obstructing

I was wondering about peoples opinions of Chromeless windows? Aesthetically, I find them wonderful, but after reading a little about them, they seem to be frowned upon in the design community. What are your opinions?

I voted for. I watched a documentary a little while back, about 'designer babies', which at first left me confused as to my opinion. The idea of a couple with a small child, who needs stem cells to save it's life, having another baby just to give life to the first made me think about how awful it would be to grow up knowing your life was given just to save another - and what about the child who's life was saved? Imagine having such a debt to your sibling, it would be madness. It's wonderful that technology has advanced to a degree where we can do this, but ethically it's a little cloudy. I suppose my opinion would make itself known to me, if I was put in that situation.

I have a feeling that it may be called 'amphetamines'.

I won't be using Illustrator as a replacement for Photoshop - more to compliment it. That website is amazing, though, so thank you!

This is embarrasing. I am a twenty three year old guy, who mainly reads Kafka, Hunter S. Thompson, Camus, Vonnegut... but... I love reading Harry Potter. It's awful, and I cannot help myself. I can almost feel my braincells dying with each line read.

Excellent advice - I started designing webpages a few years ago, just by viewing the source of websites where i'd seen something that I wanted to use. I didn't just copy, obviously, as there is no point in doing that at all - but gradually taught myself what I needed to know. I have dreamweaver et al, now also, but never use them.

More people use Windows, as all new PCs come pre-installed with it! For the majority, a new operating system is as likely as swapping their car for a spaceship. Most people just do not know what to do - or that there are even alternatives. It will take a big marketing campaign, and an amazing new OS to even attempt to dent the Windows monopoly. I'd lke to see a PC version of the Mac OS, myself.

I think that you should use the blue layout, but change the colours a little, and remove the flowers. Also use a more professional looking font for the 'news' headers, the comic style font always looks a little 'my first webpage', if you know what I mean. Good work, though!

I've just found this site, which looks quite useful. It has a plug-in search engine, and many of the plug-ins it offers, are free. Hope this is alright.

I've recently started to use Adobe Illustrator, after mainly concentrating on Photoshop for my design work. I'm just not getting the hang of it. Could anyone point me in the direction of useful design tutorials? Thanks.

Firefox. Definately. IE leaks ridiculously. I used to use Opera, a few years back, but never really liked it.
