I have often thought about overclocking my computer and graphics card.. but im a little scared.. its fear out of not being properly informed about what overclocking entails, but ive been trying to gain more knowledge.right now im running on a 2.66ghz pentium 4 processor and a 128mb Nvidia Geforce 6800 card... if i can improve speeds without hurting anything or having to buy anything, i would be happy... so any help or advice is greatly appreciated

I agree.. i havent had any personal experience with the trackball mouse.. and i dont really care too.. I bout a Logitec optical mouse when i got my computer 2 years ago... and it was really the best 15 bucks i could have spent.. It works fine for when i play games like Doom 3 and Halo, so i dont even think of gettin anything else

my computer is 2.66Ghz 1.5GB Ram... and it used to take forever to boot up.. then i had to wipe the hard drive and reinstall XP Pro... plus i added a second hard drive that i keep most of my stuff on... so now it only takes like 45 seconds generally to boot up..but yeah, depending on what all you have on the hard drive, and what has to load up during startup, it can take a while... you may try defragmenting your hard drive.. i dunno how much help that will do for startup, but it does help the computer

First Attempt At Comic-book-style Hero
gamerchick39 replied to clagnol1405241508's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
i think its pretty good for your first attempt.. What program did you use?The few pictures I have done like that, I did in photoshop. Took friggin forever because of the massive number of layers, but in the end it looks super good imo. I havent tried doin that with other programs though.I am assuming you sketched it on paper and scanned it into your computer, please correct me if I am wrong. Anyhoo really good job -

Im From Google - Googletalk Beta
gamerchick39 replied to sparx's topic in Websites and Web Designing
i installed Google Talk.. i invited my sister using her hotmail address so maybe you dont necessarily need to have gmail to use google talk.. kinda like the people who create MSN Messenger names using aol or comcast email addresses... But once again im not sure if thats gonna work, we will see.I think its kinda cool in a way.. its not innovative or new, but its kinda cool that i can use google for more than a search engine.. i like the branching out as long as it doesnt affect the one thing google does best! -
How To Create A Shutdown Icon On Desktop
gamerchick39 replied to soleimanian's topic in Websites and Web Designing
yeah it kinda sucks... im with knighteagle.i mean yeah he shouldt repost this but its kinda hard to go through all of the pages to see if something has been posted before. Maybe adding a search feature to the forums would be a good idea. I dunno if deleting the topics is such a good idea because that wont stop it from being reposted... it may make it worse but who knows, its something for the admin to debate about -
F.e.a.r. Siggy.. its big
gamerchick39 replied to gamerchick39's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Yeah i feel the same way... sure the little girl startles ya but ya get over it and just wanna knock the crap outta them hahaa.. and thanks well animated gifs usually repeat automatically, at least when i create them.. in flash when exporting the movie as an animated gif, it has an option to repeat a certain number of times or it can repeat forever. -
F.e.a.r. Siggy.. its big
gamerchick39 replied to gamerchick39's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
well its kinda funny cuz i do things different each time haha. For this sig, i made all of the pics i was going to use in photoshop, then i imported them into flash.i think i used 7 layers for the entire animation, 3 for the blur that transitions the zooming pics, one for the zoom, one for the text bouncing around, and one for the border, and one for the fade transition. It really depends on what im trying to do, but i generally try to keep things organized, which usually means everything has its own layer haha. -
so yeah a friend of mine wanted an animated signature for the new game F.E.A.R. so i decided to make him one... unfortunately i couldnt find any good video footage or really that many good pics so i had to make do with the little bit i found on google. So here it is: I used Flash and Photoshop to make this, lots of resizing and blurs in photoshop and motion tweens in flash. It took me about 20 minutes to create this, not too shabby.

ive got a Seagate internal 120gb HD andive got a Western Digital external 250gb HD haha the external was on sale for 79 bucks at circuit city, and was actually an internal, but i got on ebay and bought a case for it to make it external yay
-
yeah the second one isnt so bad, but the first one is definately too big to use for anything.... there is a huge size difference between the 2 just because of the second video. Haha thanks! it took me about an hour to make both of those. If the friggin programs would have cooperated it wouldnt have even been that long, but yeah flash is fun to play around in, so is photoshop.
-
The only real diffence is the fact that one has 2 videos and the other has a video and some characters..but i like them haha.. what do you guys think? I used photoshop and flash to make these.. i had to use premiere a little bit to edit the videos. It came out a lot grainier than i like, so if anyone knows a way to clean it up without increasing the file size too much please let me know

F.e.a.r. Single Player Demo Announced
gamerchick39 replied to gamerchick39's topic in Computer Gaming
So has anyone else played the demo yet.. I did and MAN IS IT AWESOME haha i cant wait for the full game to come out. The story, teh graphics, the gameplay, the creepy girl.. gah this game is great. My only gripe is that i wish the demo was a little longer. and i also gotta add, the particle gun friggin rocks.. i love this demo!!! -
It sounds like the defraggin is a little slow haha unless you just gotta crapload of stuff on there. Mine took about 20 minutes to defrag but it has very little on it. Now my external hard drive on the other hand, that one will take a long time. I started to defrag it, but after about 3 hours it wasnt even half way done.
