Drug Companies Over the top?

Ok, tell me truthfully, when you see drugs for various maladies advertised on TV, do you get the incredible urge to rush right out and get a prescription from your doctor because you have yellow under your fingernails, restless legs, thinning hair, no sex drive, or have to go pee more often than someone thinks you should?I mean, seriously, what difference does it make how often you feel the need to pee? And look at the side effects, dry mouth, nausea, cramps, and constipation. Seems to me it would be a whole lot better to just go pee and not have all those side effects. Who the heck wants stomach cramps? And who the heck ever even heard of restless leg syndrome until some drug company made a commercial about it? I never did. And I doubt many other people did either. Isn’t it just so kind of them to inform us about this terrible problem and how they can sell us a cure? Just the other day, the drug companies informed us all through the magic of television that the drug they are selling us for depression leaves over half the people who take it still suffering from depression. So from the kindness of their pea picking hearts, they have conjured up another drug you can take along with the one that doesn’t work to make it work better. Of course, they say nothing about not taking the first drug, just adding the new one to your pill popping regime. Now, please tell me, if the first one isn’t working, why on earth would you want to continue taking it??? Let alone add another one. And even crazier, they say the side effects on this one include suicide, now boy howdy, thoughts of suicide seem to me to be petty dang depressing and not something you would even consider getting from an ANTI depression medicine! I miss the good old days when Doctors, Lawyers, and major pharmaceutical company’s couldn’t advertise on TV. We got to see cool commercials like Playtex living bra’s or girdles. When was the last time you saw a girdle advertised on TV? And who could forget “Where’s the Beef?” Heck, even Beer commercials were better than drug commercials. We all knew that drinking too much beer wasn’t good for us, and we knew what would happen when we drank too much beer, but at least nobody was making up fake excuses to get us to drink beer. I suppose they didn’t have to though, we actually like to drink beer. Even if it does make us pee too much!Don’t even get me started on erectile dysfunctional medications.I hear they have a new one out, or at least an old one in new form. They have viagra in a nasal spray now, for pecker heads.

It's ridiculous. It's way out of hand. People will buy what ever they are told to buy.They rely so much on placebos it's not funny. And it really somethingwhy people would take these drugs to get even worse side effects. It's disturbing how many people rely on anti-depressants. This is telling us really,as far as I can see, that we just aren't living right as a society. People are justmade to feel under pressure and insecure. The drug companies will just keep pumping out their stuff though,justas long as the profits are enormous. Profit before health seems to be the priority.

Yeah its a sad reality. I've seen a documentary where a woman in US was taking some drugs that would cost her 30 dollars a pill. I do not recall what they were and why she needed them but when she went over the border to another country I think it was mexico for some health care treatment the hospital there was only selling the same pills for 1 dollar or less each. Why is it so cheap in mexico where in the US they charged so much. Its purely about profit these days and not about caring for human beings.

The thing about drugs (perscription) in Mexico is absolutly true. We used to go down there once a year and stock up. I can get antibiotics for my self and my dogs at a tiny fraction of the cost in the USA, and not only that, you can get what you need without a doctor's permission in most cases. I had a dog that had to be on lasix, my housedog, and the perscription in the USA was $15, in Mexico it was $1.50!!!! And that was just one drug!
