  1. No, I need a validation rule to be in Access; my db isn't connected to a website ibn any way.
  2. I have to create a whole project using Microfost Access. I have a field which will eventaually contain details of a a list of people's DOBs. I have added an input mask, so that it it displays the place holder __/__/____However, how can I validate this field. For example, not it is possible to type 30/10/1991 [dd/mm/yyyy]. How can this be changed so that it validates it correctly?
  3. I've never seen forum boards with this code. It may be a good idea to add two new buttons on the rich-text editor as peple may forgot about these new tags with time. Great work guys!
  4. That is absolutely AMAZING! It truely is. I guess it shows you how much is possible with CSS. The code is so clean and organised too -- sweet work.
  5. I use google becuase it's fast and reliable, well, in my opinion. I guess most people use google nowerdays. O.o
  6. I've tested it and it's pretty good. basic functions, but of course their ultra-smooth shading airbrush is great. Plus the 'canvas twister' is very unique and allows me to draw in the direction that I am most confortable with.
  7. I'm running an online drawing script, which utilzes BBCode like on forums. I'd like to implement a free BBCode editor on some of the commenting text boxes. I'm looking for somethign that is free, lightweight and cross-browser compatible. I've searched and serach all over the internet but I am unble to find anything. I have php, mySQL access and I don't mind if the script uses javascript. I want something that works similar to the bbCode editor on vBulletin, if not, something that works like the bbCode 'inserter' on these forums. Thanks in advanced. P.S. I'm not looking for a WYSIWIG html editor, but for somethign that outputs BB code tags instead.
  8. Although most people have javascript enabled, some people might use text-only browsers, and you have to htink of you whole audiene as a whole; you site has to have optimum cross-browser compatibility in order to gain as many visitors as you can!
  9. I never knew CSS was so powerful! I sure need to brush up on my CSS knowledge quite alot in order to achieve those kinds of menus. Nice graphics aswell.
  10. very nice cover design -- that's way better than I could ever do. The only thing I'd suggest is perhaps to make teh text a bit more readable; it's lovely but perhaps not very eye'catching. People need to read all the text in split seconds. Other than that, great work!
  11. Yes, photobucket is a great srevice, even if you don't pay. It takes ages to delete and reupload stuff under the same name though :/
  12. Alot of hosts have told me that they would never but banners in my site, but then they did. 100webspace was ok, until they started putting banners up. The banner code even messed up the Java thing that was running on my site as it interfered with the code. They then kept on timing out the server whenever I asked a script to perform a set of action of a length of time. I guess it was for security reasons, but they timed out my scripts way too fast. Another thing about the banners, they are legible to display banners at any time if you read the Terms of Service carefully, as are many other hosts. And wow, if you pay for hosting you get a T-shirt to advertise them! [sarcasm]how cool![/sarcasm]. They were good before they started to add those ugly banner. It's pretty hard to find a good, free bannerless host nowerdays.
  13. My mum never listens to me when I tell her to move to FF instead. This could be a bit of a risk, I suppose.

    New LCD Monitor

Lucky you! My monitor costed way less than that.
  15. I'm not so sure whether Macintosh allows you to play all the games, since I don't own one. However, I know that there are a few restrictions on what programs you can install on a macintosh since a lot of programs are primarily designed for Windows -- be aware of that. For an ordinary user who wants ot play games, there is no reason why Windows wouldn't be ok for you. Windows work fine for me and many other users out there. Macintosh was, imho, made for developers or graphics designers for various reasons which I don't want to go in to. I like macintosh's cool graphical user interface, and their slick screen, processor and mice designs. However, Windows is doing great for me so far, and after being a Windows user since I was little, I really don't have much to complain about...even if they do have their flaws.
  16. Mostof my contacts use MSN. I'm never used the google messenger, because I belive only people with Gmail account can use is. Is that true? If so, it's going to be a waste of disk space for me, since only a few of my friends use Gmail.
  17. Thanks for all you replies! But if everything is booted from a CD, is there any possibility of me installing new programs that only work on linux?
  18. Yes, it does have IE with a pop-up blocker. Nevertheless, I use Firefox so I have a pop-up blocker already. Apart from security fixes, I don't think there's much of a difference between SP1 & 2.
  19. The computer scanning one is hillarious. lol.
  20. I'd like to see how my website runs on different browers. However, I only have access to a Windows XP machine and I do not want to instally multiple OSs and dual boot the system all the time because it'll probably take up a fair bit of storage space on my hard drive. I'd like to test the site in Konqueror and Galeon without having to pay. I've heard of some free software called Knoppix. I'm not sure if it would work very well, and since I've never ran an operating system apart from Windows. Has anyone used Knoppix? Is it any good? RAM shouldn't be a problem either since I think 1GB would be sufficent. (quoted from Wikipedia) I have a few questions in ragard to this. a) what is a bootable CD / DVD-ROM and how do I get one? Is that just the Knoppix software installed on a CD... I do have access to a CD and DVD burner. could someone please explain to me what a BIOS Setup is? and how to I work out the BIOS setup also? Sorry for all the questiosn, I was never good at OSes
  21. I am currently design a website for this small hotel. I have never in the past made website that weren't for myself of for friends, so I want to make everything perfect becuase I'm going to earn a small bit of pocket money this time. This is currently my checklist of things that I will do, just to make sure the website runs nice and smoothly. - optimize graphics and photos for faster loading times- approximate loding speeds across diferent internet connection- make my HTML upto HTML 4.01 strickt (W3C checker)- use style sheet to control formatting of site, check for validity (in WC3's cheker)- test site in the following browsers and make necessary adjustments: Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera- keep the coding clean and easy to modify- tesing in different screen resolutionsIs there anything else I should check? Thanks for reading this.
  22. My grandad recently download IE 7 (beta 2). he can't uninstall it now. XD But then again, he never knew what "beta" meant, and so downloaded it without a sencond though. I'm not willing to tolerate big flaws and bugs, nor am I able to fix them, so I'll wait till the finalised release is made. Since I've started to use Firfox, I've never actually used IE, only when absolutely necessary.
  23. I've installed Apache on my Windows XP system -- it works nicely. The problem is that I can only access it via my own computer. Would there be any chance of me enabling access without having a proper DNS? I was thinking that there would be a way to specify an IP adress in order to do this. Obviously I can't do 127.0.0.1 (or whatever it is). I've gone on the command promt and looked up my IP. I get the following: Which one would I use? (sorry, I won't have access to another computer for another couple of days). Would there be anything else that I would need to adjust? I'm behind a router and a firewall (Panda Platinum 2005). Thanks for reading this ~ Kushika P.S I won't be hosting sites or anything, just for testing out things on different platforms, etc.
  24. Google is a reliable service, but with those rumour floating around that I don't think I'll use it. Besides, if the server breaks or deletes my files then well, I might have just used a bunch of CD RWs instead.
  25. Is this an upgrade of the old Windows Messenger? I'm kinda confused. If so, well, it sure has alot of catching up to do before it beats MSN Messenger.
