Flash, Macromedia Flash, or Flash 8 Professional is a programming language used by Macromedia Industries (now Adobe since the take-over in 2005). It is a fairly-complex code that involves the motion of pictures to create documents. You can download a 30-day free trial of Macromedia Flash at http://www.adobe.com/, by signing on as a Macromedia User. Once the 30-days are over, you cannot use Flash anymore. Flash takes a while to learn, however the newbie can create a short movie (3 minutes in length) using just pictures in a slideshow. For example, making a person "move" in flash is one of the hardest things to do, but displaying a screen for 5 seconds then displaying another is fairly simple to make. Macromedia offers some free tutorials once you purchase (or download a free trial) of Macromedia Flash Professional 8. If you are looking into purchasing an edition of Flash, I recommend Macromedia Flash Professional 8 as opposed to Macromedia Flash Basic 8. Professional, although more money, allows more "tween", or motion, design, and allows the use of pre-set templates, and even more (gasp) code to use. Macromedia Flash Basic 8 is just what you need to make flash, and goes on sale for approximately $299 USD, where I believe Flash Professional 8 goes on sale for $599 or $699 or so. Check the Macromedia website for actual prices. I only recommend Macromedia Flash Professional 8 if you are fluent in at least one previous version of Flash, be it MX or MX 2004 (previous versions to 8), and you are seriously thinking into going into programming. Finally, Adobe, now the owner of Macromedia, has several program bundles on their web site (http://www.adobe.com/), which include Adobe's Creative Suite 2, which includes Adobe Acrobat 3-D (professional PDF making), Photoshop CS2 (imaging), and a lot of other Adobe products, but most importantly Photoshop, combined with "Studio 8" from Macromedia, which offers the entire Macromedia product line. Flash Professional 8 for motion, Fireworks 8 for images (although Photoshop CS2 is better), Dreamweaver 8 (web-site making), and a lot of lesser products including, I believe, Contribute 3 (which I really don't know what it does), and FlashPaper 2 (transforms your images and Microsoft Word documents into PDF files, although Adobe Acrobat 3-D is better than FlashPaper). This entire suite (named the "Adobe Web Premium Plus" or similar) goes on sale for...a WHOPPING price of ONLY...$999 USD. I personally do NOT recommend this unless you are this amazing person on computers and has a professional career in all of those fields. Personally, I believe that it is a waste of money, and that next year, they'll come up with Flash Professional 9, and Photoshop CS3 and everything like that, so really I recommend that you don't spend too much money if you just want to experiment with Flash. Try the Free Trial out, and if you like it but are not pursuing a career with it, purchase Macromedia Flash Basic 8, and enjoy! In a couple months, everything will be upgraded to the next version, so I wouldn't buy anything just YET...

Xbox 360 Vs. Playstation 3 The good and bad about each
mystmag replied to SoCalAztec's topic in Computer Gaming
If you have to choose between PS3 and XBOX360, I base my decision on a number of things.Games - Which one has better games that appeal to your liking?Cost - Are you looking for a console that is cheap, or are you willing to spend a lot of money?Graphics - If you really want a console, I would at least glance at this topic.Competition - Is there ANY other console that is better?Power - Self explanatory.Screen Resolution - Don't want it to be blurry, do we?Online Capabilities - XBOX has XBOX Live...what will PlayStation have? But it's still your choice...I would choose the XBOX360 on a count of the money, because I would buy an iPod video on the side with the spare money that I didn't spend on the PS3. But that's ONLY my decision... -
I use Yahoo 360, but personally it is not my favourite blogging system. I have experienced Blogger and LiveJournal, but I believe that Blogger is a bit better than Yahoo 360, but because I mainly use my Yahoo account for email, and everything, and since it comes with Rogers, I use Yahoo 360. It isn't all that bad, either.

Do You Know Html? Just Wondering, most of you would know.
mystmag replied to scab_dog's topic in Programming
HTML is like the most basic code that you need to know in order to run sites. Because you're on a hosting site, I'm pretty sure a lot of people will know html -
Personally, I believe that Google Desktop is better than MSN. Below is my complete analysis on why.Download Speed:Google has a faster database, which allows quicker downloads, although both programs are small on your computer.Location:Google Desktop allows you to choose if you want a floating sidebar, deskbar, or a sidebar, while MSN only allows you to choose if you want it on your taskbar, or as a floating text box.Search Quality:Being the leader in searches, Google has a wider variety of web searches, because of popularity.Annoyance:If you choose the deskbar, it is annoying whenever your mouse accidentally scrolls over to the right of your monitor and Google Desktop comes out, but if you want it to come out so you can read data, Google Desktop has a better base theme.Overall:Google Desktop: 9/10 (Quick POP-UP when cursor moves to right end of monitor)MSN: 7.5/10 (See above)

My Windows has been starting really slow for the past week or so, so I simply went into MSCONFIG (Start>Run>msconfig) and disabled all the unnecessary start-up programs (the ones that don't say SYSTEM next to them).I believe that msconfig is one of the better ways to increase start-up speed for your computer.

Redesign Gmail Webmail Site? Should google redesign their gmail site?
mystmag replied to dymondgurl's topic in The Internet
I believe that Google GMail should re-design the site. The site is built on a quick-loading Java, which, can get frustrating if it fails to load. GMail should re-design the site to look like one of the Yahoo Mail or Yahoo Mail BETA sites. I couldn't get any screenshots with Yahoo, sorry. But, people can use GMail with POP3 Access, so you can check your mail from Outlook 2003. That is much handier for people who don't like the GMail Layout... -
Out of the two signature possibilities, I personally like the second one (anime) better than the first one. My reasoning for this is because the first one is too *evil* (wait...) but it just...well, actually, I really have no preference. Whichever signature you feel is better and better expresses you, you should choose that.Star Ratings:First One: 7/10Second One: 8/10

I use TurboPascal 7.0 to program most of my programs, however I fluently know Java and C++. I do wish to learn a few more, however I believe that my knowledge in programming languages is complete.

Simple!Press the PrntScrn button (or on some computers, Print Scr), located above your arrow keys, and above the Insert/Home section. Or, to the immediate right of the F12 key. After pressing the button, your computer takes a 'Snapshot' of your current computer state.Next, open a photo editing program, for example Adobe Photoshop CS2, however some computers don't have any good photo editing software, so simply access "Paint" by going to Start>All Programs>Accessories>Paint.Thirdly, click on the "Edit" menu and left-click "Paste". That will paste your screenshot onto the Paint Document. If you just want the entire screen, taskbar included, save it as a .GIF file for image quailty, or .BMP for small sizes, and send it to all the people that you want via email, or Instant Messenger, or any other program that you want to use.If you want to crop, or take a section of the image, select the dashed-arrow button on the left control panel in Photoshop CS2 (Same in Paint), and select what part of the image you want. Then, while holding CTRL, click "X" and the image part will disappear. Then go to File>New and don't save changes to your document. Click on Edit>Paste and you can print your cropped image, or email it to your friends.Hope that this helps!

I have and always will be a Motorola fanatic. I have used the Motorola RAZR v3 before, but due to unforseen circumstances, I had to return the phone. I am planning on purchasing the new Motorola PEBL [Pebble]. For more information, check out the Motorola site. The PEBL has an automatic-opening mechanism, so if you press a button on the side it opens, allowing you to open it with one hand. I believe that the PEBL is going to revolutionize the world and the phone industry as we know it today. How many other PEBL supporters are there?

If I were you, I would purchase the PSP system. The PSP can also play music, like the Video iPod, however the PSP can play tons of cool games!

LightScribe is currently the best idea for labeling DVDs. Although you need to purchase special LightScribe CDs or DVDs, it is safer for your player to play because stick-on labels can rip off and burn up inside the circutry of the player. LightScribe is permanent or near-permanent onto the CD face, and looks better in the end because you can place images and such onto the face.To write an image onto the face, you first write the text onto the CD or DVD, then eject the CD or DVD, and flip it. You put it back in and design the cover on the built-in or self-installed product on the computer, and print instead of to the printer, you select the "LightScribe Printer Driver". It writes the image, and, when the process is complete (usually takes about 20 minutes), it automatically ejects your CD or DVD and it is ready for you to use.

Personally, I use Media Center on my Windows XP Computer. However, If you are only going to be using it as a laptop, for studies for school, or MSN or something like that, I would just get a Windows XP Home. If you're going to connect your laptop to other computers to form a network, and want to access the other computer domains, then I would go for Windows XP Professional. You can save yourself a lot of money if you just buy Home because you do not need Professional. Finally, there's Windows XP Media Center. That is if you are going to be doing a mixture of both off-network and on-network. And, the Media Center Program that it comes with is great, allowing you to watch Live TV, easily make/view CDs or DVDs, organize your pictures and videos, and edit movies and burn them onto a DVD. If you spend even more money you can get a CPU with LightScribe technology, allowing you to make an image right onto the CD Face using laser technology. Of course, you can always have more than one Operating System on your computer, however, my best-bet for you would be Windows XP Media Center Edition if you are planning on creating a network with your laptop.

Google has stopped accepting new downloads for a while, but now that Google Earth can be downloaded again, people will definetly go for it. I have seen Google Earth on CNN and other news stations, and it was advertised on many different sites as a way to view anything in the whole world by using "advanced satellite technology".Wow...Google is going to take over the world one day
