The Simpleton1405241582 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2010 Maybe some people would answer that question with a strong NEVER! but hey, it's bound to happen one day or another. I think it was 2004 when WoW first came out? Since six years its been ruling the MMORPG universe, undisputed. I haven't played WoW even for a minute, although I've played Warcraft III many times over. I can imagine what it's like, to romp in an online world, going off on a different adventure every day, escaping from reality and achieving something that no one in the real world really cares about. No wonder it's been such a huge hit. Sadly though, all good things must come to an end. The players who've been playing from day one till today must be wondering what they've achieved in these years. All those hours they spent levelling up and collecting virtual goodies could have been used for something more useful. Now they have online online glory to claim as their own, and nothing more. Still, how long do you think this craze will hold? I have no interest in joining now because it's too late and there are already millions of players who've reached the highest level possible and me doing it would bring me no satisfaction. Maybe there are others who think like me, and won't join, or some players may stop playing after a while. With each expansion pack, Blizzard is unleashing new features, places and whatnot. In the end, however, it's the same old thing which doesn't really appeal after a while. So, any guesses as to when we will be saying, R.I.P.?
iGuest 3 Report post Posted June 13, 2010 "...Achieving something that no one in theReal world really cares about." As opposed to all your play-throughs of Warcraft III and any other non-WoW games you play/have played? The world really cares about all you've done in those games, huh? People play games like WoW to have fun, not to accomplish something grand and amazing in the real world, and you are no different, even if you'd like to pretend you are. Hell, at least WoW players are regularly interacting with real people, which is much better than spending hours playing a single player game, which never seems to get quite the same "loser with no life" reaction that playing WoW does. "The players who've been playing from day one till today must beWondering what they've achieved in these years. All those hours they spent levelling up and collecting virtual goodiesCould have been used for something more useful." Do you sit up at night wondering what all those Warcraft III playthrough's have got you? Do you look back on your life at all the game playing, TV/movie watching, and any other "pointless" (insofar as you seem to be defining it) activities you've done and think "I could have been doing something more useful!"? No? Then why would you expect a WoW player to be doing so?

The Simpleton1405241582 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2010 i got borred and deleted the stupid imaginated, game which there is humans with ears like martians and eyes like cats and other sh*t. biggrin.gifThe game got famous for those "ears" and "eyes" only People want to escape from reality and that is why they get absorbed into fantasy lands like World of Warcraft. There is another famous MMORPG called Tibia, which uses old-generation 3D graphics, and is free to play (although players who pay for subscriptions get additional features). It is also similar to Wow and is a fantasy land filled with all sorts of strange creatures and the players' characters are all funny and weird. It is games like these which turn out to be bigger hits. Half-Life, which is based on real life, is also popular, but it couldn't match the popularity of WoW because it is too realistic Come to think of it, fantasy and sci-fi games, books, movies, etc have always been the biggest hits in their respective fields. It is the imagination of the developers which makes these things so appealing.Good examples are Star Wars, The Harry Potter series, and of course World of Warcraft! Real-life counterparts of these works never catch up to the amount of success made by the fantasy works. It's undeniable that after sometime these things get boring and repetitive, but the initial excitement is always wonderful. In the case of WoW, it seems a lot of players still have that excitement intact, which is why they're still playing after so many years. Players like Бојан get bored after the initial excitement wears off and there are lot of players who leave the game after sometime. But WoW's fanbase is so large that even if these bored players leave, there will still be millions left playing daily! I only wonder when all these players would get bored!! Blizzard is promising new content always but that hardly increases the appeal of the game. Now Warcraft 4 is also rumoured to be in the works. Will the Warcraft bandwagon never stop?! If it doesn't, there's no huge loss except loss of time, but if it does stop, I'm sure it is not going to happen anytime soon now.
Quatrux 4 Report post Posted June 16, 2010 I personally never even played World of Warcraft, it would be boring for me too if I even would ever have started to play it :)I remember I used to play Starcraft and thought it will never be boring, but after some years it did same as with Counter strike, but I see that a lot of whom still play Counter Strike, and how old it is?I think when people grow up, get a job, gets a wife and children, they don't have to much time to play World of Warcraft and if they don't get bored from playing it, usually they don't get a wife
H.O.D 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 lol this reminds me of an old episode of South Park, where a mighty player in Warcraft turns out to be a total loser, wasting all his time in front of the computer. i'm not saying all players are like that, but what Quatrux said is true - if we don't stop playing games like warcraft soon we're going to end up ruining our life in unimaginable ways. gaming is a passion for lot of people and when you get to share it with millions of others on the internet that sure makes an exciting combination. it's just not a healthy idea in the long term. maybe people who have loads of time to kill can truly enjoy warcraft by playing it all day long, but they'd most probably get bored after a few days/week and start finding something else to do.however for now blizzard's fan base is very tight and they won't be losing anything at all
mahesh2k 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 I don't know about others but 'm bored with it. Unless they come up with single person plot and other interesting characters and levels. I don't think i'll waste my time on this game. Though if you've 3-4 friends and have free time then WOW is good game to spend some time. Mostly kids prefer it because of this multiplayer fun and timepass as well.
iGuest 3 Report post Posted January 12, 2011 Replying to (G)(Hell, at least WoW players are regularly interacting with real people, which is much better than spending hours playing a single player game) -G-Theres a major difference though humans can't always be interacting with one another there are lots of times we want to do hobbys, activites and so on on our own. Playing a single player game falls into this category and doesn't fill the social factor. Playing a mmo such as wow quite often does instead of having a social life or socialising the game replacing this part of living and none of that takes into account that mmo's are designed to be played longer then single player games. Single player games can be completed in small time frames and played for small intervals, Where mmo's like wow have near infinite time frames for completion and are difficult to play for small ammounts of time based on design length of in game mechanics. I myself have played wow and unlike some people was never under the illusion of it being a social area of my life I played it as much like a single player game as possible. Always aware that reading text from some guy half way around the world with every word having nothing but capitals and every second world TROLL or QQ is not socialising only my conversations with individuals I knew in real life could be considered at all social and after I had got bored with the stimulai the game provided I quit.I read this thread to see if there was any interesting posts why wow will never end I find yours which looks promising then per ussual you put all this negitive emotion in it towards other peoples posts who feel that wow will end. Next time avoid showing you take it personally that other people have opinions about a topic or least you seam to be nothing but a wow fanboy.
