Video Game Difficulty Different campaigns
Shahrukh replied to Zagubadu?'s topic in Science and Technology
Thank you. But then having a story for each difficulty level is not practical for every game. People will miss out on some campaigns (as people have mentioned before). Those who can't play the harder levels will miss the story in them. Those who play well will be bored by the easier campaigns and might miss the story in them. So, even if a company made a game like that, each user will still get to play one campaign. If we say that the player of an easier campaign will learn from it and be able to play the harder campaigns, then why not just add those harder levels at the end of the easier campaign and give the user the option to keep the difficulty at his choice? Like the Devil May Cry example (it has the option of selecting difficulty level too). -
Flying Cars In The Future will flying cars exist in the future?
Shahrukh replied to mra550's topic in Science and Technology
Ah...yes, I didn't count that in. They won't be operational at nights either. But it can be used as a back-up / fail-safe to fuel running out in mid air. We can make layered roads too. One underground, one on the road (the normal ones, that is) and one above the normal road on pillars or something; this can be limited to only the more crowded areas to decrease cost. Exactly. -
Hello, World! from the guy whose name is written over to the right

Flash, image, html - I can do them all. Hmmm...nothing. I do this for fun. Which means no commitments either. -
Agreed, but its the simplest to get things started. And a tutorial site will usually not require the advanced features and complexity of the CMS you mentioned. Also, I had another idea about adding comments to your site. That is: OpenSocial and a Google account. It lets user sign in to your site using any of the Open Social networks. So people don't have to make a new account and it prevents spam. I think they have a rating widget too. Details here: https://developers.google.com/opensocial/?csw=1

When we study economics, we are taught that the principal of diminishing marginal value of consumer goods and of money. Which simply means that for each similar item you consume, you'll get less benefit from it. e.g. when you are thirsty, the first glass of water will give more satisfaction than the next one and so on. When this is applied to money, the very rich people have less use of the money than the poor people. And putting a limit to one's maximum assets is wrong. I agree with that. However, only a selfish person would make his furniture out of gold when in the same city people have to sleep on the streets. Therefore, I am not saying the government, etc. should enforce a maximum limit. What I meant was that people should feel responsible themselves to limit their luxury and do the general good rather than be selfish and swim in luxuries while others who did not get enough riches starve in their homes. You took the simplicity wrong. It does not mean not wishing for more money. Or not spending that money on yourself. Or not wearing expensive clothing. It means that you should spend your money to fulfil your needs and not waste it in...luxury. e.g. When you can buy a decent Mercedes, you need not go for a WV Beetle, but going for a Rolls Royce would be using your money having lesser utility per dollar. You could have used that elsewhere and made better use of the money. I am not sure whether I made myself clear. And I did rather go off topic. Anyway, I meant that money should be used more for the 'general good' rather than luxury, and that means after satisfying all your needs. P.S. The names of cars are used just as an example for their price and class. Also, some people may 'need' something which is a luxury for another.

Video Game Difficulty Different campaigns
Shahrukh replied to Zagubadu?'s topic in Science and Technology
As far as my observation goes, video games tend to adjust difficulty levels with the progress of the campaign; although, this is not done in all games. For example, in Devil May Cry, the starting levels are easier than the later levels. The player is supposed to be less experienced then and has less weapons.Where as, in Mass Effect, the difficult does not increase much by itself, but there is an option to increase it at one's own will (at least there is one in Mass Effect 2, can't remember about the first part of the series). -
Flying Cars In The Future will flying cars exist in the future?
Shahrukh replied to mra550's topic in Science and Technology
Although I can't say whether it will be able to produce enough energy to keep the car in air, the 'fuel' used in flying cars can be solar power. Since they'll be up in the sky, they can catch sunlight easily. This will also deal with the problem of fuel running out and the car falling down. Engine failures, etc. are another thing. But, hey, that can (and does) happen with aeroplanes too. A question that I would like to ask is that why would we need flying cars? The only benefit I can make out is that we can head in a straight line to our destination, thus, reducing travel time. I don't think there are any additional benefits. (Apart from looking cool, that is) -
Programming Language i want to invent this
Shahrukh replied to akira550's topic in Science and Technology
You are right. But like you said, Windows ships with some PCs only whereas Mac OS goes with every Mac. And there are so many flavours of Windows to go with, where as Mac OS gives everything with every Mac. I think that which OS you like is basically a matter of needs. For example, I do all my work/study/web design/coding on my Mac. But when its time to blow off steam, I go play video games on my brother's desktop PC with Windows (which didn't ship with the computer). In my opinion, Mac OS beats Windows for laptops with a trackpad. Its much much easier to operate with its multi-touch trackpad. In addition, I think the UI of Mac OS is way better than Windows. But then again, that is my choice. Other people will have different opinions. -

Thank you, everyone, for the greetings and the compliments to the site. Yes, it is pretty messed up.I redesigned it recently and have not had time to put things in their appropriate places. The folders without an index page are so for a purpose: I can upload stuff in them and not have to update the page, since I don't have much time these days. The namaz/Namaz thing is Mac's iWeb's fault. I made that page in it just to test it out. And later didn't like it.I haven't corrected it yet because I will upload all of the working site after my exams (2 months from now). I'll have more time then.I can help with anyone's graphical designing, coding or any other problem. I make a lot of splash pages just for the fun of making them. I can make one for anyone else too. -
Capitalism Versus Comunism The finally battle
Shahrukh replied to fermin25's topic in General Discussion
There is a third economic system as well, which seems to have the best of both capitalism and communism and the worst of none. Its called: Khilafat System It was introduced by the Islamic Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) almost fifteen hundred years ago. While it lasted, the Islamic nation was spreading all over the world. But then some corrupt people seized power and started the system of Kings and heredity rule. The basic points of the Khilafat system are as follows: People elect the government. Government discusses with the people and among themselves before making a decision. The people are given certain rights, irrespective of race or religion. It is the responsibility of the Khalifa (the leader) to feed and give shelter to the people. A state treasury is maintained, which is a property of the people. People don't pay unjust taxes. A few taxes on property are levied only. All Muslims are supposed to give out a small of their fixed assets that are for trading to the poor among them. This removes social classes. If you want to study it in detail, I am sure wikipedia will have much to say. -

Flying Cars In The Future will flying cars exist in the future?
Shahrukh replied to mra550's topic in Science and Technology
But flying cars do exist! They are called helicopter. :)Of course, the specs are not the same as a traditional car, but both serve the same purpose: transportation.Yes, they are more expensive and not that commonplace. But still, I see no difference between a helicopter and a flying car.If everyone could afford it, maybe cars would be replaced by helicopters. That would be pretty messy, though. -
Piracy Helps To Reduce Movie/music/game/software Prices?
Shahrukh replied to H.O.D's topic in Science and Technology
Piracy helps people who can't afford the actual software and aren't really going to use it much anyway. Some of them may like the software so much that they may buy the actual software (very rarely though). If prices are lower, then people would definitely prefer original software. However, its always a matter of net revenue. For example:10 copies sold * 350 per copy = 350070 copies sold * 50 per copy = 3500I doubt that lower prices will have that much increase in sales. So if 10 people buy the software and the 60 other use a pirated copy, then even if 1 of those are moved to buy the original, the net revenue is higher.Note: I still do not like piracy. Its unethical. -
Yes, I believe in life beyond our solar system. I doubt them being humanoid, but maybe some plant-like, gooey stuff. Humans are the smartest species, according to me and my religion (Islam). If humans can invent practical space travel methods, who knows what we'll find. I doubt that. Even with great power sources like nuclear power, it would be very hard to get things going on those 'space colonies'. And having a natural habitat would not really be possible, at least not with the current technology. Way bigger than us. Considering that some stars a lot bigger than our sun, the species on their planets might be bigger too. Doubt it. If you consider the science behind matter, it doesn't seem very possible. There is still a limit to our understanding of the universe. P.S. Just my opinion.

What If Sites Used Im Instead Of Email To Contact?
Shahrukh replied to Baniboy's topic in Science and Technology
Firstly, your idea would require you to be logged in to the site that wants to send you the notification. Like facebook. And even facebook emails stuff.Secondly, isn't it better to collect all the messages at one place rather than at each site?Thirdly, isn't it more convenient that we can see all the messages at our will rather than get disturbed all day with such messages? So, 1+2+3 = isn't email better? -
Video Game Difficulty Different campaigns
Shahrukh replied to Zagubadu?'s topic in Science and Technology
I don't think that the option of changing difficulty is to increase replayability (wrong spelling?). Its there to make a game more challenging than normal or easier if you can't seem to be able to play it at default difficulty and/or are new to gaming or that genre of gaming, etc. etc. -
In my opinion, the real problem is not the growth of population but rather the provision of amenities to the population. If everyone follows good ethics in the strictest sense, which is pretty improbable, the growth of number of people to feed and accommodate will not be a problem.Just as one example, if all the ten richest people of the world shared their assets with the poor people, many families will be able to move to places where they can live for generations without overpopulation being an issue in that area. There should be a limit to 'luxury', anyway, in my opinion. Simplicity is always best.

Mirror Dimensions This wierd thing about mirrors
Shahrukh replied to devin_love3's topic in Science and Technology
About infinite mirrors: Although, it should be possible theoretically to get infinite mirror reflection by using some equipment to make exactly straight mirrors and align them exactly opposite, it cannot be done generally. About the colour of a mirror: The colour of the mirror is silver. Since its basically an alloy surface, which is silver, that has been smoothed out and painted on a glass to prevent it from getting dusty and bending. Just look at the back of a mirror. Its the same thing from the other side, just smoothed out. About colour of infinite mirrors: I have always bound it to be a light greenish colour. Especially noticeable in barber shops. -
My definition of a genius:A person that has better logic and analysis skills than the average person.i.e. higher intelligenceGenerally speaking, this relates mostly to mathematical and scientific things. If you refer to a genius painter, then the word you want is creative, not genius. Same goes for dexterity for sculpting (or any thing else having to do with hand work). If we talk only about being ahead of the other person, then computers are way ahead of any human while doing mathematical things; however, a human is generally more genius than a computer. Computers can be better at chess, reversi and all other logical games.Perhaps giving an example of a computer is not very appropriate since all their hardware is working on one thing at a time whereas a human has to process much much more data.Oh, well...

Like many other people here, I believe that nothing depends upon a number or a specific day. Some days do have religious importance, like Friday for Muslims and Sunday for Christians, but that does not mean it affects luck.According to my knowledge, good luck can be defined as the probability of a good thing happening to someone. And bad luck as the probability of a bad thing happening. Calculating this probability is impossible since the happening or non-happening of an event does not depend on anything but Nature.Hence, in my opinion, Friday, the 13th being a bad luck day is not true.
