manuleka 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2011 i notice that everytime i'm on a different computer (usually when i'm away on an internet cafe) which i do quite often i always have to log in onto Asta Community, this means a new page always loads up... and sometimes unfortunately the connection isn't as quick as at home so i'm wondering how easy would it be for you guys to implement a login pop-up box so it wouldn't have to load a whole new page just to log injust an idea because i've come across alot of forums and sites that only requires a pop-up prompt box

Although I don't have any problem with the login, because I always use one PC and one Internet connection to login to my Xisto account. But still this feature should be added. This can save a lot of time especially for friends on slower connections. In addition to this feature, I would like the forum webmasters to remove the flood control on replying. Whenever I come to Xisto forum, I look fro recent topics that interest me. I open them in separate tabs and give them a glimpse. The topics, which interest me get my full attention and I read them thoroughly. I let the tabs open containing the topics to which I think I can reply and close the others. After that I start replying. After posting reply in one topic, I have to wait for 30 seconds to post a reply to next one. 30 seconds might not seem as much. In fact it isn't much at all but what it does it that it creates an annoying effect. People don't want to be made to wait. I don't like waiting as well. So if it is possible, please remove this thing.

mahesh2k 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2011 For slower connection i observed that when you go to login page from index.php page. It loads fine and then it also asks for credentials. But when you enter it then asta redirects to front page which is index.html. Then you can go to forums from that front page. So i guess that is really bad redirection from their side. I think this should be fixed. For me i tried to login three times with such redirection and found that it is not getting login properly. I don't know if it is low connection issue or happens with every one all the time. Right now using index.php then login.html from bookmark to login and then using the forum. Hope it gets fixed in future updates to asta.

8ennett 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 I don't think an alternate login popup or pemanent page fix would make much difference to browsing the Xisto forums. If it takes forever to simply load the login page then how long is it going to take to browse the forums? You only login in to Xisto once then the rest of the time is spent loading up pages much larger than the login frame. Saving a couple of seconds isn't going to increase any productivity on a measurable scale.
