  1. Spyware are annoying little pricks that you just want to kill and kill it's creator but you cant so the best you can do is try to stop getting it first of all no more PRON! (Yes I did mispell that on purpose) and second dont go to any warez, hax, cracks sites they all give it to ya more defences would be a great free program Spybot search and destroy also NOD32 although an antivirus program GREAT for stopping those little buggers for getting in also firewalls are a great tactic, oh right what they do, they sometimes spy and you collect e-mails passwords creditcards anything that can be used against you other types just create annoying pop-ups even when your OFFLINE!!! usually PRON but can be other things to but if it doesnt do those things it more then likley wont be a spyware virus I hoped this helped if you actually read this and would like to know more please let me know
  2. if you want to share stuff the I recommend that you hook both computers up with a lan cable when you do this you have to go Network Connections menu right click local area connection and click properties then go all the way down click internet protocol and click properties then you will see 2 things saying obtiain automatically press both on "Use the following" when you assign the IP address just set one computer to 192.168.1.2 click subnet mask area it should automatically come up as 255.255.255.0 and just leave the DNS alone then go to your second computer and do the same thing but 192.168.1.3 make sure you disable any firewalls or adjust rules accodingly also make sure you right click and folder and go to properties and share it so you can exchange files between computers and the netgear takes over the origninally windows wireless program just uninstall it and then you can manually connect to your wireless router your self good luck
  3. I think you should really get this built by a shop no offence to you I mean you could be the smartest computer dude on the planet and I wouldn’t know but just the way you wrote it it made it seem like your not exactly fit to build your own computer here is what I think, I think it probably would be better if you got it built in a shop 1. Because you wouldn’t have to deal with and compatibility issues2. Usually you have warranty if anything doesn’t work or it screws up3. Usually if you by everything from one shop they waive the assembly fee4. You don’t have to worry about installing Windows on your computerSome idea’s if you still want to build your own1. Remember to always wear an anti-static wrist band you body generations thousands of watts one shock when assembling your computer can totally kill it remember it only takes 30 watts to short circuit your computer now most people says it’s pointless because the strap says to hook it to the side of your computer, it would just go through the computer and short circuit anyway, no the computer case is coated with a anti-static paint so any static will be absorbed by the paint. 2. If you want you can put 2 drives personally I would put more than one so you can burn on the fly say if you want to burn a CD then you could put the blank disc in your cd writer and but the cd you want to copy into your DVD burner and it copies instantly rather then having to copy to your temp files first then burning it which would take twice as long. 3. Nice Hard Drives I wish I had a raptor, I haven’t actually looked at your case but it says server case most server cases are full towers they are usually made to support more than 4 hard drives so you should probably be safe4. Man looking at your specs you have money (No offence) I would recommend you go for a dual 7800 although you would probably have to change the mother board it’ll be worth it5. your case comes with a power supply so make sure you not wasting your money on another one6. if your going to get that sound card I recommend the Gigaworks S750 Speakers great but a better sound card would be the X-FI all by creative7. RAM it may not seem like much but take a look at the http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ it’s probably the best ram you can get and take a look at memory basics it will explain all about the RAM’S timings Corsair XMS Xpert is what I would recommend8. When you go into the computer shop ask them what the response time of the monitor is Response time is how fast it will take your monitor to “Talk” and respond to it’s demands if you have something like 25ms then your going to experience “ghosting” this happens when your playing games your watching movies you see the outline of the last scene of frame and it could get irradiating in a fast paced game.9. Most motherboards usually have 4 or more USB ports but most cases mostly come with a dongle cable which adds 2 more and are usually located in the front.10. Also don’t forget fans if you using it as a gaming rig then your going to need fans more preferably water cooling it’s silent and more effective. 11. oh yah you also might want to get another Ethernet card so you can surf the web and play games or Lans and do other things at the same time such as download stuff and it wont lag or interrupt you gaming experience need Sorry if this has a lot of mistakes or makes no sense I pretty tired right now but I wanted to get this done if you need any extra help just contact me.James
  4. Everyone says PC'S are dying, I really hope thats not true I really dont mind ethire I own pratically everything XBOX PS2 Gamecube I love the XBOX since it's the fastest because I'm a very impatiant person but compared to the newer PS2 the thing is HUGE and I would take a fully juiced up Alienware ALX over PS3 or XBOX360 anyday but although I am an xbox fan the ps3 looks promising it's almost double what the xbox processing speed is and everyone says (at E3) that it's just like playing a movie. Althogh Microsoft will succeed in making the christmas rush unfortunatly Sony will miss out it's also double the price so most people will probebly rush for xbox, but to me unlike most people I would prefer a mouse and keyboard over a gamepad or joy anyday I like the ablity to control the movments easily with the mouse and the functionality with the keyboard also with a computer you can easily upgrade where consoles you cannot plus I really wouldn't want to have to pay extra for xbox live or anything like that. but thats my opinion
  5. Hahah my computer is full of junk I got 75 processes running right now on idle well kind of got windows media, sidebar, msn, google web accelertor and a lot of other usless junk which is prob why my 3dmark score is lower then I wish it would be
  6. I dont think google has ever been despreate I mean if you look at CNN/tech and you see something about the hosts of google I think they were just as suprised as we were on the big google boom I think they just got lucky and want to return it back into the public I mean they already donated millions into charity since they've been public yah it might die one day, one long day away but I dont think it was ever thier goal to create such a big ruccus about it hopefully though they'll keep evlolving and creating useful things for us
  7. hahah oops forgot to mention the crossfire and SLI war, well yah right now crossfire seems to suck and SLI is winning but give it time have you noticed how ATI didn't come out with a big sign saying we've released crossfire? Maybe that was for a reason the big christmas boom is coming and all companys want a taste of that so they released the sort of beta version of it but after the fix all the bugs and kinks I'm sure it'll make a good canadate against SLI
  8. hahah I cant belive this is back again Well I bet once ATI releas's it's 1000 series it's just going to smash Nvidia but now that ATI has declared it's soon to be release no doubt that Nvidia is going to make a comeback, with it's comeback, and just smash Ati's so basically it's a never ending battle just like this subject it's never ending it's going to go on and on so I dont think it's who's better it's just who's better during what time period
  9. Google, I feel, that it became popular by luck I mean if you read the news you can see that the owners are surprised on how much they succeeded it's just that some people liked it and if you do compare it with yahoo it's seems so much simplar and easy to use so everyone started recommending it to all their freinds and it just turns out that, by luck, it became so popular I mean check out http://search.yahoo.com/ search teh same thing in both engines and see the results it's almost usually the same but it's just that google is more well known and now that thier adding extra features such as the 2 GB Gmail and the newly released online libary it's just going to get even more popular
  10. Well what kind of skills do you have now? you might want to consider getting certified like killer here or go back to UNI and do some courses because todays world there are thousands of ppl just like you so your going to have some competition check this out for some good certifications https://www.comptia.org/ (Recently changed from .com)
  11. Well it kind of maters what kind of computer are you projecting to build? Such as a strong gaming computer or just a nice one to do work Also you can always go for second hand parts or just use the one you have in your computer already such as your CD Drive monitor RAM speakers mouse keyboard etc. if your on budget you should prob turn to intel AMD your going to have to spend a little extra on a bigger heat sink and fan the one with AMD will suffice if your not aiming for a high-end rig or for gaming get a motherboard with built in audio and graphics this will save you money also try to buy everyhting from one shop usually they will offer discount and also ask if they do a price match so if you can find it cheaper they'll match it but yah all the sites that other people named are good sites expecailly pricewatch.com look at extremetech.com buyers guide that might help you good luck JR
