I'm not aware of any data or studies that would suggest that the blood types of the parents have any bearig on the sex of the offspring. Ph factors in utro, timeing of the mating, genetics, etc would all have a lot more to do with determining the sex of the child instead of the blood.

The main factor that determines the gender of a baby are the chromosomes.

(Chromosome=A circular strand of DNA in bacteria (and also a protein) that contains the hereditary information necessary for cell life).

In a wider concept, there are two kinds of chromosomes: an X chromosome and a Y chromosome.

The unfertilised egg already contains an X chromosome, which leaves two options at the time of conception:

An X chromosome can be added to the already present X chromosome, in which case the baby will be a girl.

A Y chromosome can be added to the already present X chromosome, in which case the baby will be a boy.

There is also a risk factor: sometimes, on top of the X or Y chromosome, an extra chromosome gets added at the time of conception, in which case the baby is usually born with Down's Syndrome.

There are some methods, which claim to help determine the baby's gender, such as calculating the ovulation time, and then having sex at a certain number of days from ovulation time, but that is very theoretical, and difficult to plan properly.

Furthermore, there are also lots of old wives tales about when and/or how to have sex in order to make sure your baby is the gender you want it to be.

But, coming back to the original question: I understand from your question that you would like to know the gender of your baby, based upon your and your husband's blood groups, well, blood groups do not determine the gender of a baby, but they do influence the blood type your baby will be born with.

The best thing to do if you want to know what gender your baby will be is to have an ultrasound (or, a scan, as it is more commonly known).

Doctors have been known to get the gender wrong using this type of test, although the chances for that are very minimal, mistakes can happen, of course, when the baby is laying in an awkward position.

There is also a home testing gender kit available, which is similar to a home pregnancy test, but this type of test is highly questioned on its reliability by a majority of scientists.

So, do not rely on tales you hear or things people write about blood types determining the gender of your baby, just do it the proper way, make an appointment with a gynaecologist and have an ultrasound done, this is still your best bet.

Also, if gender were determined by the blood groups of the father and mother, that would mean all your children would be of the same sex, which is clearly not the case in many families.

Finally, all the best of luck with the pregnancy, and best wishes for a smooth birth of a happy and healthy baby.

As your blood group is O+ and your husband's blood group is B+, you could have a child with either the blood group O or the blood group B. The blood group O is a recessive trait so it is rather uncommon. As you have a blood group O, it is not possible for you to contain genes for either blood group A or blood group B in your chromosome pair. Your husband can have either blood group B alone, or a combination of blood group O and blood group B. As I mentioned, blood group O is a recessive trait so by having the genes for both blood group O and blood group B, the individual has an expressed trait of the blood group B.You cannot tell what the sex of your child will be based on blood group. The blood test that is used to determine pregnancy and the sex of the child is not based on the blood group of the parents. The blood group of the mother and the blood group of the father determines the blood group of the child, and not the gender. Gender is determined by a pair of chromosomes that either consist of one X chromosome and one Y chromosome in the case of a boy or both X chromosomes in the chromosome pair in the case of a girl. The mother always has two X chromosomes and the father always has one X chromosome and one Y chromosome. The child can either have one of the two X chromosomes of the mother and one X chromosome of the father, in which case a girl is born, or the child can have one of the two X chromosomes of the mother and one Y chromosome from the father, in which case a boy is born. There are research studies that attempt to determine a correlation between various factors, such as the blood group, the age of the parents, the lifestyle of the parents, the occupation of the parents, however, it is unlikely that a correlation would be found and even if a correlation is found in a research study, one has to determine that the findings of the research study were not from external factors and the data collection and data analysis were not flawed in any way. Also, a correlation does not necessarily mean a causation exists because in some cases two events can occur simultaneously but one cannot necessarily cause the other or in some cases the causality observed can be the actually reversed.

Sex determination with blood group is not possible. If the sex of a baby was based on the blood group, than every individual would have only mail or female children. Sex is determined by sex chromosomes transmitted during copulation. So, a ultrasonographic study of the pregnant mother could easily determine the sex of your future baby. But, in India, sex determination is considered a crime and better not to go for it.

there is a false belief that the sex is determined by blood group. actually, it is determined by the sex chromosomes. the xy chromosome of male and the xx chromosome of female determines the sex. the xy allele devides to x and y chromasomeand xx devides to x and x .when combine, the possible combinations are xx and xy. the xx will be female and xy will be male, and this combination is not under human control. the sex can be determined by ultrasound sonography, karyoyping etc.and one thing also, whether the child is male or female, both of hem have equal rights.
