i think you have to let it crawl for a while or something; it cant just produce pages from no where. i think it does the work while your idle like deskbar maybe ..

I was searching from google a couple hours ago, and i noticed a link on the bottom that said 'New: Google Web Accelerator (Beta)". I was instantly curious, and here's what i found: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ . It looks like a proxy that automatically crawls through pages and downloads things you will encounter next, speeding up the browsing process. It even has a monitor of how much time you saved. Im installing it as im typing this, and i will update on how it is.

Whoever voted for hotmail... i pray that you were kidding. Gmail is easily the best webmail on the internet. Not only does it have the most space, but it has the coolest interface, best archiving, and best email search. No contest at all. Also, you can barely see when google does an ad. Hotmail ads are flashy and designed to distract you from what you are doing. I used hotmail until i got into the GMail beta, and ive never signed back onto hotmail since. One more thing, Gmail has a much better spam filter --

Is It True Or Hoax Gmail Service Shutting Down? donotreply@gmail.com
sharpz replied to brainet's topic in The Internet
Do you know how easy it is to spoof an email address? Did you check the sender ip and other stuff in the header? Obviously, its not google as they would post something about it on the main page AND would not ask you to click on a referal search engine. WHy would they need the revenue anyway, a few dollars is nothing compared to the millions or billions they are raking in. -
Have You Heard Computers Sing? Text to speech... or Text to song?
sharpz replied to Dooga's topic in Science and Technology
wow thats crazy, ive never heard such clear text to speech talking. Although the voice is a bit whiney, i've never heard anything like it. especially the duet, that was crazy. sounds a lot better than kelly clarkson o.O , i haaaate her and her stupid songs grrrrr -
definately altec lansing. i've had mine for 3 years, no problems whatsover except when i accidently pulled a cord out and thought the speakers broke o.O . i have four speakers and a sub, perfect for all purposes. Music, gaming, etc. I love the clarity when i blast my music really , really loud and i can listen to it from outside fine . Anyone whos considering it, its worth an extra 30 bucks or so, even only by durability and clarity.

i think the macro buttons are a ripoff, but i think the keyboard is worth it simply for the backlit keys and the LCD, although the LCD is harder to program than one would believe so by the logitech propaganda

I hate all anti-viruses. They are major CPU hogs, and i have to disable live protection on anything in order to game. I think the best antivirus is Kaspersky Antivirus. It isn't anything super special, but it works, and finds plenty of new viruses that are undocumented.

I recieved the Logitech G15 keyboard this past christmas, and i'm wondering who else uses it. I really love the backlit keys, and the LCD, but has anyone got the macro buttons to work properly? Windows does not register them as an actual key, the program seems to register it, and spit out the macro. I can't use it for actual gaming, like counter-strike because there is no practical way to bind it. Link is here: http://www.logitech.com/en-ca

Im using RDRAM right now, and its a real pain in the **bottom**. You have to buy it in pairs, which is extremely expensive. I found that its actually cheaper to buy a new motherboard and buy DDR SDRAM than to buy the equivelent in RDRAM. I think a gig of SDRAM is better than half a gig of RDRAM if you're actually using it. If not, go with the faster RAM.

Cpus With 5-ghz Clock Speeds On Their Way
sharpz replied to rogeruk's topic in Science and Technology
Do you seriously not understand the virtue of a smaller chip? If you can shrink an existing processor, you can create a faster chip at the original size.... Also, when would you snap your processor? It isnt just sitting loose in the case... Its hard to reach without taking apart your computer.. -

its costing them 900 dollars? how can sony be expected to profit, or even cut it even?
-
Does anyone have one that can talk about it? does it stream the video fast enough to recieve it and watch it whole, or is it frame by frame while loading?

Where did you hear this? i doubt Apple will spend the money and effort to try and outcompete nokia and motorola when they are so firmly estabilished as the leading cell phone producers. If you have any links to sites or such who say this, i would like to read about it

Not free, but WoW . Although im thinking of canceling it because its getting boring and fifteen dollars a month is a huge sum if one's income is... zero dollars a month.

Theyre actually limiting the amount of applications running to three? That is the most rediculous thing i've ever heard. That is the biggest invitation to cracking the OS that i have seen, and no doubt it will be remarkably easy to do. If anyone pays for that piece of crap, they deserve to have their computers blown up.

I never really knew what the difference between XHTML and HTML is. Is XHTML just really, really strict HTML? Thats what i heard from a friend and wasn't quite sure.

I've tried tons of those sites, and they all seem to be scams. They all look promising, but when payout comes, they seem to disappear and reappear a few days later under a different name with the exact same site [netbux]

I am using Picasa 2 also, and i love it. It is by far the greatest photo management system i have ever used, however the built in editing is very poor, and not even close to an alternative to photoshop, but i think that's the idea of it. I wish it was seamlessly integrated with photoshop, that would be awesome for batch editing.

I was looking through wired today, and i noticed : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ looks like a pretty nifty image gallery effect, though i noticed that it wont display properly in FireFox. Does anyone have any links or examples of other image gallery code, i find it pretty fascinating.
