Any Certifed Ethical Hackers Out There?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone taken courses/assessments to be come a Certified Ethical Hacker, or some similar qualification? I'm interested in what you thought of the course, whether the material taught was actually helpful in real life, whether the qualification has made any difference to your work, etc.

I never knew that IT or Computer Security Specialists specially had a qualification related in that role. Would be good if they did.

I felt they just needed expertise in the related matters, strong grasp of doing security audits and programming.

I'd be interested in what information would be found from this, not that security specialists are large in my country, it's just good to be knowledgable in this area too.

However this site http://www.barclaysimpson.com/infsecquals.shtml opened my eyes a bit.

Cheers,

MC

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ have some. So do http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. Actually, typing "certified ethical hacker training" into Google produces quite a long list.

And there's a bunch who have set themselves up as certifiers:

I'm interetsed to know how widely their qualification is accepted/recognised.

I know how to hack to some level, when I was younger I made virus's, but I prefer programming games, and chat programs now, and working on my forum software which I will never finish.

you could start here http://www.hackthissite.org/ - it's a safe and legal host for people who want's to learn all about computer security, hacking, cracking, etc... They have goot competition's there, many tutorials, and good forum... It's for beggingers as for professionals too...

When you know little more, you could find some exploits here...https://securityvulns.ru/exploits/ - What are exploits? you will findout...

https://packetstormsecurity.com/ is a goot place to start too. It's an very old (but regulary updated) and very huge archive place, with tutors, exploits, and proof-of-concept hacks...

so that's is pretty much for start, don't you think...? :D
good luck... :(

I've heard that Certified Ethical Hackers are in high edmand now in the Information Technology industry, which is improving after years of slow growth. I've read many news reports of how Certified Ethical Hackers are earning hundred of thousands of dollars and the job sounds good.

That's crazy, well maybe system admin's can also be certified ethical hackers. I mean they have to know how to cover up open holes in their systems that are exposed to hackers so they must have some knowledge about this but wow thousands of dollars? man I want to become a certified ethical hacker hahaha :(
