Php Career

I know the basics of Php .I know other programming languages like Java ,c++But whenever i apply for the job in Php the employer needs the more advanced codes.I have been rejected 5 times and pretty depressed . Should i go for more learning Php?Whenever i do a bit more its still not sufficient.

Don't be lazy, if the employer wants someone with more advanced coding skills, then you just have to learn more to get to that level of knowledge in php. But I'm kinda shocked that you know java and you're not hired yet, but many employers want to see what you have learned on a school paper.I think w3schools has a service where you can get you degree on something by doing their test through your computer.Anyway, try to learn more about these languages you know, basics isn't enough for an employer, he/she wants someone with the skills to code what he/she wants.

Too true, you need to be an advanced programmer to get a career in PHP. Can you code a whole forum, shopping cart, social networking site or CMS by hand under pressure? If not then a career on PHP isnt going to go to well...

I was going to become a PHP programmer but it was too much to be honest!

Hi!@arvindshetty86If you really do want to pursue a career in a particular technology and the barriers to entry are quite high, then you've got to put the work into doing whatever it takes to get in and stay in. If not, you might want to pick something easier to do.When choosing a technology to specialize in, you might want to either find a technology that a lot of firms are hiring for, which makes it easier to get into the industry even with a fairly limited knowledge of the technology, or you could target a niche technology where you'd find fewer jobs, but since hiring other professionals for the same technology would be hard for the firm, you'd pretty much have a sense of job security since they'd have to go through much more effort to replace you. In some cases, the pay for a niche technology would be better too since they expect you to be a specialist in your field.BTW, if you're good at Java, you really ought to try to get into an entry-level Java programming position as those are easier to get into. It's not all command-line and compiler like most people tell you it is. You get a pretty integrated development environment (IDE) to design forms for graphical user interfaces (AWT, Swing or SWT development) and if you prefer to go with web development instead, there's JSP (Java Server Pages) and servlets. Try to find a company that accepts entry level employees. With in just 2 to 3 months, if you really love programming, you can become an advance programmer in no time.Find a job that will let you code php 8 hrs a day 5days a week.That is based on my experience.
