blue77 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2006 Please i need help , I installed windows xp professional to a IBM PC and now the audio doesn't work it doesn't detect my speakers and i could use the net to update the drivers but that is the problem the modem driver is uninstalled, i tried to update the drivers form my PC but it says it needs internet access to update and the computer Brand is IBM, model is S9U, the modem model is RD01-D270, i searched in the net but don't seem to find the driver to burn into a CD. Hercco 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2006 Modem drivers can be a real *****. I hope the link Mark gave works... I haven't been using modems for years now (and I'm truly thankful for that) but I used to have a lot of issues with them. It's a huge criss-cross how the modem drivers can go: download the driver that your modem appears to be and it won't work, get something which seems to be for completely different device and it works. The reason of course is that manufacturers use different chips. So just for warning, if that driver doesn't work, be prepared to look for the original driver disc.
