  1. I'm also a sceptic about these kinds of websites, especially about some NoName companies that offer $$$ for nothing.Nothing is free in this world unless you steal it, mark my words.If you want easy money, so to speak, use GoogleAds.This works for sure.Just register and invite a friend or two to help you out.I have a website and I <- snipped -> from my school computers.So far I've earned 150$.Now that easy money.}
  2. Looks like I'm the first one to vote Software for Windows.What can I say? Most major companies use Windows software and its tools and in order to make some money, you need to adjust.I used to code under *BSD just to show that Windows sux but now I'm focused on Windows system.I still think it sux but in computer world, Windows make the world go around (so to speak, Windows is the money if you understood).
  3. I got that email some time ago (a months or so) and I wasn't sure why my account got deleted so I stopped visiting Xisto Forums.Today I came here to check what's new on Xisto and I see this warning, I try to login and it says: Attepmt failed so I figured I threw away my account for nothing.Do I need to post 10posts again to apply for the account? Please reply. Daniel

  5. DevC++ is OK and you also have Watcom...http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ or you can just install GCC + Anjuta...anyway, you have many options.There was some discount offer (only for students) at Microsoft, two years ago, where I got my full VS6 pro + MSDN + Service Packs for only 15$If you plan to go pro with making software and, someday, even selling them, I suggest you risk some money and order licensed Visual Studio.

  13. I have few websites up and running, each for different purpose.My personal website is alphabox.co.sr and the rest are not appropriate to mentione , because I don't want to advertize.Anyway, if you want to make money you have to know how to MAKE (design...) websites.You need to ask yourself what do people want? What do you look for when you visit websites?People want proffesional designs (survey showed people trust more to companies with proffesional looking websites then those who have 100$ worth design).People want speed! They (don't we all?) hate when websites load for ever.They don't want silly useless animations that usually slow down the load process, except a small, flash perhaps, animation on top of the page (head) that represents the company (logo).They hate ads! No popups or stupid banner ads everywhere!Use quality material for your website.Use polls to get feedback on your products/services and not forums!Toplevel domain! I see people (small companies) with pro websites and a domain like mycompany.tripod.com! Use .com whenever it's possible.If the domain is already taken, try modifying it or use .net.At the end, it all depends what you do for living/what are you selling.Designs depend on a category, so mechanic would not have the same layout as a guy that sells porn.That's about it.Daniel Vukadinovic
  14. hansley: That kind of 'job' exist but the problem is there are way too many of people with fresh ideas.People have all kinds of ideas but the problem is they (all) can't be done, due to finance problems or lack of skilled developers.Now if you have an idea for a game and you want to present it you must know how to make games and when I say make I mean, plan, model, design, code...What should you do?1.First you must know what kind of games people like to play nowdays.To do that, I suggest you make a survey and ask some thousand people what kinds of new game they would like to play.2.Game story.You have to design a good interesting game story with many options for user to chose with.An option where there is only one way to finish the game is bad.3.Design a game.Make a preparation like you do when you code programs.4.Code it.You don't have to make a complete game, but a demo should be fine.If you don't have all the skills like modeling, coding, art, music, ask your friends to help you out.5.When the game is finished, wrap it up and send it to the company you want.Make sure you include all instructions, game story and your description of the game (what you like in it, what's new in it, ...) Tell them you made a survey and present them your plans.If you are a programmer, send them your rezime.That's pretty much everything.Good luck!Daniel Vukadinovic
  15.     ? Port Scanning ?

    like I said, that is harmless.I used to get from around 300 - even 800 hits per day...anyway, if you so want to whois them....you basicly can't, you can traceroute them to see where the IP is coming from, ping them to see if they are alive and scan them back for ports and OS.

    ? Port Scanning ?

    This is nothing serious, just ignore it.Random people scan random IPs for open ports, if you have your ports closed then you have nothing to be afraid of.Tracing the IP, why? A bored guy decided to scan IPs, ranged x.x.x.x - x.x.x.x for specific ports, if he finds any he will probably try to abuse them, but he will most likely fail, because these guys are just lame.You should be alerter if you get numerous attempts from the same IP, then try to contact it.
