Sounds interesting, I might try it out on my site to see if it really works. I never actually was aware that google calculated the rank by how many different websites link to you.Although if what the previous posters in this thread have said is true then it is pointless bothering. I think I'll still try and if I don't get any results then I'll stop. Thanks for the information regardless.

A Particular Royalty Free Image Required splat
mediafork replied to Vyoma's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I seem to find it near impossible to find relevant images to what I am looking for at the time that are actually royalty-free. I would be very interested to know what the best websites are for picking up such images or if anyone has any tips and techniques to share in aid of this search. Thanks in advance. -
Wow thanks a heap for this information. I'm really glad that I logged onto Xisto today because now I know about this cool little trick!I've heard people saying something about this before but I always assumed it would be one of those things that was just way too complication and took hours of tweaking to even work out how to do.Thankyou so much! This was so easy to do!

20 Years From Now... Where do you see humanity?
mediafork replied to Kyle Perkins's topic in Science and Technology
Oh god who knows where we will be in twenty years time. Twenty years ago people would have never ever, in their wildest dreams guessed that people could sit down on a home desktop computer or laptop and connect to the internet along with millions of other people from across the world and chat and interact at such a speed that it's almost as if they are there in real life.Maybe in twenty years the world will be run by giant purple machines called "Rachez" that go around singing songs to annoy all the humans and then take there money for no reason whatsoever.Hey, it's just a guess okay! -
I've done some research into free hosting reselling services. They seem pretty simple but I want to hear from someone that has been using one for a while and what they think, how much they have earnt etc. I've heard some people have been able to make a fair bit from them, I guess it's just all based on how well you can advertise etc. If you don't know what I'm on about the basic principle is you sign up at a free reseller site (I think http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ is the best one) and then they provide you with a free site where people can purchase hosting space etc, all you do is modify the prices and packages and stuff and you receive all the profit you make. It's up to you to advertise your site though. Might be good if you have a lot of friends. The one i'm using, that looked the best is: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

Seagate To Laungh 750GB Drive !!
mediafork replied to miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Jesus Christ! 750 gigabytes? That is absolutely insane. Imagine how much crap I could fill up with that much space! I reckon it'd be an awesome investment as there is no way on earth you would need to upgrade for a long long time.I'd even think about investing in one just so I can say - I have 750 gigabytes! God how awesome would it be to just not have to worry about disc space.I want one! Now!! -
Some Fun With Algebra How good is your counting?
mediafork replied to Omkar™'s topic in Science and Technology
Heh.. Nice problem there... I think I've heard it before but it's always cool to hear these brain teasers again every now and then..Very mind boggling!Got anymore cool brain teasers for us? -
Wow it looks like a really good offer. Pity I'm in Australia and can't get it as it's for people in the US only. But still...I suppose it's a good innovative method to get people to check out their liscencing details but what's the bet that the majority of people simply get there pen drive and then erase the documents and use it for their own use...Anyway... keep trying Microsoft... Maybe one day someone'll reald your lisencing details!

Microsoft Hates OpenOffice
mediafork replied to nightfox1405241487's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Well when I first bought my computer I decided I would have to buy Microsoft Office for all my document needs as such, but then I discovered that OpenOffice was already installed on the system so I thought I'd give it a go.That was about a year ago and since I have found no real need to by Microsofts Office and have found OpenOffice to be great, reliable, simple to use and good for lots of different needs.Guess I must be another user with "limited needs"... bloody Microsoft! -
Pen Drive Ram On Windows Vista Features on Windows Vista
mediafork replied to Omkar™'s topic in Websites and Web Designing
Hmmm I can't really see how a pen drive could possibly act to give a system more ram? Would this even be remotely possible? On the other hand as some of the other forum members have said it is probably far more likely that it simply acts as a swap file. This could still be good but it wouldn't allow for actual additional ram.Of course I don't know any of this for sure but this is just what I am thinking, perhaps someone can set the record straight and tell us exactly how this thing works and if it can work at all? -
Paypal Without A Card... can i accept payments?
mediafork replied to amkint's topic in Computer Networks
I'm pretty sure they will let you accept payments but only to a certain point... Plus payPal can be really dodgy and they probably wont accept your card until you give them a different one. But hey... that's PayPal for you. -
I think that's a really good idea. Giving people initiative for making quality posts and helping others out on a forum can make the difference between a good forum and a great forum. You'll probably find people start treating others with more respect too as they know their reputation could be damaged if they go around acting like a jerk all the time.
