The Simpleton 2 Report post Posted June 23, 2010 I'm making some small tutorial videos for my college, mostly in Ubuntu and a few in Windows 7. There's a small issue though - in Ubuntu I have created a temporary user bearing the college's name, but my computer name (which appears in the terminal) is still the same, which I don't want to appear in the videos. I think there is an option to change the computer name, but I don't want to do it. Instead, I want to blur out the computer name, just to keep it as a tiny mystery in the videos. Is there any good video-editing tool to do this? Any platform would be fine and I need it only for a short time so a trial of 30 days would be fine too. So, any suggestions please? rvalkass 5 Report post Posted June 23, 2010 There are a few topics here on Xisto that deal with video editing software, and specifically video editing software for Ubuntu and Kubuntu. Below I've listed a few, and although most video editing software contains the ability to blur certain sections, I can't be certain all the ones I list do, so check first. Or, as they're free, download them and give them a go anyway Cinelerra - http://heroinewarrior.com/cinelerra.phpAvidemux - http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/CinePaint - http://www.cinepaint.org/Kino - http://www.kinodv.org/CineFX - http://www.cinefx.org/Kdenlive - https://kdenlive.org/ Also note that a few of those are KDE-based applications, so they will install the KDE libraries on Ubuntu if you don't have them already. 1 The Simpleton reacted to this

mahesh2k 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2010 For windows you can use sony vegas. I know that it's commercial but if you're tinkering with video then it got everything you need. I'm not aware of any good video editor for the linux so i'll leave this with the list that rvalkass gave you. Other than vegas there are few free video editors but i never got chance to install and review them. Makeuseof.com has list of such softwares, if you dont find it there then you can check google.
