1. Here's my summary:I play it, I love it, it requires a good system for a good experience online, and again, I love it. It may be my first MMORPG, but it beats out Everquest any day.
2. Thank you I'm very happy with the reviews. I didn't think they looked that great to me, but I still felt some pride in making them. I guess I just have a lot of work to do to make the templates more accessible, but I should start on my own site first if I need to.If you could inspect them more critically, I'd be extremely happy. I know that I have to make my navigation using lists if I want to agree with web-standards, but if you can diagnose any other problems (slow loading times, misplaced tags, etc) and let me know, I would probably cheer extremely loudly and then get to work. I know that whenever I self edit my work, mainly my writing and drawings, I either trash it or I mess it up somehow. Feedback is definitely my friend
3. No worries! I don't mind if you take the code, Panda - that's how I started out learning too. It's like a crutch. And Static, I'd love to see your site if you could PM me or whatever. If you need any help, don't be afraid to ask - I'll shell out new ones for blogs when I can work my coding better
4. And who's to say that said drums actually conjured spirits? How do you know it's the devil? You're assuming far too much, which is why I'm going on about my thing. Tribal music and ancestor worship are common - maybe this author fused the two together to make some sort of religious statement - hint: anything used in the Bible is good? Because that's what you're getting at. It wasn't a very technologically advanced age. Drums were made in much the same way, especially because Islamic influence throughout the Middle East and Africa brought a lot of people closer together intellectually.
5. OK, for one, you shouldn't close font tags if you didn't open them. Doing a style attribute within a paragraph does not require closing the attribute that you used. Take all of those out first (and there are a lot) Secondly, one of your META tags, the second one I believe, is kinda screwed up. Yours says: <META NAME="KEYWORDS and it needs that last quotation mark or it won't work. And the last mistake I could find was this image source: Yours says: <img style="width: 350px; height: 225px;" margin: 20px; alt="" src="/background/Cross.jpg" align="right" border="0">. Don't close that quotation until after the "margin:20px;" part. All of those combined ought to clear up the validation...or at least let me see what else is wrong with the coding. And I suppose the buttons are nice...but the colors are still trippy. I mean, this is a religious personal site. Blasts of blue and green, black and white, aren't going to make the mood any more serious than it is now.
6. The lyrics aren't too great - they're extremely simple...and the shouting kind of pulls me away from the song. Especially when it doesn't feel related. If the tune's great, then, well, awesome for you guys.
7. Because it can't be true - because they're merely drums. Drums have been in use for a while. Drums are inanimate objects. There are no spirits inside of them - most of my best friends are percussion players. The Ouija board was not created for evil - because there is no real evil. It's just a game, just one of those dare things. In the days of animism, talking to spirits was normal, which is where the Ouija board probably had its roots. What powers the board is your own mind. Or at least that's how the cheap plastic version works. At any rate, our spiritual lives are not at risk, mine because I believe there is no true evil in the world, and the others because we all realize drums can't be possessed, and if they could, how scary would that be? "Oh no! I can only play cadences again and again!"Sorry if I'm biased, but that's what marching band and years of piano does to you @_@
8. That's not a suspended type of error. Simply take off the slash at the end of your link and try it again. If you were trying to access your Cpanel, make sure you do yoursite.com/cpanel, and not Xisto.com/cpanel - that might fix things.
9. Weird. If you don't want to do it now, it's not too big of a deal. You can always work your way towards it inch by inch. Great design though
10. It's usually just whatever's on your mind. I spelled out my dog's name three times while playing almost unconciously (she was sick that day )
11. A Ouija board is simply a game - I've played it countless times at birthday parties. I told you, it's nothing more than cheap thrills. It does not get off the ground at all. It's a piece of wood, although it's usually plastic. To rise, it would have to brush off the static electricity which wood can't conduct very well. And it's completely harmless. It may be unnatural if it moves, but it's not possessed. I don't deny there are supernatural beings out there - I just deny there being such a split between good and evil. I have different gods, and different beliefs. Hinduism doesn't have a clear evil force - there's what's moral and immoral. My religion has a huge history with the supernatural, from asuras to vampires, etc. And also, Hinduism + possession = ? : We don't really have any scenarios of it. It's just a Christian thing, I assume.
12. Your site is very slow loading because of the images but I love the images. Lemme fix up your CSS issue. Your current background code is: background-image: url(BG.gif); Try this instead: background: transparent url(BG.gif); You might also want to try setting a repeat or fixing it in position, depending on what you want. For example to have your image repeat along the y axis of something (top to bottom), add: repeat-y; And for things like repeating vertically, add: repeat-x; And here's how you fix it in place. fixed no-repeat; Enjoy!
13. A few bazillion. My poor little brain can't count that high.
14. The colors are extremely ewie, the banner could use a bit of work, but the over all layout is probably fine. Just pleeeeease fix the colors. They clash a lot
15. That's kind of odd now that you mention it because all these supposed possessions - were they just a way of saying that "you're not on the safe list anymore"? And possessions can happen to the fervent religious as well as non-believers. Heck, you could be a pastor and still be at "risk" for it. Although I still hold my ground on the animate/inanimate debate.
16. True, I removed that almost by accident before doing each new layout. I guess I can always revamp them with lists. And I dunno, I've done a few big header images. The small ones seem to be kind of quaint to the design. It focuses more attention on the content of the page. But my friend will be happy that you agreed with her on the fact of the background. I surveyed a few of my friends before I put it up and 1/3 said it was blurry. I can always lower the opacity. PSDs are a godsend. And yeah, since the size of the images are concerning some of you guys, it'll be no problem saving them as .gifs.Thanks, Ty
17. It doesn't look too bad at all (I'm using Firefox) aside from the colors...and the rest of it. If it's your grandma's, what does it have your username? Also, what exactly is it? I know viva is "live!" because "vita" means life. And with the Spoono reference, the two of them look very different.
18. Hehe, yeah, I went overboard on images for the second one. They both seem to load instantaneously (and that's saying something, since my internet is usually oogly) but I'll go back and make them .gifs if other people have the same trouble that you have. What's the point of having a template if it never loads? :PThanks though
19. I think that your topic's OK because it's in the "Make Money Online" section. Don't worry! And wow...$5,000? Are those American dollars? That would totally buy me like...3,000 cats. Not that I want 3,000 cats. But I would like a car. And a few cats.
20. OMGZ you're twice my age, but you can do cool things in ASP, probably. This equates 30,000 coolness points. Anyways, enjoy the site! If you need any help, I have no life, so I'm almost always online - or you can find a mod to wrassle your way through forum posting. Hope you enjoy your account when you get it! T17 rocks
21. Basically, yes. You "buy" things with credits which you earn by making quality posts on the forum. The credit system is automatic. Once you make a post, you gain a certain amount of credits. This was Opaque's brainchild :PAnd you can read the rest of what Saga wrote - he's gonna lead you the right way
22. OMGZ this script rocks!250.16 days = 250 day(s), 3 hour(s) and 50 minute(s)Gawsh...you guys have to bear with me for another year almost @_@Great work on it, though! <3
23. Still, the Bible apparently takes place around 2,000 years ago, and up till about 10,000 years, which contradicts scientific history, but whatever. That's 2,000 years of tradition that's been literally interpreted and maybe then, it was a scary thing - but in this day and age, we have a lot more to be afraid of than ghostly drums. Is the board you mentioned a Ouija board? Because other than for cheap thrills and a fright that lasts maybe a minute at a slumber party, there's nothing harmful about it. Just because something levitates doesn't mean it's the devil. I believe the supernatural and the devil have nothing to do with one another. The devil symbolizes the evil and vice and sin within a Christian belief system - as long as my religion maintains its devil-free outlook, I'm not worried about it. Quite frankly, I'm more afraid than UFOs because it seems a closer possibility. I believe there is life on other planets and one of these days, we might meet them or vice versa. Also, fear is being afraid of being afraid - it's the fear of the suspense filling that moment. If I'm the one being skeptical, why are you the one trying to accuse a trap set of being evil and possessed? It's inanimate for crying out loud. Possession usually only applies to something that is animate and that previously had control over itself.
24. Two templates in two days - my new record! Both of them are valid XHTML and CSS and they're both experiments with styles, styles that I haven't truly properly grasped yet. First, there's "Words". You can read more of a description of it on the site, but it's a grunge template, semi emotional. I think it's my best yet simply because of how it's organized. Works on IE and Firefox - not sure about Opera. Download it here! Then, there's my shabby "Avant-garde" in an attempt to bring a lively purple template to base. Again, it's experimental, but this one has no emotional semblance. Works on IE and Firefox (slight weird quirk on IE forces the menu to the right side, because that's what's written in the CSS - ah well!) - not sure about Opera. Download it here! Both of these templates are available for download but I haven't done as much work as far as accessibility goes for Avant-garde. Comments, words of insight, horrible nasty atrocious "you suck!" remarks tolerated. I'm open to anything.
