pyost 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2006 When I bumped into this, I was shocked, but pleasantly shocked. It seems that there are people crazy enough to recreate Star Wars IV: A New Hope in DOS mode. And they did this only by using ASCII characters! What's more, you can watch the WHOLE movie, which is over one hour long. So, Star Wars fans (I'm one of you, lol), this is what you have to do: Start Telnet (Start > Run > "telnet")When Telnet starts, type "o" (without quotes) and press ENTERType in "towel.blinkenlights.nl" and press ENTERWait a few seconds for the credits to pass, and then enjoy! Demonhawk 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2006 I cant even imagine how long this must have taken to create, its amazing lol. I dont think I can watch the whole thing because it hurts my eyes but it is well done . It sticks to the story mostly and some of it is cut due to not being able to do it and time limitations but haha its great for a good laugh.

Jeigh1405241495 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2008 Haha wow, for once I'm glad something got a random reply after a long time lol. This entertains me greatly that someone thought to do a movie like this. I've seen a bunch of images or short animations done with ascii recreations but to see an entire movie recreated like this is intense. Although I hurt for the guys who did this since they obviously have a large excess of free time on their hands, but otherwise kudos to them! I only watched the first few minutes but assuming the whole movie is there as claimed that an impressive feat.
