Ed :P 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2006 Im thinking of useing the amazing stats i get with asta to do a pirate radio with shoutcast (winamp's). I could really get asta rolling. Atm i have 20 trial Djs who are in different timezones so they can cover most all shifts and i could be running a 24/7 streaming radio! radio doesnt take up much space nor bandwidth especially because you can change bitrate. i think more people should give it a try, It really could be the new thing. (dont want to use asta and dont know if you want to do it profetionally give listen2myradio.com a go. they do it free only they have like 800 ads on a page u cant embed :l)

yordan 10 Report post Posted September 1, 2006 (edited) i get with asta to do a pirate radio with shoutcastWon't you experience bandwidth limitation problems if you have a free hosted account ? Does somebodoy here know which bandwidth is necessary for a radio ?By the way, why do you name that "pirat" radio ? May I suggest another name, like "private radio". "Private Radio" means "the radio I own, and I do what I estimate useful for my own purposes".Historically, a "pirate" boat was a ship which goal was to attack other ships in order to steal wifes and objects. Which was obviously illegal. As long as you don't want to do illegal things, there is no need to name your activity "pirate".Of course, you remember some pirats were legal ones, but their names were not "pirates" but "corsaires" ! nightfox1405241487 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2006 (edited) Actually, $40 isn't bad. There's some heavy duty software that costs almost $200+ but it's real professional. For $2,000 (about) you can get a broadcasting server that is like a radio station rolled up into a little box! You can do web casts with it, air wave broadcasts (if you are properly licensed) or even use it on a sound system. When it comes to Internet Radio, you have to know the way you want to go.Paid route: Usually easier to use since the software is more developed because it cost money.Free route: Not usually the best, harder to use, but hey, Apache server is free and popular[N]F Edited September 4, 2006 by nightfox (see edit history)
Markymark2 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2006 Well I paid a LOT of money to get all my DJ software and hardware together..Looking at the pirate radio thing..well i cant..theres two screenshots on the site and a link to download a player (please tell me they dont lock ppl ini with this player! i.e. u HAVE to have to player to listen..this would be foolish!!Not even a demo I can play with for an hour. There seems to be a link to a page that is blank that allows you to get it for "Free" So to even it try it I have enter my CC details in...bad move form the makers of the software..I think I pass and use Traktor and Shoutcast like I have done for years..
