  1. Hi Everyone;I am not new to java nor am I incompentent.ANyways, I just wanted to shared a book that I looked throughthat seemed fairly easy to follow for java beginners. IT gives a lot of demos and explainations on terms and methods. Also, it gives you very good instructions on compiling, building, and deploying your game. The book that I am referring to is:Beginning Java 5 Game ProgrammingAuthor is Jonathan S. Harbour from University of Advancing TechnologyISBN: 1-59863-150-0Yes... it is a THOMSON course Technology boo.Its a small book and pretty inexpensive.I bought it brand new for like 20 dollars.IT gives a lot of samples to download. Here are my ratings for it: Readability: 8.5/10Content: 8/10 ... its for beginnersAny feedback would be great, either good or bad.PLEASE THREAD CRAP IF YOU WANT TOO =)eFX
  2. I noticed this too. When i look around for games running on vista, there are issues with drivers for the video cards.... bleh.. that sux. But, IMO... I like vista and its look and feel. There's a lot of pros and cons concerning vista as of now. Here are some of mine: PROS: Graphically nice looking. Minimum requirements are as high as people think... 800MHz.. (!!!) Memory protection ( or something like that )..similar to a virus scan of some sort where damaging code is not run or something like that. (I read a few articles a few months ago on it) ... PROS: Too many versions...it is confusing COST.. compared to free.. most users don't like forking up 100++ for an OS Compatiability issues...I THINK this was due to NVIDIA's response for Vista drivers eFX
  3. Thanks for the links. I am checking out each one right now. =)

  9. This is a pretty neat IDEA. I found this from DIGG.com The idea is to 'skip' onto water with a HYDROFOIL that glides along the top of the water with your own strength. You basically push up and down with it, causing the hydrofoil to glide on top of the water. Check it out. PS. Any idea how to make one? http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Fly-a-Human-Powered-Hydrofoil---the-Aqua/ " introHow to "Fly" a Human Powered Hydrofoil - the "Aquaskipper" The "Aquaskipper" is a human powered hydrofoil made by Inventist.com . It's similar to the original Swedish Trampofoil, which is no longer available. There's also one called the "Pumpabike" from South Africa. They're also called "hull-less watercraft" and "flapping wing propulsion vessels". You bounce up and down to make the wing fly and propel you. If you stop you fall into the water and swim back to the dock. It's completely ridiculous and works really well once you get the hang of it. It's hard to do at first but that seems to make it even more fun. "

CONS: 1) Myspace is now like a forum full of bots...you don't know who is real or not. 2) CSS Overkill on basically everything..iTS CSS ON TOP OF CSS ON TOP OF CSS. 3) I don't want TOM to be my friend. 4) Bullentins are like SPAM... 5) People are so..... unreal... 6) I only have 143 friends... I want more...jk I have more, just don't want to share too much. eFX

  23. Hi, I am taking a artificial intelligence class at CSU, Sacramento. The class is under: CSC 215 and entails the following: "Nature of intelligence and possibility of its realization on digital computers via algorithmic and heuristic programming methods. Knowledge representation. Search procedures. Problem-solving paradigms and simulation of cognitive processes. Machine learning. Natural language understanding, expert systems, and knowledge engineering. Image understanding. Future of artificial intelligence and limits of machine intelligence." This class so far is pretty interesting. When I finish it, I'll update you on the things I learned. Oh yeah, the book we are using is: Norvig and Russell - Artificial Intelligence, A Modern Approach, 2nd edition, Prentice Hall, 2003 If you wanted to know. Also, here is the link to GP_Lab (Genetic Programming development environment): http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Which is the following: "The Genetic Programming Laboratory is a user-centric toolkit that is an all-inclusive system designed with the average programmer in mind" I hope that helps. =) eFX
  24. I don't have this game; however, I seen the videos on this game. Also, I have Battlefied 2.My friends have Battlefied 2142.They like it very much; nonetheless, they say the game is just like Battlefied 2 with an modification. By viewing the videos, the game play seems just like Battlefied 2 and the guns look similar. So, my opinion is to try the demos out before actually buying the game. =DJust my 1 cent =) (not 2) Thanks,eFX.
  25. I actually had a similar idea. The one you supplied was effective.I wanted a simple logo.I don't like extravagant ones =)Thank you very much for your input. this one will work. I give you some credit when I start posting to a website =D
