  1. In short, no you cannot make money online. There are many ways to earn money but you'll probably end up earning one or two dollars at best. Let me mention some of them. One, get paid for reading emails [50cents to 2 dollars per mail], the best non-spamming one in my experience [long ago] is InboxDollars.com. I probably earned five dollars or something, minimum payout is something like 20 or 30 dollars.Two. ImageCash.com pays you to upload images, and if any images get lots of views [say 5000] you get a couple of bucks. Three. Google pays you to put a Firefox logo on your site and everytime someone downloads it you get a dollar. Pretty good deal. Finally let me tell you that eventually you can make a lot of money, even thousands. But it will take lots of hard work and a lot of luck. Just make a unique and cool [ and updated] site and sign up for Google AdSense. You could make a blog cause its easy to update. Actually I was thinking of making a blog with someone else, so I wouldn't have to post daily but it would still be frequently updated. Or you could come up with a great idea like --- onemilliondollarhomepage.comand uncyclopedia.org
  2. Actually, I find the forums confusing and don't know what to post where either, that is why I suggested a new forum structure [look for it in the Suggestions and leave a comment]. BTW, I though phpBB was free. It shouldn't have ads. You can set one up at Xisto [i think]
  3. Do these even matter? Getting a Creative Commons licence and getting no licence is practically the same thing, isn't it?
  4. Well, it looks good but its not that great for managing emails seriously, AJAX based gmail, Windows Live Mail, and Yahoo! Mail are better.
  5. Don't do it, it messes up Windows. After removing it, if you create a new account you'll get some weird error when first logging in. Although it appears only once and doesn't have any other noticable "side-effects". It is more than possible that something else might also go wrong.I Don't under stand why people bother removing Windows Messenger and Internet Explorer because they won't bother you if you don't use them. Although Messenger does sometimes launch at startup just go to the Options menu and tell it not to and it complies. And For those wondering, IE security holes won't affect you unless you use IE.
  6. There aren't any OS's made specifically for music. Media Centre PCs are made for music, vids, pics, etc. but you want an OS. It is possible to make Linux into a MusicOS, if you have enough technical knowledge.Other than that you can simply turn any windows and linux into a MusicOS. Simply by installing decent softwares. Try Looking up the following softwares for windows.Windows Media Player 10iTunesMedia MonkeyWinampand also K-Lite Mega Codec PackThen set your music player to launch at startup, Choose a wallpaper and Theme (try a WindowBlinds theme) that has a musical look, and you're all set.
  7. Since she's quite young, something might happen but given the fact that she's your teacher she'll probably not think of you in that way. Try being nice with her and flirting, and watch for positive reactions. Good Luck.
  8. Thanks. The new design would not only help newcomers decide where to post what. It would also reduce duplicate posts.P.S. The structure I suggested is only a suggestion, add or remove forums based on your needs.
  9. Mine are black and I like them. If I could change them I'd make them white
  10. Yes even though it is possible to edit the HOST files to block ads, its too troublesome and the average person wouldn't bother.Although Firefox and Linux can survive, you probably know that they are open source projects and people contributed to them. That is volunteers did a lot of work. People don't make free stuff unless they get something in return. Even a site run entirely by volunteers such as Wikipedia, holds occasional fund-drives to raise the money for hosting costs. However donations aren't always effective. I wouldn't probably donate money to Google. But might end up clicking on some of their ads.I agree however that Firefox wouldn't kill the net. It would probably evolve into something worse so I must agree that the title of this thread is misleading. It is as Oscar Wilde once said, "Never judge a forum thread by its title, it might be misleading".
  11. I'm not just talking about more forums, I'm talking about making the whole thing more acessible. Everytime I decide to make a new post I can't find the most aprropriate place to post it.And less subforums, right now theres a subforum under google for Google Talk and GDS, etc. That would mean we need subforums for firefox, thunderbird, etc.------If a mod wouldn't mind the trouble can someone add a poll to this thread to see if the members want the forum to be re-structured. That would probably show if its necessary or not.
  12. Try Nightly Tester Tools. It allows to use extensions that aren't compatible with the current version. Its specially helpful if you test nightly builds but also if a new version comes out and your old extensions are no longer compatible.File Title. When you save a file it takes the name in the <title>...</title> tags as the file name. Helped me a lot. Also Remove it Permanently. Removes stuff like images, text, and anything from a page. And USer Agent Switcher. Lets Firefox Identify itself a IE so that pages that work only in IE can be seen by firefox.-----And User AdBlock Plus instead of AdBlock cause it has a Whitelist. And Also download the AdBlock FilterSet by G.-----------------------------Find these extensions using Google. I don't have the links and am too lazy to look them up.
  13. Thanks. Think Again. Take a Look at Live.com, its a new site belonging to microsoft and when visited through firefox it has a small sentence in red at the top saying "Firefox support coming soon". Don't you miss the days when the red message said " You are using an unsupported browser, please use Internet Explorer 6 or above". My point is if Microsoft starts making their sites Firefox compatible, its a huge success and a huge step forward for Mozilla. Let me quote Oscar Wilde who once said, "Pray Microsoft doesn't mess up Internet Explorer 7".
  14. Picasa2 is pretty basic. You should try PicaJet or ACDSee 8.
  15. ADBlock can block any component of a webpage, based on the rules in the block list. Say if you add *doubleclick* . it will block all objects with that has 'doubleclick' in its url, therfore blocking all Ads served by DoubleClick [a company that serves ads]. You can even block. You can right click unblocked images and iFrames by right-clicking it and selecting AdBlock This.
