Money From Advertising

Recommended Posts

I own a few sites

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

and about 10 more... but those are my two main sites (other sites are an mmorpg, games site, outwar fansite, habbo fansite and others)

Anyway, on most of my sites, I have http://www.sitescout.com/adbrite/?utm_source=adbrite advers on them, I have earned about £15($30) for people clicking the advers and about £15($30) from selling ads, I have made this withing the last few months (about the last 2 months)

Im my opinion that is one of the best ways to make money on the internet. As long as you have a HIGH traffic website (I am making those two aoutomated, so people ccan sign up, upload and the sites should run themselves)

So I wont have to do much to keep the content updated, I will still have to advertise tho.

Thats my contribution to this part of the forum for now, I hope this info will help someone :D

so you earned $60 in the last 2 months on ALL your sites or just the 2 listed above? Also, how much traffic are you getting for those 2 sites. Just like to know how much traffic we are talking so it is comparable to other services. For example, if you are only getting 50 uniques a day and are making $30 a month.. that is much better than someone making $30 a month on 500 uniques.

Advertise your site, put your site in tosites lists, add your site anywhere you ca, in your sigs at forums, verywhere, and have good use of meta tags, dont over-do them. I added correct meta tags to my sims site and now it comes up on the 1st page om http://www.bing.com/?cc=gb

Hello craglloIam new here and also a new webmaster myself. I have a brand new 2-week old membership site that has about 1000 pageviews per day at the moment. The site also has 108 members as of today and growing at a rate of 5-10 per day. I don't have ads in place yet but I do plan to monetize the traffic in the future. What's your per day avarage earning with AdBrite? Is it better money-wise than AdSense? Iam tempted to put in CPM (pay per impression) banners at this early stage but so far Iam disciplined enough to hold back until I get more members and more traffic flowing.

how did you get that many visitors in just 2 weeks? what kind of forum is it? what did you do to advertise? and where is your traffic coming from?If your site is a forum, then it is not likely that you will get approved for Google Adsense. Adsense hates forum sites because there is too much work in monitoring them.

no9t9,My site is an alumni community site with a forum and not just a forum site. I offer them email services and other communication tools. I did an initial info campaign drive on YahooGroups to inform some members of the community about the existence of the website and since then the word is rapidly spreading via email-forwarding-word-of-mouth route. Viral marketing. No expenses. I reckon if I could just get a couple of thousand members on board, I'll get a little steady stream of revenue from AdSense and CPM ads going. I don't expect to earn anything until then.

oh, alumni.. so you already had some sort of email list when you started. If it is not just a forum, then I would suggest signing up for Adsense but not putting it on the forum pages. Try finding a CPM advertiser as well because you will undoubtedly have high page views. Tribal fusion is supposed to be good for CPM (but I'm not sure how big you have to be to join). Others are Burst Media and FastClick.

There was one place that paid like $2/1000 impressions for interstitials. I forgot where tho.

Edit: Check out this link http://www.net-ads.com/sponsorship/popups.html

I didn't have any email list before I started. What I did was search for YahooGroups with similar sounding names or descriptions and I just email the group owner/mod.FastClick just rejected my site just yesterday. Yeah, I though it was too premature to even apply at this stage. Guess I have to wait until Iam getting 10k pageviews per day or something. Maybe about 100 or more pages of content will help too ;) Thanks for pointing me to Tribal Fusion and BurstMedia. Just to be sure, I won't apply until my site is ready.

I just visited yesadvertising.comFrom where Iam based their rates are pretty low - 5c per CPM.Id rather not put banners if the rate is that low. Like Iam going to earn $1.50 a month at my current traffic - nevermind.I was just accepted in clickXchange (http://www.clickxchange.com/) and found CPM rates at 15c. If you live in the US and the UK there are CPM rates there of $1 and more.
