What's A Good Way To Measure Mass With A Bathroom Scale? units

Recommended Posts

Would I want lbs or kg for it. What I'm weighing is too light for a bathroom scale alone. But if I weigh myself and then myself with the item, the difference is the items weight. It's for a physics video project we were assigned.

You'll want to use kilograms since no science is done with imperial measurements any more. It also allows you to easily get forces, etc. in metric. As you've correctly said in the title, but incorrectly in your post, you will find the mass of the object using the described technique. Mass is measured in kilograms and invariant under changes to gravity. Weight is measured in Newtons, and depends on the gravity of the planet you are stood on. On earth, weight (in Newtons) = 9.80665 * mass (in kilograms).
