  1. Beats me.I just Google-ed it and it gave me this: https://www.google.com.sg/search?q=Google+S:en-US:official It's something like a search engine for their AdSense if I'm not wrong.(I wonder who will search for ads?)
  2. For basic home users, they are better off getting a computer from some brand name company like HP with complete warranty or a custom built computer provider who also offers that. And of course, make sure that the provider can be trusted. They say that the iMac Mini won't be too expensive...or what they say since when you are considering upgrade, you still have to buy the stuff directly from them...will be that still be considered cheap?!No, I don't think so.For UKers/British people, they should go for Tiny.com since I've read all about it from PCAnswers in Singapore. For Americans, I don't know since I dislike PCWorld/Magazine but for Singaporeans...I don't recommend anything other than building a computer yourself after buying all the parts from Sim Lim Square
  3. Tell me about your budget and try to reuse all your old equipment you have.I do suggest:-AMD 64-bit chip that won't be out of the game or market for some time-MSI 915/925 Neo2 Plantium-GeForce 6600-512MB RAM-DVD Burner: Plextor PX-712SA-Two hard drives, read the Hardware Workshop-Etc.*Note that the 925 only accepts DDR2 RAM.
  4. XBox will be the future.Yes, it does have less games which are pricey but it has excellent graphics, nice game titles like Halo 2, XBox Live and the modded Xbox, which I personally favour...LoL.Just wait and see...PS2 will be kicked out.
  5. When I was offered to try out the G4 at my cousin's house...I had problems with the mouse.LoL...Anyway, anything cheap/free comes at a price and getting a custom build PC with a shuttle casing will be much nicer, if not ugly.iMacs are supposed to be nice but when coupled with third party items, it might not really be that impressive.
  6. Mac Minis are affordable as long as you provide your own keyboard, mouse, etc. They just provide you with the head and you have to fit in the body(or so The Straits Time's Digital Life said). After all, I have never used Mac OS X but seen it before but honestly, I prefer Windows XP's looks but Fedora still beats Windows. As for the hardware, I'll rather build one myself since it'll be cheaper and can be upgraded later, etc.I hate Apple's iPods but their computers ain't ugly except for their price tags. The Mac Mini might change that but maybe I'll look for a second one and install a Windows XP/Fedora/dual-boot system.
  7. Who knows...scientists think they only know 10% of the universe and I doubt that since the universe is just too...big. For Christians, you all might say God knows since he created it but well, the universe is bigger than you ever imagine and no one can actually travel across it if it's ever expanding.Image hijacking a Starfleet vessel and transwarping it.Even if you go into some sort of sleeper ship, I think the ship will break down first...LoL.I watch too much science fiction but there are no answers for your questions Earth will be a dead floating planet even (if) before the Big Crunch starts. At this rate of pollution, enviromental groups are only slowng down the inevitable...
  8. Something like Dark Throne and among the both I have played so far but I think Dark Throne is much nicer :)More features than Utopia, from my opinion.
  9. No GMail account should be without a GMail Drive LinkTheValiant: http://www.viksoe.dk/code/gmail.htm Have fun with it.It really works but uses IE/WE to upload the files into your account.Google didn't say it's not legal to do that so wait till they issue a warning. They're not like MSN or Yahoo!
  10. No wonder my cousin keeps complaining about studying in UK...is it true that they even imposed VAL on laundry there?! LoL...Anyway, I used to adhere to these laws but right now, I use a mix of freewares and illegal software like keygens...And one question: How will the goverment know if I use programs like P2P?
  11. In the 1960s, Singaporeans were mostly speaking Chinese dialects and the goverment encouraged people at that generation to learn English as the Americans were on the winning side.My father was not one of them, but close.Right now, it seems abit like the opposite and NOW the goverment encourages my generation to learn Chinese well...Believe it or not, most Chinese I know of can't speak Chinese well....but even if China outgrows the US economy, the US has already set up the rules for the game. They are like the only nation that can place aircraft carriers around the world.
  12. Gmail with GMail Drive makes one hell of a email account. It's like 5 times better than Yahoo! Mail, with no attached ads, Google Adsense, 1GB inbox, user-friendly interface, etc you can name of
  13. At the moment, there are three main theories about the future of the existence of the universe. The Slowing Down Theory...states that the universe could go on expanding continusously and everything would gradually fade away and eventually the whole universe will become just a mist of cold particiles. If more matters exists than is known about, gravity will slow down the expansion of the universe and pull everything back until galaxies crush and will look like the Cartwhell Galaxy. This universe might work like a heart, expands, shrinks, again and again, etc.
  14. Why I actually believe that the Big Bang theory is correct because a echo-like signal was detected from space by radio telescopes and this echo could have been the energy which spread out into space after the Big Bang.If the universe containes only the matter that we know about, it would have expanded too quickly after the Big Bang for galaxies to form. This means if the theory is true, we only know a small fraction of all the matters in the universe.
  15. Ah well...SOHO may use those but average users will just need 250MB.If the service provider does provide a powerful spam filter and POP access, I'm up for it but the features do count too...like the interface, customer support, servers, etc. After all, it's nice to have GMail Drive for your GMail account
  16. Ah, yes arkad.I am a Singaporean too.Anyway, you guys have your favourite email service providers and I have my own so well, exchange of ideas, etc.GMail rules...and Yahoo! could have as long as they stop bundling their ads with the emails I sent!
  17. One finds what the other misses :)I use too many antivirus, antispyware, etc.I use:-AntiVir Personal Edition for real-time scanning-McAfee Viruscan for on-demand (downloaded serial)-Microsoft Antispyware Beta 1-Prevx Home 2.0-Spybot - Search & Destroy-Ad-Aware SE Standard Edition (downloaded serial)-SpywareBlaster3.2-Nero UE 6.6-InJoy Personal Firewall-Service Pack 2-Mozilla SuiteGood enough? LoL...
  18. I use Ares Galaxy too.Favourite chatrooms there will the PC_Help and its network. The download speed there is fast but it does depends on the number of users who have the files...Ares Galaxy, no spyware unless you are stupid enough to leave the boxes checked! Another favourite one of mine will be Warez P2P Client but it displays less results than Ares so Ares Galaxy rules.
  19. Well, Adidas is a German company...and I think these shoes are overpriced.Wait for another ten years and buy one...LoL.Anyway, there is no need for these kind of overpriced shoes...does jogging needs to be that accurate?! No unless scientists uses them for whatever freak experiments
  20. If you ask me, I'll ask for a budget, cost effective AMD 64-bit chip with maybe a MSI 915X Neo 2 Plantium with 1GB RAM, a DVD burner, 9-in-1 media card reader, my old hp pavilion f1523 LCD screen, Windows XP Pro, etc.But in Singapore, AMD chips are uncommon.Out of 10 PCs here, 9 is bundled with Intel.
  21. GMail and Thunderbird will make an explosive combination...(and it means it works beyond expectations for me) whereas Yahoo!(free) makes sure every email you send is bundled with their ad.So what if Yahoo! has Briefcase? You can always use GMail Drive for GMail
  22. I don't think you'll earn much from my opinion since people like me are using Firefox's AdBlock to block the ads and I never ever bothered to look at them. They are not agressive but it'll be worth a try But honestly, I don't think it'll be worth it if you are buying your own domain name.Try Google-ing Dot.tk for a free domain?
  23. arkad, you Singaporean?I think GMail is the best overall but Yahoo! the safest.Hotmail gives a miserable 2MB space unless you trick them. But Hotmail will be my main account as I always go on MSN to chat and will know when a new mail is recieved.
  24. I think 1 terabyte is meant for big companies with names like Microsoft...and I doubt any ordinary spam can get through their spam filters if they activate it.Anyway, you're better off with GMail, with Google's less agressive AdSense advertising than Yahoo!'s or Hotmail's ones.I use Hotmail only because they have MSN Messenger, which most of my friends use.
  25. Hey, believe it or not, I have no religion but I did went to Sunday classes with my tutor who went to Perth and to a temple with my parents. And yes, I have read the Bible and I do respect it even though I'm no Christian but I just don't understand some words that don't even appear in the Oxford dictionary. So conclusion? I respect all religions but sad to say, I don't believe in them.
