Can I Make A Webpage With Javascript title kinda says it all

ok, i plan to make a game, and i was wondering if i can make my webpage in javascript, i just started learning it for this massive enderour i plan to over take, and i wanted to know if it was possible lol. im also learning php and mysql. Thanks, Zemon1

Topic moved to Web Design and HTML section...I'm sure you can make a website with just javascript code, but why would you do this? Javascript should only be used to execute some kind of script that you want and that HTML can not do (at least not that easily). Designing with HTML/PHP/XHTML is the preferred method.

(A little off topic) It's still in the Networking section. The other topic is moved.

(On Topic) Javascript just allows you to do cool things with a User's browser like menus, making things move, etc. To see what I mean, just visit http://www.javascriptkit.com/ or http://www.dynamicdrive.com/. But you need a "core" for the JavaScript to reside on. That would be where you need to learn HTML. HTML is really easy and you can probably pick it up within a week.

well the reason i wanted to was because i didnt know HTML and didnt really wabnt to learn it, but i went to a tutorial site and figured it was way easy, and if i was stummped i could just go back to the tutorial. Right now im learning PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and i know a touch of HTML as i stated above, so i just didnt want to add the load. I guess thats what happens when you get the ambtion to make the text based onling game i want to make lol. Usually when i get an idea like this i know nothing of it. I must say Xisto forums have helped me a lot.Zemon1

You will pretty much need to know more than a "touch" of html.If you want to make i text based game you will need to use HTML and javascript for the extra special kind of stuff.

You will need to know html if you want to use php.

You could do the whole thing with document.write and all sorts of dom manipulation.
