Best Fps Ever! what do you think is the best fps ever?

Recommended Posts

hate to say this but America's Army is way too overrated. I mean, the graphicsa are awesome but the gameplay is just too much. I hated the training the most. Never got medics badge cuz of the lesson lol

I found that bit easy, mostly because I was a sad little geezer and made notes lol. The bit i found hard was the sniper part. As i may have mentioned i have a crappy graphics card and my mouse jerked around way too much for me to be able to aim properly.

My vote would be for Half-Life 2. It's not all just Half-Life 2, Its CSS, HLS, and all of the mods for them. I really liked the quake series, and also the original doom. Yes, I still play the origional doom. I have it on my little PII that I built when I was 8.

Either America's Army or UT2k4 get my vote.2 very well created games with good graphics and special effects.Although, very different games, in a sense they are very alike, which is probably why I love both of them. But, I guess I'd have to go with America's Army as it is free and was made for no profit. The only real problem I have with it is that their registration form doesn't work at this moment in time.

my fav is far cry, I play it until today, the graphic is the best, the gameplay is the best and it's sooooooo difficult (in difficult mode :) ), but it sucks. :)

I would have to vote for Halo 2.... Halo 2 changed my experience of gaming and i would have to give it a 10 out of a 10!! Halo: Combat Evolved was also a great game...

The original half life was a very good game. In many aspects it had a lot of innovative features. For example, it was probably the first, first person shooter to use a heavy amount of scripted events in the game. This allowed the story to be told from the first person perspective instead of through cutsenes. Far Cry is also a great first person shooter. It has some pretty impressive squad technology and some good gameplay.

Without a doubt, it has to be the Halo series. It was the reason for me buying an Xbox! I played it on mates xbox and i was hooked. No matter how much i play this game I never get bored.Halo 2 was just as amazing, the dual weilding, bigger levels and improved graphics just make the game more alluring to those who enjoyed the first game. The ability to play the game online/multiplayer also adds more playability to the game as it gives you that great feeling of meleeing someone on another xbox to the floor!!!! :D Definately looking forward to the next addition to the game

My vote definately goes to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory for the online FPS's and FarCry for normal FPS. Why ET: I like WWII games so that's already an advantage for it and I like the graphics and gameplay of online playing more then CS.Why FarCry: because I spend 50euro to it :D . And because it has BEAUTIFUL graphics, very good AI (smart enemies) and it has many levels.

Probably Deus Ex. This game was one of the first to allow so many choices for completing missions. You could go in the front door with all guns blazing, sneak in through vents and stealth your way through a building, while using quiet close combat weapons to dispose of your enemies, or possibly hack the security, let yourself through a side door and turn the turrets onto your side and let them massecure the enemies inside. Also, it added some really nice RPG elements to the game (Yes I am aware that the System Shock series did this too <3 Those games would probably be my second choice) and I was addicted to this game from just the demo.To top it all off, the story line and the length of the game were VERY professional and involving. It had so many twists and plots, the maps and areas you use, the locations you visit. New York, Hong Kong, France or Paris or something, taken hostage in military bases. For it's time, it also had some nice graphics and the marble floors which reflected everything were a nice touch. If you haven't played this game and graphics don't bother you too much, give it a try. Also just a note, do not judge this game based on Deus Ex 2. I played a bit of that game and was very disappointed :DPS. System Shock 2 is really fun and has a great story line too. I recommend getting the patch and playing the game through with Co-op :D The atmosphere developed by this game for it's time was really good as well... the spiders scared the <Something> out of me many times :DBut yeah, as you can see, what I think makes the best FPS game is a great involving story line and gameplay and some unique elements.

I'd probably have to say Duke Nukem 3D. That was just the kewlest game ever when it came out and it;s still tons of fun. You gotta love all the humor they put in there.

I'm more of a tactical shooter fan. I like the rainbow six series and ghost recon series a lot. Especially the multiplayer.

For FPS, the Half life series rules the day, just for the crazy amount of quality mods out there for them... well not Half Life 2 quite yet but most definately for the first. Many of the mods for Half life I prefer over other companies games that you have to pay for. I have more fun playing Day of Defeat, a WW2 mod for Half Life, more than any of the Medal of Honor games. America's Army? Nah, I'll take Firearms, a military based Half life mod that gives more of a large scale conflict with fewer people. However, Plan of Attack, the first true Half Life 2 mod, gives a similar setting and is fast proving to be a worthy substitue as well. Enter the Matrix? Yeah right, The Specialists is superior to it in all aspects except for graphics. The list grows as more Mods are released. The ability to mod a game can make an otherwise average or even sub par, to a lesser extent, a great game with lasting power. If attached to an already great game, like Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights and of course the Half life series, then it will surpass all others as time wears on.
