Dear Andrew,This camera is not for doing snapshots of documents, and is not intended to be conected to a computer. This camera is for being connected to a LCD projector, like projectors used to make that ugliest powerpoint business presentations in almost all companies. This is like a videocamera that can be connected to the projector for 3D objects presentation.I expect this information could be useful !

Yes, I think this lenses are ED. The nikon reference for this lens is AF-S NIKKOR 18-200 f/3.5-5.6G ED DX VR IIIt is a pretty long name ! I missed to say that this lens are for reflex cameras. Regarding the four stops question, the Nikon propaganda claims you can shoot four times more slow and the photo is not blurred. But I cannot understand this at all, how it can work if the subject is moving. Or is only for steady shots at night? but if is this, is really useful to shoot at not moving things when is dark? Anybody have idea?

About the new Nikon 18-200 VR lenses.Anybody has tested it?This glass seems to be a little slow, only f3.5 at 18mm and f4.5 at 200mm.Is the VR system really working?Nikon claims you can shoot four stops slower than normal lens.I don't understand how this system could perform in sports, or with low light but objects moving. These are also a DX lens. This means they are not full frame but APS sized. Is this the return of vignetting?Unfortunately there is no stock yet in the place where I live.

Great Web Site To Compare Digital Cameras
xip replied to kleinman's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Another great site to compare and review cameras is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ review compact cameras, SLRs and lenses too.The section I like a lot is the full resolution sample images. You can check the same image taken with different cameras and decide by yourself.Ken Rockwell also have a nice site plenty of reviews of nikon SLR equipment. -
I'm a Nikon user for a lot of years, all of my SLR equipment is Nikon, but in my opinion Canon is better for compact cameras, the lens are more clear and the AF system performs very well at low light conditions. I think Nikon has little interest in this low end market and their compact cameras are not so good as it's brand sounds. But in the SLR market, my vote is for Nikon. D70s is a very good camera, and D200 is impressive and outperforms other more expensive "pro" cameras. Canon Digital Rebel is also a good alternative for SRL, this is a very good camera to keep in mind. If you like compacts, Canon IXUS series have a very nice lens and a really pocket size (and price). The trick is not to affiliate to a single brand, but to look at the best of each one. You can get a lot of camera information and reviews at dpreview.com they have also image samples at full resolution and comparisons between brands.

I think, one option could be the use of a mini-CD for boot & storage of S.O. and then the USB drive for all data and applications.

My wife parents live in Tokyo and, when we go there to visit them, I always get frustation. They have a 50Mb DSL connection (simmetric), without any upload/download month limit, at only 25EURO (3500 yen) month.I live in Spain and here I had to pay 42EURO/month for a ridiculous ADSL of 1Mb/300Kb.

Here in Barcelona there are a lot of BUSes and public transport that runs with Hydrogen. It seems to be the future... or... not?Petrol companies are strong and do not allow others to catch a piece of their business. Sadly...

I think (like tmp) the next standard will be UMTS.In Europe all the companies are upgrading their systems to that technology.
