I love what Xisto is doing here. I love being apat of communities like this, and here you got hosting for it! What more could you ask for!Well ive got an idea: The all purpose help desk. We have so many users here, all of us together probably have knoweledge about pretty much every thing. So why not open a "Help Desk"?At the "Help Desk" Users could submit a question about any thing (Probably via email) then us here could sort of "Claim" the message if we know the answer. All the question could be posted in a forum here, then once a user "Claims it" the topic that its in becomes closed so that no one else can get at it.The person who claims it would then conatct the slender with the answer to their question (via email), or help them fix a problem. For each Question sucessfully finished, the user who helped with it would be awared so many hosting credits. (The slender would notify an admin, then the credits could be awarded to the person who helped)You are probably reading this and thinking "Whats the real difference between this and what a forum can do?!" Well i this would just be for support, not just posting about programs ect. that would be use full to people. When people post here for help (at least I find) they are over whelmed by posts suggesting what to do, most of then dont work. So here the person would be dealing with one person, and only one person. To bring this farther, each of us here could have a certain departement, either it being Computers or what ever that we are good in. Then a person submits a question, they assign it to a certain departement. That way if some one from a departement doesn't know the answer, they could forward it to another person in the same departement, to see if they know.Let me know what you think...

Hosting Credit Question - Holidays Need Help/Advice about Credits

**NOTE*** This turorial is not meant to "Put Down" Xisto and its amazing free webhosting. This is meant to me a fun "Weekend" sort of project. Any either way, any webhost you make can never be as relaible as Xisto HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN WEBSERVER In this tutorial you will learn how to make your own web server using an old computer. What you will need: 1. An old computer (Or a new one, your choice" 2. Network adapter (If the computer doesnt already have one installed) 3. Network Cable 4. Router (to connect computer to web) 5. Software (See below to download...) 6. RAM Upgrade Heres how: 1. You will need a computer with atleast 115mb or ram (The more the marrier!) If needed, install the networking card, so it can be connected to the internet. If needed, install the RAM upgrade, so the computer will be faster. 2. Connect it to the internet either through a router, or directly to your modem. 3. Boot up the computer, and open your browser. Now heres where youve got some options. There are many different programs that will turn your computer into a webhost. One of my favorites is Netserver. This is only for Windows PS's though. Another one you could try is AppServ. I have never tried this one, but ive heard its good. Another one who supports Linux is XAMPP. Again I have never tried it. All of these programs support PHP and MySQL. 4. Once you have decided which program is suitable for you, on your machine, go to their website and download their client, and install the program. 5. If you have a firewall, i would suggest removing it, other wise it may block people from acessing the computer to get the website, so no one would be able to get to your website. 6. And your done! With most programs, the computers IP adress becomes the URL. In order to be able to get to your website, the machine you are using must be connected to the web 24/7, and be turned on, other vise users will simply we shut out. If you need any help, please post below, and we will see what we can do for you Enjoy, Elegost

PS3 looks cool from the specs, but the controlers look messed. The console it self downt look bad. Why 7? I have PS2 right now, but i dont know if im going to bother upgrading. Also people are woried how its going to do compared to Xbox360, which commes out soon. I fould these comparison specs on the internet: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ They are relativly the same, except for a few points. Sony and Xbox took different strategies when it came to decide on an optical drives. Sony decided to use the PS3 to further its own Blu-ray format, which allows for discs that can hold about 54GB each. The Xbox 360 will support dual layer DVDs, which can hold about 9GB worth of data. Both consoles will support older media formats such as CD-ROMs, conventional DVDs, and user-created DVDs. You'll impress a lot of ladies with the Blu-ray line, but the Xbox 360's normal DVD should serve you just fine in the near future.

Hey all,Heres my problem. Every summer I go to my cottage with my family, usually for the whole summer. This means that i do not have acess to a computer, so therefore i wont be able to post in the forms to keep my website activated. Is there a way that I could "Pause" my account so that i dont need credits to keep it active? Or do i need to get a sufficent number of credits to leep me going all summer long? Thanks in Advance,Elegost Notice from jlhaslip: Also, I amended your topic title and description to provide a better reference for the other members.

Hey all,I got a question to ask you guys. Lots of buisnesses pay hacker probably thousands or maybe even millions of dollars to send out tonnes of spam email to email adresses. Many websites have even been acused of selling their users email adresses to spammers. Heres my question: Is it worth it? Almost every one now a days has a spam blocker, so probably almost 80% of spam is filtered out. Even if it makes it though, i know i dont even bother to read it. I just delete it. How many times have you gone along with a spam email that claims to have a free software bundle worth 1000$ waiting for you if you join their site? I know i never have. Dont you think those spammers are just wasting their time, money and energy? Many goverments are not even putting charges on people for doing this kind of thing. I dont know. If you ask me, its not worth it.Give you somthing to think about,Elegost Notice from BuffaloHELP: Topic title must be descriptive. You don't need to include your name in the post. We all know who posted it. Edited topic title.

Thats pretty weird... all the simaliarites. I nad no clue Dreamcast was even still being developped! I thought sega had given up long ago...Really, I trust sony much more than I would Sega or Microsoft. Even though PS3's controllers look like a midevil weapon, theres still time for change

I used to play runescape. But when i got to lvl 80, had all the quests done, and quite a few characters, I found that it got quite boring. There was simply nothing to do any more, so i quit. Now i dont even remember my password
