A lot of the people I know, and my friends say they really hate macs. The fact is the only mac machines they have used are lower than OS X, so they've only experienced macs with OS 9, or 8. And truth be told, those OS's aren't that very great, and I would probably choose Windows over those ones. But OS X has really stepped it up, it's really easy and fun to use, and the GUI is amazing. The only mac I own right now, is a old iBook clamshell G3, it not be very fast, it's only 366mhz, but it's running pretty fast with Panther. I do my school work on it with no problems at all. I tend to get more work done on my mac, than my windows machines. I'm going to upgrade this Christmas hopefully to a Intel based mac from my old PowerPC. Another thing that I hate when people say they hate macs, is the "one-click mouse" thing. The whole reason behind the one click mouse, was to have it so it wasn't confusing, you only had to push 1 button. But they've changed it with the new macs, you can just use 2 fingers with the track pad, and it will right click, and even the new mighty mouses have a right click. It's not even that hard to click if you have a old mac, you just have to push the ctrl key, and click.

I really love the spell check on firefox, just another reason to get firefox. Like some people said though, sometimes it can be annoying when typing out things that are not really words, like abbreviations or internet slang. Oh well, I guess it's just trying to tell us that internet slang isn't good for your grammar.

Most Comfortable Way To Sit In A Computer Chair
Unregistered 0111405241546 replied to Antnydude47's topic in Software
When I sit at my desk, I'm pretty unconformable, I'm slouched over, and I move a lot. But when I use my laptop, most of the time I'm on my couch, or lying on my comfy bed. I'm thinking of investing in a really good computer chair, seeing how I do most of my work on the computer, might as well do it while being conformable Any suggestions on what kind or what I should be looking for? -
Funniest 404 Youv'e Seen?
Unregistered 0111405241546 replied to Network1405241550's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Haha that one is great, man it keeps going on and on and on lol. The ones that I like are the funny "owned" pictures as 404, and I've seen the one as the pope lol. -
I was reading about suse linux, but I haven't tried it tried it my self, I hear that it's really good, and in some opinions better than ubuntu. But if you want something that is incredibly easy to install, I would recommend ubuntu. The newest version is so easy to make your computer dual-boot if you don't want want to loose windows. In my experience all of the good linux platforms I've tried had some command line work involved when installing things, it's pretty easy once you understand everything and how it works.

Resolution
Unregistered 0111405241546 replied to LOL1405241550's topic in Websites and Web Designing
My site is set on 1024x768. Which is really small on my 22" CRT. But most people don't have that big of a monitor anyways. I've tried viewing my website on 800x600, it fits but it only stretches about 45 pixels. I'm not sure if I should make my website a bit smaller for people who use that resolution, but I don't think that many people use that resolution anymore. -
I'm going to wait a couple of years before I get another laptop, but Macbooks are definitely worth it. I only own a Clamshell right now, and I'm even happy with just that, it gets the job done for me. I hear that Leopard is going to be awesome, and it's going to have Bootcamp built in. The only thing is that you can't run bootcamp on intel based macs which sucks. Oh well at least Leopard still runs on PowerPC G4's.

Show External Images Without Hotlinking!
Unregistered 0111405241546 replied to iGuest's topic in Websites and Web Designing
That's a cool way even though, technically you're still hotlinking though lol. I find that unless the images are insanely huge, it shouldn't be a problem just to host it yourself. Or just upload it to imageshack. I have flickr pro, which has unlimited uploading, so I can shove as many pictures, and display it on other sites. It's a pretty cool tutorial though. -
I use Photoshop for most of my photo work. The other day I was playing with Aperture on my friends mac, and it's a really simple and easy program to enhance your photos. I personally like photoshop or even lightroom better than Aperture though because I find more control with editing my photos. I haven't used CorelDraw for editing my photos, but it works great when I'm drawing with my mouse because it automatically fixes the lines if it's too jagged or crooked, but I could just use a tablet to fix that problem on photoshop.

I didn't self vote because it would would be dishonest. If I could vote twice I would have voted Grafitti's site. There are some amazing drawings on there. -
The Problem With Vista's Parental Controls
Unregistered 0111405241546 replied to Ronel's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I don't see the point of parental controls on computers, if they don't want their kids doing bad stuff on the computer, stop being lazy, and just stand right behind them the whole time. With parental controls there are always ways to turn it off. My parents put full parenteral controls on my desktop computer, I just popped in a few things in google, and in a few minutes I disabled all the hidden programs and junk. Theres no way of stopping me of doing things unless they're standing right behind me, it's fool proof. Lmao -
If I were really really rich, I would get my laptop in gold just for hell of it Lol, it would be pretty sweet. I'm not really liking a diamond apple logo though. Lol good luck with your English, It wasen't so hard for me to understand though.

Who Has The Best Site Here?
Unregistered 0111405241546 replied to turbopowerdmaxsteel's topic in General Discussion
I'm not sure what really makes the site the "best" site... Lol other than the obviously crappy websites, they're all pretty good in my eyes... I don't know who I should vote for... I'll just vote for HandyPHP because it's got a nice clean layout and some nice content?.. -

Usb 3.0 Brings Optical Connection In 2008
Unregistered 0111405241546 replied to dserban's topic in Hardware Workshop
Wow, already upgrading to 3.0! Lol most of my computers still have usb 1.1. I'm still upgrading to usb 2.0. Most of the things I use are fire wire anyways. It's always good to know you can transfer things really fast though, all my documents and files keep growing bigger and bigger. -
Haha that's funny, but stupid at the same time. It's not her fault she's slow, she's 83! And I don't think that would solve the problem by ticketing her, she's gonna have the same speed whenever crossing any crosswalk. Oh well... I guess all old people should invest in some good motorized wheelchairs

I think I'm going to wait before I go out and actually Vista. Just like when XP first came out, there was a lot of bugs. Vista looks cool, but I'm waiting for the new OS X to see which one is better, I like both Windows and XP. I had the beta vista on my other machine, and it was really cool, but I just switched back XP because it ran way faster. Vista eats up so much of your computer.

Yeah, when I don't use my computer I just shut it off. It's different with my laptops though because I always put it on sleep. It's cool because one of my newer laptops, I can close the lid, and take the battery out and disconnect it any power source, and I can put it back in, and it will turn back on without booting so it uses no energy when I put it on sleep. I don't really trust this program either.. I should test it out first and see if it actually does anything.

Tera-discs To Blow Away Blu-ray And Hd-dvd?
Unregistered 0111405241546 replied to dserban's topic in Hardware Workshop
That's crazy, 1T on a disk! My hard drive is only 40 gigs Lol. But do we honestly need that much space on a disk? If they were to release movies on that format, they would be wasting so much space anyways, might as well put it on blu-ray or hd-dvd. And I wonder how much these crazy things would cost. And the burners would cost a fortune. -

Belkin's New N1 Vision Wireless Router
Unregistered 0111405241546 replied to dserban's topic in Computer Networks
Whoa, that is just about the coolest wifi router I've seen! If I had the money I'd defiantly buy that, but my current router is doing just fine. I think it's more about the looks than the actual specs. I would love to have that sitting on my desk
