nightfox1405241487 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2006 hey guys!I'd like to install KDE on my FC5 system which currently just has GNOME. I guess all I'd have to do is open a terminal, su -, yum install kde & it should download & install then logout & log back in using KDE?Thanks![N]F

qwijibow 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2006 i would expect the rpm's post install cionfig script to add the desktop to kdm / gdm / whatever login manager you are using.

iGuest 3 Report post Posted July 17, 2006 Actually to install KDE, you'll do: su -c "yum groupinstall 'KDE (K Desktop Environment)'" That should find all the required files to install the KDE environment and download it from the internet. Or you could do it from the CD unless you want the latest KDE.Cheers,MC
