Updating Graphics Card Problems
herenistarion replied to dipesh1405241559's topic in Hardware Workshop
We need to kno a bit more like the manufacturer of the motherboard, and your power supply. From what i can see you motherboard supports AGP. there are two types of graphic cards. AGP, and PCI-E. PCI-E is compatible with newer motherboards and by far way better than AGP. Infact, AGP is not really being produced anymore, its extinct. So my first suggestion for you is that you upgrade your motherboard, but i think if its that old to the point where you can't use a PCI-E video card, i would chuck it out and get another computer because the investment isn't worth it.With AGP, if you have roughly atleast a 450W power supply, you can support a NVIDIA 7600 GT. I don't think there are any 8800 series cards that support AGP. You will be two generations behind, but should be ok to run pretty much everything made before 2008, and anything made in 2009 at low settings (referring to games). Its roughly $50 U.S and newegg has good deals. Infact you might even be able to get a bundle deal from newegg for a new card, new power supply for under a 85$ U.S -
You can't compare a laptop to a desktop. They serve two very different functions. To me a desktop functions as mainly a gaming device, I built my desktop just for that and have customized it. Asus p5N32-ESLI Mobo500GB WD hard drive8800GTX 328MB4GB Ram600 W power supply. This to me is just mainly for playing new games that come out on the market like crysis for example. I am a huge gamers so i needed something like this in my life. I don't do any of my work on my desktop. I just think it doesn't get done if i sat here and started doing it. I would get distracted by games and stuff lol. To do my work, at home and on the go i use my laptop. Its mobile. But also, you have to think about how much more you are paying for it. Compared to a desktop you could end up paying 3 times more for the same specs on a laptop. That being said, laptops aren't made for gaming or anything, they are just for getting work done in my opinion. So pick what u prefer, and if your in the middle you could always get a very expensive laptop or a normal desktop and loose the mobility aspect of it.

Does anyone believe in this. I was always curious to know how they came up with the daily readings. I know there is more than one. I usually read it daily on MSN, and surprisingly when i read it at night, it always seems to relate to something that i did during the day. I think that this is all just a bunch of crap really, and theres so much of a population on earth that you can make general assumptions, and when people see something that might be just a little related they tend to take it very personally and hold on to it. Any opinions, or strong believers?

Humans are generally curious. When someone tells us not to look at something, we can't help ourselves but to look. Therefore I think human curiosity is kind of driving the Nasa program to its limits. Is this generally a bad thing? I'd say not.Alot of jobs are dependant on Nasa, and that a lone is a good reason to keep the program running. If in this solar system, in this planet earth, humans can live, there has to be atleast one other planet in this universe, in one of the galaxies, in one of the solar systems, in one of the planets where its just like Earth. Meaning out of the billions of planets earth can't be the only one that livable. Is looking for this such a bad thing. Could it lead to one of those sci fi movie galaxy battles to take over the earth..lol i would say not. And i don't think we are going to find anything interesting anytime soon. As of now, it just stands as a place for people to work lol..Just imo..But hey, i know very little about everything

Religious Tolerance (-or Lack Of)
herenistarion replied to Lady Seluna's topic in Science and Technology
its something that you can openly say but almost everyone can improve on. Everyone feels patriotic to their own religion as they would feel patriotic to say their country. Thus they feel its right, and often doesn't look at other religions with a open mind. In my opinion, its really a set of rules to keep man under control. One good example is islam. The majority are very nice caring people but due to the actions of a few they are being unfairly targeted.I was surprised when someone i knew said:"I am not voting for Obama, because his very early backgroun is one of a muslim fate and i think he still carries some of those values with him"Hrm.. -
Windows XP Error: Explorer Crashes While Drag & Drop

try updating? -
I think a much better solution to rather than overclocking is to upgrade your system.I am going to take a guess and say that your overclocking to run a demanding game, or program. In which case its most likely graphics related. Thus you can start by upgrading your video card. Try something cheap like the Nvidia, 8800GTX 320mb. Its very good on performance, and is quite cheap..The next thing is ram, your ram is way to small to even have vista installed on your pc. I would suggest 2GB of ram, 1GB for vista and 1Gb for your applications but atleast a minimum 1GB. So that means you need atleast 512mb more.I wouldn't suggest overclocking unless you are ok with loosing your pc parts sooner than its intended life expectancy. If you must make sure you have proper cooling, water cooling is nice, but proper air vents and cooling should do. Since its the summer, you might need like an air conditioner in your room also.

I would definitely suggest against all counter strike games. The fps genre is kind of ruined by counter strike and its unrealistic settings. Imo, for that reason it takes the fun out of the game for me. Someone made a video a couple of years back showing how bad the hi boxes were for counter strike, meaning that to kill someone infront of you, you would shoot about 3 feet back, as the gaame engine is not very well designed. It has a lot of flaws, but don't everything steam makes.

I doubt it. It just doesn't make sence for them to figure this out this late..Dogs have better sence of smells than humans imo.
-
The good ones aren;t free like COD4, BF2, but the reality mods for these are free, which are amzing imo.there are free fps like gunz and warock, counter strike the very old one..these are;t that great though imo.

Religious Tolerance (-or Lack Of)
herenistarion replied to Lady Seluna's topic in Science and Technology
I think its just many feel patriotic towards their religion as one would feel towards a country. Then it leads to extremism, which leads to a whole lot of "insert your word of choice"..Its generally not a good thing..I went through some rl stuff, which i came out of hating everything which had religion, and conservative attached together:P take your guess on what it was lol. -
Thisis already being done with a game called HUXley for xbox. The world, is very involved like WOW, you walk around, buy stuff, sell stuff, and at the same time its first persona, with insane graphics. Then all the sudden its arena system lets you turn the game into a FPS, and there are accessible vehicles and such. Its cool check it out

hrm pretty cool but i like mins the way it is hehe:P

Life After Death? do you believe in it??
herenistarion replied to baby bear's topic in Science and Technology
There are some real weird theories, assosiated with this..Some cultures belive you are born as a butterfly before u are born as a human again. And then there are ones that don't even believe in afterlife, such as Buddhisms. One freeky thing i remember is that, there was this one kid, where i came form who knew every single little secret of this famous actor. And many belives that it was him reborn. -
Direct Democracy would really be the best ype of government. But with 6billion people in the world, its almost impossible to have this. Its origins are from athens i belive where the people directly participated in decision making.

Love Addiction What is Love to you?
herenistarion replied to tudor's topic in Science and Technology
Hrm, its something you really can't describe. If you can't describe it but can only feel it, i'd say its love. Lust on the other hand, like love on first site which is just lust is describable.."Damn shes so hot" -
Thats very interesting..Do aliens exist..Let me ask you this. We live in one planet, which is a part of a solar system, which is part of a galaxy. How many solar systems are there in this one galaxy? and how many planets? How many galaxys are there? I'd say if on this solar system, and on earth humans are able to sustain, then there has to be atleast one other planet where the same thing is occuring out of the billions of planets that do exist.

Do You Believe In Magic? Do u belive in magic =?
herenistarion replied to Feelay's topic in Science and Technology
Hrm, Do I belive in magic? Thats a very good question..I would like to say no, but there are things that are in this world that cannot be explained. is it proven? I'd say no, and many would agree to the fact that most of what we call "magic" is a illusion. We are seeing what is not really happening, and many are very good at this. There are however some things, that just blow my mind, like i remember this one guy i forget his name, who was put into a tank, stayed for 7 days and went without oxygen for 6 mins, and broke out of chains..Is it magic? or is it a very clever solution. I'd say its mostly an opinion:PAm i crazy? probably lol -

I think addfree and free proessional hosting beats most. I used be a member of a place called hosmatrix who offered the same services as ATA host but they were very very unstableTheir server keps getting hacked, and people were loosing their accounts. The amount of space given was just too little to do anything with. I recently lost all my info, and account with their hosting..Can't say anything cause its free but i would like some stability. SO i will vote for ATA, even though i am still yet not sure, how their service it
