have my car RC To me, MCs are simple to understand, and you could program them using C instead of an assembly languaje, so you won't have to suffer But the hard part comes when trying to create an interface with a machine or to understand how to use those thousands of other electronic components. For learning, I've found Microchip's PICs are a good choice, so are Motorola's MCs. 10. Does someone know where to get this emulator? For the Nokia 3220b, I'm using Nokia's Series 40 SDK 3d edition. It works fine, but I would like to see my own phone in the screen Hope there's something. Thanks.
  11. Hi every one. This is a brief story of something that happened to me a couple days ago. I have a ze4400 laptop, and a 2Wire router, wich can be accessed by USB, ethernet and wireless connections. I first connected my lap to the router usin ethernet and configured everything to work like that, I found the router registered my lap's name. I did so, because I couldn't get my lap to detect the router wireless signal. So I did this:1-Downloaded the newest driver. Didn't solve it2- Downloaded a tool to manage the wireless connectio. Finally my lap detected the router's signal!! 3- Now I found I couldn't use the connection I changed the channel, changed signal strenght, changed as many parameters as I could in desperation. Just about being defeated I tried one last thing. Changed the name of the computer. I didn't know and guessed it could be of importance, but suddenly I was checking my email and all that things using my wireless connection I found that in no tutorial or guide. I find that kinda weird. Someone knows where I could find something that explains that??
  12. So far, I'be just played Need For Speed Under Ground and Most Wanted, and I've seen NFSU2, and to me NFSU is the best, because I enjoy its music and the visual effects, and offers good driving control. Any way, I'm sure I would like to play them all. Thanks EA!
  13. It's a great game. One thing, I'm kinda loist, does someone know the chronological order of the Need For Speed games???? I've heard there's NFSU, NFU2, Most Wanted, Black Edition, 3,4
  14. Thanks to you all for reading and writting!!! Now I feel encouraged to start woth J2ME programming! I guess I'll start with Netbeans and some other stuff from Nokia, they seem reliable. I'm sure we'll hear more and more of that in the years to come, as the mobile phones are more advanced. As soon as I make something serious I'll let you know! Thanx again!
  15. Just one that follows a black line on a white surface I think the simplest of all, yet I enjoyed making it, from CDROMs and wrecked toys, and trying to make it run faster. By the way, I don't like lego stuff, metal and screws hold a lot more rude duty, jajajaja. At least I had more fun cutting and designing.
  16. I haven't been in any other country than mine, but talking with people that have traveled a lot I've found that many countries have many celebrations much alike or to celebrate the same thing, as that fools day. Does some one else know if there's another calendar day for that thing in Japan for example??
  17. Well, that was clear enough. MUDs are RPGs. And it seems they haven't been lost at all, yet many people have not even hear of them. What I liked most, was that you used your imagination a lot, of course, the descriptions had to be good. Thanks a lot for the replies, I learned a couple things I didn't know and I'll look for some existing MUDs.
  18. I wonder, are MUds RPG games? They were great when Internet started to spread all over the world, I remember using PC without HDD Jajajaja, and you had to use a diskette in order to start the OS and another one to access the net. Well, old times. Does some one still play those?I liked kikcin' some ugly worms and when frustated, some sorry dogs
  19. This all looks good. But about taxes, does some one know where we could find information?? What if I live in Mexico???
  20. Right now I don't have the link at hand, but for each component (PHP, Apache, etc.) there are good tutorials for the newest versions by separated, it's only a matter of looking for them using a search engine. To me, they are the best combination, not because they are free, they're really reliable and "lite"
  21. That's true, it depends on each system. I'll follow your advice, thanks. Also I guess Motorola must have something to start with at they site, somewhere The package was nitron, and I found this, have not really checked them, but seem good for a start. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I'll keep looking for those tutorials and post them here as soon as I find good ones. Here, in my city, I can get Microchips pics easily, not Motorolas that's the only bad thing, but the worst that could happen is that I would have to wait for a package to get here. I think 'em both are good options. Does some one know of other good brands??? They are the only ones I have ever used. I would like to know of others, it is always good to have options.
  22. Wow! I remember when I was a kid I tried to play some of those songs witha flute! =PJajaja, of course it was ..er... kind of ugly. But they did a great job, and the coreography was ingenius (?) mmmm, so funny!! it made me laugh and remember good old times, especially with the Zelda scene Thanks for sharing.
  23. I haven't use it, I'm beggining with this web manager stuff, but seems useful. Thanks a lot for the tutorial, it works fine.
  24. Before anything else, I apologize for my writting errors and any wrong fact I tell you here.I like that day. In my country we have a day close in meaning to that, related to the Bible (Catholic). By the days when Jesus was born, Herodes (sorry if the name isn't the right one), the king, sent some people to kill every baby, because he didn't know wich one was The One. He was foolished, the people who were supposed to kill Jesus didn't do it, but told him that the job was done. That day was 28th December. Here it's called something like Holy Innocent's day. Feel free to make any corrections.
