Recommended Posts

According to an article that i just read at the Yahoo it is posible iPods can cause cardiac implantable pacemakers to malfunction by interfering with the electromagnetic equipment monitoring the heart, how ever nothing as such has been said about any portable music devices other than iPods, which are made by Apple Inc.or others like zune...

Here is the complete article: https://www.yahoo.com/

I haven't read the article itself, but dang that's an odd bug to have, though hopefully not many people, if any at all, should have any real problems.

From the article:

Many electric devices -- such as cell phones, appliances, microwave ovens and high tension wires -- can produce the same effect. That's why doctors tell their patients not to put any electric device over their pacemaker.

While this is not justifying it obviously, you shouldn't make it sound like this is something solely caused by iPods :P Apparently other electronics can cause the same issues, AND the articles mentions that people with pacemakers are fine to use iPods as long as they don't place them directly over the pacemaker, in a breast pocket for example.

Again this is something for people with pacemakers to note, but they would already know this since doctors warn them about electronic devices in general being capable of causing problems with pacemakers, so really it seems more like someone hating on apple and using iPods popularity to get more readers on their story :P

Shhh....don't spoil our conspiracy to keep old people too scared to leave their houses which are free of all sources of threat to their pacemakers...it keeps them off the roads! :P

If it was just old people that were ignorant to changes in the world it'd be one thing, but a lot of young people have heart problems that require pacemakers so I feel its not good to have false information floating around out there without disclaimers :P
