Ive just been fiddling with photoshop a bit as a recently downloaded bought it. Ill pick out some of the ones that i see as my best. Note: The signatures have names in them, as i made them for people on various forums. Signature 1 Signature 2 Signature 3 Signature 4 Signature 5 Signature 6 Signature 7 Helpful advice would be great! But dont abuse me, ive only been doing this for a short while. deadmad7 4 Report post Posted November 22, 2010 Hey! I think you should try to work on your blending in of the render, there are hardly any blending. Take a look at this signature I made a few days ago - The render is somewhat blended in and it looks like a part of the signature, although I got the render, c4d and background images from different places. That's gotta be your goal when you start out. Try to duplicate your sig and smudge them in the background and put them on "linear dodge" over your background. You should try looking up Tuts on deviantart.com The 2nd and 6th sigs are the ones that I think you did a good job on, others look like they were mashed together in 5 mins. And I really don't think you should be making sigs for other people until you get moderately good at it. Well, anyway i think you should participate in the SOTW next time, its the best way to improve. Here, vote in the new one and observe the techniques of each of the sigs. Good luck! You could have picked a better render, the low opacity makes the background visible in it (or it was intended). I like the firey effect the left, you could make it more visible. A better font/color could have been used too, try out different fonts and colors. And lastly, experiment with your signatures -- don't stick to one formula. Can't wait til your next sig! BCD 1 Report post Posted November 24, 2010 You could have picked a better render, the low opacity makes the background visible in it (or it was intended).Hi there I have seen many of your posts discussing about signature designs. One thing I always wanted to know was about the terms you people use so commonly -> render. What does it mean in this context? I know rendering done to create 3d images and animation. It would be great if you could tell me a bit about rendering in signatures. Thanks.

So in my top signature... the render would be the Liger Zero (the cat/animal type thing).
Tramposch 1 Report post Posted December 3, 2010 Lets start at 1 Sig 1 - This looks like a really good signature, I feel like it goes all very well, the render, the background, and the colours. Although it does not have much depth or flow, it looks like a very good abstract background, and a creative render, Although some of the blending could use some work (looks like you could have just taken the render and turned it on like.. colour blend) I see that both the top right and bottom left corners are pointed out, that would look good if you had a sense of flow towards these two points, maybe trying to achieve that would complete this signature. Sig 2 - The only have a few complaints about this signature, the red i think needs to be a bit darker. that render reminded me of that sig i made 3 years ago, its very dark, i personally think that worked well, but its up to you haha. Sig 3 - This is very simple, but works very well, I think the text is too big and attracts your attention too much. Sig 4 - There is little to no blending in the signature, It seems as if you stuck two signatures on each other, it could use some blending work, you could copy the render a few times to the left and right and smudge it a lot, and then have the earth fading through or something like that. Sig 5 - This is a good start, the render could use some blending though. i like the use of the render on the right side, faded in the background. Sig 6 - This looks good, I just think the bullet damage maybe should follow the angle of the gun, and the background I don't think suites the render. Sig 7 - There is real no sense of blending in this signature, it would make for a good pop-out signature, but the render needs to be blended a bit more to the background, and it doesn't seem like a great render. The faded render in the background could work well if you make the render blend a bit. Over all you did a very good job for a beginner!
