  1. It probably isn't finalizing the disc when you burn it... and it won't be able to be read by any media reader of any sort. Either that or you just get unlucky sometimes and are having dodgy burns... try different brand CD's, different burning software or different burning speeds.
  2. I agree with you mate... I was saying that America is responsible for America only, they are not responsible for the problems anywhere else so it's not really fair to say that they are selfish in not helping out others. On the other hand I was just giving an example of another incident that may support his argument... I never said that what they have done was wrong or right. But yeah I totally agree with your post.. and I apologise if my post seemed a little biased in some way.
  3. It does seem a little selfish unfortunately... but just because America is one of the rishest countries in the world it doesn't mean they are responsible for everyone else. Their own people are going to take priority over everyone else, and seeing as though they have not yet taken much action for their own problems yet, I don't see why they would jump on Africa's problems first. Maybe when the American government has put some sort of plan into action and seen that it can work, they may then try to help out other countries with their plans.Although, does anyone remember the tsumani's? When they happened, the Australian government here created a big Tsunami Appeal to raise money to help them out, and we ended up raising so many million dollars whereas the American government only donated a small fraction to the cause. Comparing the size of America to Australia, you'd think they could afford to donate a whole lot more than they did, so I guess this probably supports your idea that America does think of themselves before others (of course this is aimed at the governemt of America, not it's people.... I don't want people being offended here!) and can be a little selfish.Yeah, it is unfortunate... but what can we do about it? Not a lot
  4. Porn is everywhere already anyway... this is no surprise to me at all. I don't think people should be worried about kids getting their hands on porn for these things, I mean, just because a lot of kids might have a PSP it doesn't mean these pornos are targeted at them. You have to be old enough to get your hands on it, so why is everyone bringing up the topic of children?
  5. Hopefully? There shouldn't be any doubt. PS2 is awesome as it is, and the PS3 will be a massive improvement on it so of course it's going to be awesome! Just check out the Killzone 2 demo clip, all doubt will be erased.
  6. Haven't heard much about the next gen systems? They have been discussed quite a bit in these forums, all you have to do is read through them to find most the stuff you want to know about them.HALO 3 FOR THE PC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! come one day hopefully because I wont be buying an Xbox360
  7. It obviously has it's disadvantages... but I'm sure it's applications would fit in very nicely with some people. Just because it's useless to you does not make it crap, it may be very useful for someone else. Don't get me wrong though, I am not saying this thing is fantastic, I would never buy it because it is useless to me... but I'm just saying it ain't really that bad either.
  8. That's exactly how I feel... it's cool and everything but I just have no use for it.
  9. LoL you got that idea from the Simpsons right? Funny stuff, thought I'd mention it =) Anyway I don't think this device ain't really that bad of an idea. A lot of people carry around with them these Swiss Army Pocket Knives everywhere they go, so why not have a USB stick in there along with the knives/scissors/screwdrivers and what ever else those things have. I have a friend who carries one with him all the time, and he works in I.T. (working with computers)... so this tool might be very handy for him. It's just like adding a camera in a mobile phone... if you want a camera, go buy one, right? And have one phone and one camera. Having both in one device makes things a little easier for everyone... and yeah it is also just for a bit of fun. But we see these sort of "combination devices" all over the place nowadays.
  10. Yeah these things have been around for ages now.. but nonetheless I'm sure a lot of people don't about them otherwise so this will be helpful to them. I personally don't bother with any of them, I once installed one and it didn't work (can't remember which one it was) so I just gave up on them and never really gave them another chance.Still, it's a good post and I do know of a lot of people that do use the PowerToys... so if you haven't already tried them out, they're worth looking at.
  11. It's not really that long to wait... before you know it all these new systems will be on the shelves and all the spoilt kids will be bragging that they have one.You can't imagine how great the graphics will be? Have you had a look at the other threads about the Playstation 3 in here? There are some great pics (screenshots) in there and I also posted a few video clips of in game footage that will give you a pretty good idea of what we can expect of the graphics quality. Check out the Killzone video clip to be really amazed, it shows actual in game (game-play... not pre-rendered crap) footage that is just truely incredible.... although I have heard that that clip wasn't actually played on PS3 hardware at the time (at e3) so I don't know for sure what the full story is with it. It was a friend of mine that told me about this... he said he read reviews from https://www.penny-arcade.com/ but I never went there myself to check it out, apparently they claimed all the PS3 demo's were not actual in game demo's and didn't reflect the real performance capabilities of the system. If anyone wants to look into it go ahead, but for now I'm just going to believe that all the screenshots and video clips I've seen are real and show exactly what I can expect to see on the ps3 =)
  12. From what I've read, Nintendo don't have much of an idea what is going on with the Revolution. Apparently all they had at e3 was the plastic case of the Revolution... no game demos, no hardware or anything, just the case. Either they are keeping everything a huge secret to try to have some big fantastic release that REALLY WILL be revolutionary... or they are just falling way behind and there's no way they will be releasing this at the same time as the Playstation 3.
  13. I've found quite a few decent videos from e3 that really display the true quality and power of the playstation 3. *These are links to streamed .wmv files, but if you wish you can download and save the files to your hard disk using the link just under the media window Killzone This one impressed me the most. It is a great display of the in game graphics and physics capabilities, truely stunning, a must see. Gran Turismo 5 Not the most impressive demo I've seen but it is a great example of what we can expect to see in this great new addition to the best racing simulator ever created. This seems to only be replay footage and not actual in game footage, but I expect the in game graphics to be just as good anyway. Unreal Tournament 2007 Action packed demo with (once again!) very impressive graphics! Another must see. Tech demo - Rubber duckies A technical demo displaying the true physics and graphics power of the PS3... also a very cool demo involving an Eyetoy. This one isn't very exciting but it's just an awesome example of the physics capabilities, and it even includes a comparison to the PS2. I grabbed all these videos from here, I could have listed more but I didn't want to make it too lengthy... so if you want to see more then just go to that link. http://de.ign.com/ Hope you enjoy the vids. Oh and if you want to compare these to the Xbox 360 that site also has a section with X360 videos... just go to the top of the page and click the "X360" tab.
  14. Hey,I have an AMD Athlon64 3000+ CPU, so I'm guessing I could upgrade my OS to X64, right?I'm just wondering though, because I have not really heard a lot about this OS, what are the advantages of the 64 bit OS over regular Windows XP? Does it run faster or cope with multi-tasking any better? Does it look any different from regular XP, or does it have a different interface? If it really isn't worth the upgrade then I won't bother with it... but if it has some great advatages then I might have to give it a go.luccie... what do you mean by not being able to "mount images"? If there are more problems like this with X64 then I will just stick with XP, it really doesn't bother me anyway, I don't really have any problems with it.
  15. Yeah Dreamcast is a Sega console... their latest one actually. And yes I think you are right, that always seemed to be the order in that consoles were released... although I don't think Sega will be making any more consoles... at least not any time soon anyway.
  16. Thanks for all those screen shots... those graphics are just amazing. I'll have to start saving my money so I have enough to get one when it comes out.I'm not too bothered about the Xbox 360 coming out before the PS3 either, I don't see it as any sort of advantage to them and I still expect the PS3 to be the more successful console.
  17. Yeah that's it... it was called Sega CD, and I'm pretty sure it was a different system to the Sega Saturn... but I'm not completely 100% sure, I never was a big Sega fan. I just remember playing the old Sega CD system at my next door neighbour's house when I was a little kid, and it seems a hell of a lot earlier than the Sega Saturn came out.And yeah I understand why the Revolution was kept out... the latest Nintendo consoles have seemed to be left out of new console conversation's recently, which is a shame really... I used to be a massive Nintendo fan.
  18. Screenshots? I haven't yet been able to find any in game screen shots for the PS3... if you have any links to some I'd very much appreciate it if you could post them. I've heard that the graphics are awesome... almost life-like, so I'm very interested in actually seeing some.
  19. The PS3 will have a built in projector? I haven't heard of that yet, where did you get that information? It's kind of hard to believe that it will actually have one, considering it can cost several thousand dollars just to buy a stand alone projector on it's own. I have seen mock pictures of PS3 designs that people had made, and one of them included a projector in it's system but I really doubt it will be an actual feature of the PS3... unless someone wants to prove me wrong. I would be stoked knowing that it really had this feature, but it really isn't realistic.
  20. LoL, the really sad thing is... you don't even get to shoot animals. All you get to shoot at is cardboard targets. You may as well just play a fps game... I can guarantee it would be a WHOLE lot more fun as well.
  21. There was actually an old Sega system that used a CD drive for it's games. I can't remember exactly what it was called, it may have even been an add-on to the sega master system or something... but I know there was a CD system made by Sega and it was out a long time before the Playstation came out. But yes, the Playstation was the first popular console to use a CD drive. As for the PS3, those specs are amazing! I can't wait for it to come out, hopefully the release price isn't too high, I'd love to have one as soon as it comes out. Of course I'll have to trade in my PS2 to be able to afford it, but once I have a PS3 my old PS2 will basically be useless to me... ahh I love backwards compatibility I'm really looking forward to Gran Turismo 5, and I'm hoping for sequels to the Ratchet and Clank series, and the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. I will buy the PS3 for these games alone. In my opinion I think the Xbox 360 has nothing on the Playstation 3, and as far as sales and success goes for these two consoles I think the PS3 will win hands down. Currently the only advantage the Xbox has over the PS2 is it's better graphics capabilities... this time around Sony's system will have the advantage (from what I've heard anyway), and that coupled with the great quality games it has to offer gives me the idea that it will be much more successful than the Xbox. I guess it does just come down to personal preference though, you're either a Playstation fan or you're an Xbox fan (or a Nintendo fan, but for some reason Nintendo's new console has been left out of this debate). Obviously you will want your prefered system to be more successful... it's like following a team in any sport.
  22. It's a bit different than your regular P2P program like Ares though, in that it will only be used to share programs/shows that have been broadcasted on the BBC television network. If you really wanted to be downloading episodes broadcasted on BBC your best option would be to use this new P2P program made for BBC, "The IMP" or what ever it's name is. You could probably find some of the episodes on programs like Ares, but using the IMP to get these episodes directly from it's original source (BBC) will be much more reliable. And of course you continue to use Ares (or what ever other P2P system you may use to share files) for all your other needs.
  23. I actually quite like it, even if it does look similar to a desktop computer tower. Although I won't be buying one of these, I'm not an Xbox fan, I'm glad to see they have moved right away from that big ugly lump of black plastic design they used for their original Xbox. The thing is just way too big and looks hideous. They have slimmed the new one down quite a bit, and given it a much more stylish look... I know that if I was to buy either of the Xbox systems, I'd much rather have the new Xbox 360 sitting next to my TV than the original Xbox.
  24. Ok I joined up on this thing as well, with my email account jimmybbeam AT gmail.com. Hopefully this ain't a scam and the money is actually paid out... a little extra cash at the end of the month would be nice, no matter how little it is... and at the same time I'm helping out you guys for a good cause.Good luck in getting your target amount of money for this project, what ever your target may be.
  25. After a quick search I came across this and thought you guys would be interested in it... "Well, there you have it. The thing really looks that way, and it is really called Xbox 360. Apparently this picture was snapped at a “Xbox 360 Revealed” launch party in Los Angeles, organized by Microsoft. Question - will the Xbox Live headset be included standard with each Xbox 360 console sold? The controller really is white, and there is no cord to see. It probably really is wireless! There is another little gadget on the right and it looks like a little camera, similar to Sony’s Eye-Toy for Playstation 2." The new Xbox looks really good in my opinion... a huge improvement on the first one anyway. And from the looks of it, the controllers are going to be wireless. As mentioned in the article, there is no cord to be seen on that controller, and even without seeing a picture of the controller you could come to the conclusion that they will be wireless because there doesn't seem to be any controller ports on the actual Xbox. Well, E3 is on in a couple of days so I guess we'll finally get to see the actual thing anyway. I can't wait to see screenshots, or clips even, of games being played on these new systems.
