Feel rich? You're worth $137,000

OTTAWA— Canada's net worth hit $4.5 trillion, or $137,000 a head, at the end of last year, Statistics Canada reports.

National net worth grew 1.4 per in the fourth quarter, up sharply from 0.7 in the third. Third quarter growth was slowed by a marked increase in net foreign debt.

Net worth rose by $60.4 billion in the fourth quarter, as Canadian individual and companies squirrelled more savings away.

The national net worth is the total of the net worth of people, corporations and governments, including land.

The statistics agency said the strong economy, especially the growth in residential real estate, boosted the national net worth.

Household net worth grew by 1.4 per cent in the fourth quarter, off from the 2.4 per cent increase recorded in the third quarter. This reflected slower increases in both residential real estate and equities.

Canadians' appetite for debt eased slightly in the final quarter, although Canadian households still carry about $1.08 in debt for every dollar of disposable income.

Government debt fell for a third straight quarter. Net debt now represents roughly half of GDP, compared to 90 per cent a decade ago.

I'm not worth alot, $877,570. They took $50,000 off for being a smoker! I pay enough for smoking and now they penalize me for it too, jeez, :o . Anyway, the article and the web site were interesting. If I'm ever in need of some cash I can put my results up on EBay.

you might even thank yourself for not living in Ontario since from June 1st this year, you can't smoke in any public building (incl. bars, casinos, restaurants) and taxes for smokes rises too.For me, that's good news :o as I'm a non-smokerxboxrulz

$1,838,046 - that was my total. Granted in the next couple years, I'll be getting both my JD and Phd....so my stock should rise. Shame I want to waste all the education by becoming a diplomat....

Well, I made that survey or whatever and here are my results: "You are worth exactly $2,165,476" Well, it is quite strange, I didn't exactly know how much is an inch, lbs, and height, but I counted it fast in my head, so the numbers are ~ almost normal. But it is quite funny, I wouldn't pay for someone that kind of money :o

Well here's mine: "You are worth exactly $2,323,386."Not bad, considering i got $0 for a good 7 questions. I don't quite get what the comparison scale is though. it would be cool if you got your results along with a chart showing where between the high and low points of each question you hit. But it's not necessarily a serious test because you can easily stick in these astronomical values, and totally whack the results. looking at the top scoring people, some girl who's at the top of the list right now entered an age of 21 and an income of over $1,000,000. :o

xboxrulz, $137,000 per capital is just an average. What you worth is actually -$2,361,783,543,234. You are in debt to Canada, and all the poor (poor as in "deserving pity") rich people have to pay for your debt... You lazy bum. :o

I worth "$1,818,044" on humanforsale. I got the most money from the gender category (sexism!!!), and I got the second most from the IQ category.

And for those in the states, while if you divide the GNP you might get a pretty high per capita figure, in reality the number is probably closer to szupie's negative number. figure on an economy held up by blind investors faith alone, an economy that is already over 10 trillion dollars in debt, and increasing every year. you're becoming worth less and less every day in the real world. that's probably true for a lot of countries.

humanforsale.com says I'm worth $1,639,530 right now. Too bad I don't actually *have* any of that right now *grins*But really: what would you all do if you had a million bucks in cash, tax-free, and could spend it any way you wanted?I'd give to my church (tithe) ... share with my family ... pay off student-loan debts ... get a vehicle ... and that's all I can think of off the top of my lil' head right now.
