Boost Up Firefox

Recommended Posts

Open firefox, type about:config in the address bar then type network to filter the entries... now search for the following entries and set it values... network.http.pipelining set to "true" network.http.proxy.pipelining set to "true" network.http.pipelining.maxrequests set to 30 and last right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0".

Please read the tutorial specifications as expressed for instance here http://forums.xisto.com/topic/6-forum/, namely

1. The Tutorials have to be of a bare minimum length of 500 words to be accepted.

Your text length is far below this threshold, so it cannot really be named a tutorial.

That's why I moved it here, where most probably it's place is.

Could you please post some info on how the pipelining increases the performance of firefox ? The paintdelay isn't a bad thing if it does what I think it does. The delay allows firefox to download the HTML, CSS and Javascript code before rendering the page thus giving you the right layout immediatly (without the delay it's possible that firefox shows the HTML code without any CSS code at first). Setting the delay might give you the idea that it's faster (especialy on slow and bad connections) but it won't boost anything ;)
