I use my computer for many things. I have installed two OS Windows XP and Linux Mandriva LE 2005. I use Windows mostly for playing games, writing articles, letters, stuff like that, I use it also for editing PHP files (for my website) I didn't found yet, or maybe better I haven't searched for an PHP editor for Linux, maybe I've it already installed but I don't use linux that much. And than also for uploading files to my webpage. Basic use Than linux. I'm using it just for internet and some experimenting (I'm trying to learn by myself to use the run command and stuff like that, I'm still a newbie nothing serious.

Before when I bought my computer, my original intention was to use it for school work. Then I started buying PC games, and I just kept playing them. My computer became a gaming PC, and I rarely used it for school work or anthing else. I was on dial up for a long time, which really sucked due to it's incredibly slow speed. Then I got high speed from Dell. It was wonderful, and the best part about it was that my IP was dynamic. So any time I got banned from a server for breaking rules, I simply reconnected again. hehe

In my field, I generally use the computer to make lesson plans and materials. Of course, I also search the internet for activity ideas if I'm drawing a blank as far as educational games are concerned. Apart from that, I play music, create graphics (if time permits), read the news and do some tweaking to my website....oh, and of course, post here on the forums.

I use my computer mainly for entertainmant purposes, and occasional work.. I guess, I use it for all purposes a little :unsure:But, mainly, I like to relax with some music, when I come home from work, so, there comes in the computer If I want to get in touch with my friends, but I'm too lazy to go out, there's my computer, I'll go to chat, or use one of instant messengers for that.. Wanna watch some movies? Guess what, I still use my computer :DI use it pretty much most of the spare time, I spend at home..

i am not a programmer but i use my computer for

1. listening to music , movies

2. surf the net

3. post the topics on Xisto and other sites

4. search for good knowledgeable matterial for my profession [i m a docter ]

5. check my emails

6. read my ebooks on medical sciences

7.trying to bulid a website on "swami vivekananda" for which i must hav a computer.

8. scan and print the important documents also scan my slides patient picture for case studie

 

so a normal computer owner i do these things....may be i may have more uses than this....

I'm happy to see that people don't only use the computer to chat, forum, games, cyperporn or things like that. I mean, i used to be like that but i was 7 years old(exepy cyberporn). Now i use it to do animations, program games, do graphics and sometimes things listed first(no cyberporn(yet...(Better irl(Sorry to talk about that in the computer section(a lot of "(" ")" huh?)))))Anyway, that's it.

Mmm... I use it for a lot of things: doing reports, talking with friends, working on my website, coding in general, animating, designing in photoshop. Like I said, I use it for a lot of things!
