  1. Thanks for the tips, I didn't know about the life owner one, although I have been having phone calls where somebody else can charge you for a while. THe only thing to do is hang up guys (or if it's a human voice you could blow a whistle down the phone and bust his ear drums
  2. wow avalon - somebody who's had ups and downs in life and likes to help people - sounds like me! The "ultimate statistic" is that "everybody dies" - 100% true (at least for us mortal people)The more problems people have, the more they try to escape, but what they often don't realise is that hiding only makes it worse. Sometimes the only thing to do is the most difficult challenge of all : face your fears.Life is a wonderful gift - having been pretty depressed myself I can appreciate that fact even more - life is great. People wanting to end their lives have my deepest sympathies. However, suicide as a means of escape is an action that cannot be reversed (he says - stating the obvious)As for some people being introvert while others are extrovert -if people can behave in a civilised way (and I say "IF"), it shouldn't matter. If people are really introvert it can make things difficult for people who want to get to know them better, but with a little patience it is possible to talk to anybody really - even the most secluded people on the face of this planet.
  3. I listen to almost anything except pop music nowadays. I went through a phase of it a few years ago, but only really because the school bus drivers listened to pop music. It gets on my nerves because they barely ever do anything new that hasn't been done before.
  4. Yeah me too - all depends what mood I'm in - I find that if I listen to something too much it loses it's appeal, so listening to several types of music is the best way to stay interested.
  5. Well I'm not in the USA, so I might be pointless for me to say this, but to me it seemed to be a choice between the devil you do know and the devil you don't know. THey both had up points and down points, though from what I have heard, Kerry's stance on abortion and gay marriage was what let him down.
  6. Sounds like PHP is just a "little" more popular than poor asp.I have to say I do see more php pages around than asp pages. I think that this may have answered my questions about which language to use. (Even though I didn't post this topic.) Thanks.
  7. I dislike sites that rely entirely on flash, as they are usually overly complex, take too long to load (especvially for those poor 56k users )Menus in flash are a good idea, as they make a site more dynamic, but again they still need to be kept simple, as too much is a bit of a turn-off.
  8. How feasable is it to create a webpage based rpg using php? Is this an bad idea, only I know of several online games that have used this language.
  9. I am hoping to create an online rpg, loosely based on the dungeons and dragons rule set but probably altered to suit my own needs.I am hoping to host it on this site once I have enough posts (it will be almost entirely text based, so it won't require much BW or storage). I am planning on using php to create this game (it only needs to be browser based, no graphics, pure text -CLASSIC)Can anybody advise where the best place to start is (with regards to the programming side - design wise I'm sure I can manage)
