I think Red Hat Linux is more popular than any other distribution. I use Red Hat and think it works fine.... I am still learning and find it easy with Red Hat... I have not used other Linux....And about players I hardly use computer play music for me...

Although i would say SuSE is a poor choise for hackers...

Linux From scratch or Gentoo.. or maybe SLackware for those into hacking.

 

note: Hackers in the Computer sence of the word (not the paranoid american hollywood sence) are people who code... code kernels program or whatever..

Yah The term Hacker is always misunderstood by most of the people... I think they are the people like critics who says you are wrong here and you need to improve this and that... They know most of the thing about everything...

What's the best free distro of Linux?

I'm gonna have a go running it on my Dad's laptop - it is currently running Win '98, and is really slow. Also, it gives me a chance to check my sites without having to ask the guys from CodingForums.com to check it .
